It's not going to be a single elimination tournament to crown the first SHIMMER Tag Team Champions. Rather than put seven tag team matches on a single DVD release, or have to split a tournament up across two different DVD releases, we've decided to go a different route to determine the first title holders, and have it all happen on one single DVD. The answer is, we will have a tag team gauntlet on Volume 21. Each team will draw a number. Teams #1 and #2 will face each other to start off, with the winners of that pairing to immediately face the team which drew #3, and so on. The team which is victorious during the final pairing in the gauntlet will be crowned the first SHIMMER Tag Team Champions. This is an easy way to determine the initial title holders, and get it all accomplished in one shot on a single DVD, while at the same time not occupying that entire DVD's card with tag team matches. We're not going to formally announce the teams. But anyone who watches the DVDs should basically be able to predict which teams will be part of it. Basically, every established or semi-established team that are in town will be a part of it. I'm going to take a list someone posted awhile back and make a couple modifications: Ashley Lane & Nevaeh Allison Danger & Jennifer Blake MsChif & Cheerleader Melissa The Canadian Ninjas (Portia Perez & Nicole Matthews) The Experience (Lexie Fyfe & Malia Hosaka) The International Home Wrecking Crew (Jetta & Rain) I removed the Scream Queens, as they havn't been together in awhile, while the MelissChif team has teamed more often and recently. The Dangerous Angles? Not happening. Besides, Danger has a new partner in Jennifer Blake, who's team with Danyah was very short lived. A six team gauntlet. Not the best way to determine a champion, but it'll do, and it'll be fun. |

or maybe Blake and LuFi will be the Suicide Blondes..honestly..a bringing in a team like that as a ...suprise, would be the only way I would "pop" for any team but the Ninjas winning.

Basically similar to the tag team tourmoil match seen every now and then in WWE. "Similar" as in "exactly the same". I'm not complaining; more often than not they're very good (the one in 2001 won by Jericho & He Who Shall Not Be Named for example). Plus with the SHIMMER version you're guaranteed that i) the match will actually be given time, and ii) there won't be any shitarses in there dragging it down. I figured this would be the way it would be done as soon as the announcement was made on Sunday without the word "tournament" appearing anywhere in it. |

The Experience beat Ariel & Nikki Roxx
Ashley Lane & Nevaeh beat The Experience
Ashley Lane & Nevaeh beat Serena Deeb & Allison Danger. Danger throws a fit and attacks Deeb.
Jetta & Rain beat Lane & Nevaeh
Jetta & Rain beat Shark Girl & Daffney (ah what the hell, why not.)
LuFisto & Jennifer Blake beat Jetta & Rain
Canadian Ninjas beat Suicide Blondes for the titles after Portia uses a chain, a cookie, a squeegee, a Tim Horton's donut, a roll of canadian nickels and a cabbage patch kid on blake to get the cheap win. NEW CHAMPS!!!!

I dont know whats with Malia Hosaka. last i heard she wanted to bow out of the wrestling business, (if im wrong dont crucify me.) Lorelei Lee and Serena Deeb might make an appearance. There's no real tell tale signs of who exactly will be in due to the partner swapping that happens constantly. Wait to the 19th of October! Me and my friends have some Halloween spirit up our sleeves. |

Gauntlet is an interesting format in that it allows for any number of teams to take part, so 4, 5, 6 , 7 or however many are available. I'd guess that competing would be :
The Experience
Home Wreckers
Canadian ninjas
Ashley and Nevaeh (they need a team name)
Suicide blondes (I think Blake and Lufisto may be better than Blake and Danger)
plus any others, so possibly reuniting Danger and Del Ray.
Who'll win? its hard in this format particularly if drawn early on. I'd like to see Ashley and Nevaeh hold the title sometime, but I suspect that this time it might be the Home Wreckers. Whoever comes out on top I hope its a regular team.
