How about people you want to see a little bit less of ... Ref! C'mon! I havn't watched the volume 20s but I have been watching women's pro wrestling since the early 80s and the ref getting over-involved is much more common to these matches then the men's. Nobody wants to watch: Hosaka vs. Haze w/ the help of Drummond the Ref. How many Refs have you seen through the years actually grabbing Ric Flair and undoing a fig4? Or actually pulling the Rock off Foley? Doesn't happen. (generally speaking) But all too often the Ref in a women's match just jumps right on in there and breaks a hold. Or pushes somebody away. Or etc. On one hand it may be because Kurt Henning could actually hurt the Ref who is not as intimidated by, say for example, Lacey. On the other hand it may be a genuine lack of respect for the talented wrestler. Maybe a mixture of the two. The Ref is an extra, the stars are the wrestlers. Barring storyline influences (i.e. Teddy Long) or Guest Refs the Ref should never lay a hand on the star during the match. You got the 5-count and DQ power for that one, pal. I'm not impressed by your skill in jumping in there or waving your hand in her face (the backside of your hand does not look like it is in pain, however a wrestler's face may do some distance towards showing it, thus improving the show). This tendency is not solely a SHIMMER thing. I noticed it as far back as LPWA and before (like as far back as Richter and Moolah on the same tag team). To be certain it is not every match, or every Ref. But it is way more common during women's matches. That was the whole point of somebody coming to help somebody else when the heel was just going berserk on someone. Stay back in the locker room, ladies. The Ref will sort this stuff out for you. Allow a moment to put on a white lab coat, get my hair super curly, knock up an ex named Jordan and put both hands behind my head. Ok, ready? REEEE-HE-HEE-HEALLY? That is all. -AD PS...I have seen threads go off topic before but seriously?

As of right now the plan is for me to collect at shows all over throughout 2010 and donate the supplies locally. We are planning to do another collection when the next SHIMMER season starts. I would rather hold off and collect a ton at once than have them brought monthly considering I do not live near the Chicago area so someone else would have to house everything until I come back. But thanks for thinking of it!

Hey gang!
This may be a rambling post of sorts but I am beyond exhausted from this weekend. But here goes! First off, I want to say thank you to everyone that came out and supported SHIMMER this past weekend! It was an amazing weekend on so many levels.
Secondly, I owe an extra thank you to all of you who came out with dental supplies to donate to my project. I was overwhelmed with how much support and generousity you all showed. We raised:
41 large tubes of toothpaste 8 trial size tubes of toothpaste 102 adult toothbrushes 23 children toothbrushes 3 bottles of mouthwash 13 containers of floss
I realize that a group donation of this sorts sounded a bit strange when I was contacting the first recommended shelter but the woman working there actually HUNG UP on me when I called to arrange a drop off (a second phone call got me a heel promo from the same woman and a refusal to acknowledge what we were trying to do). However, her loss is another shelter's gain. So tomorrow, at 7:15 am, I will be meeting with Christine of New Moms Inc. to give them the boxes of supplies. New Moms is a wonderful group based in Chicago which helps support, educate and protect young moms who are in desperate situations, whether it be homelessness or escaping abuse. This organization gets these moms and their little ones back on their feet and helps them carve out a better future. For more information, please check out their site at: newmomsinc.org

No, I'm not going to PM you. I am referring to your Melina BS. It was stupid and you deserved to be told off and you're still pissed about it. So now you're starting an argument when there's nothing to argue about because I agree with you EXCEPT sometimes location should be taken into consideration when requested. And that was requested. STFU. I am sick of you. Enough. I am getting sick of every thread turning into a virtual pissing contest. Chill out, quit name calling or I am going to clean house and start tossing EVERYONE in my path. Got it? Act like children and I will treat you as such. This goes for the whole board. -AD

Seriously, this is not panty bunching material. Someone asks for help, people give suggestions. To argue about it is ridiculous.
And the person who mentioned Chikara said that THEY would go there, they did not suggest it for the OP.
Lighten the f up.

I would say that if you're training to be a wrestler, you shouldn't settle for the school which is geographically best for you - you go to the one which is just the best. Ding ding ding! We have a winner. -AD

In the October 2009 issue of Popular Science, there was a study called the "Global Affordability of Fluoride Toothpaste" (Globalization and Health, June 2008). The study found that tooth decay is the world's most common noncommunicable disease and points out that "cavity-related childhood malnutrition and infection can impair mental and physical development". The article goes on to explain how this affects the world but I began to wonder what I could do to help closer to home. Many people may not realize but I come from a dental background. I feel very passionately about helping the underprivileged find and receive adequate dental care. And here is where you guys come in.
At the November 8th SHIMMER show in Berwyn, IL. I will be collecting any donations fans can bring. Brand new toothbrushes for adults and children, unopened packages of toothpaste, floss, etc. Anything you can donate to help. Once collected, we will be donating them to a local organization who will distribute them to those in need. If this project is successful then I hope to be able to continue this practice on as many shows in 2010 that will let me.
If anyone has any questions please feel free to contact me directly. Thank you all in advance!
