I can't think of anyone whom deserves an appreciation thread more than Melissa does. And I'm with you as for turning back to heel status.

They never really turned her into a proper face. She just hangs out with faces (Daffney, Ms. Chif) now. I agree with ManamiToyotaFan (wow, this is the second time!) completely though. SHIMMER really needs more upper card heels. The actual *number* of heels is about even, but most of them are mid- and under-card.
And we need more outside brawling. Like the real deal. People having to duck out of their seats to avoid flying chairs. I'm talking about LCO levels of pandamonium.

Yeah, if she got a title match against Sara Del Rey, she'd smash sara's face in on a chair with the curbstomp. Melissa never lets me down in matches. She always gives her all and makes me happy. I also love what she does outside of wrestling including that A.I.D.S walk. And does she love video games? because she wore that Diggnation shirt, and one of the hosts of diggnation is kevin rose who was on the Screen Savers, which was on techtv, and the G4techtv. Eh, I don't know. She had a non-title match against Del Rey that, while okay, probably ranks as the worst SHIMMER main event I've seen. That it followed an epic Kong/Chif confrontation didn't help, but neither did an unexpected style clash between Del Rey and Melissa. The outside brawling didn't really seem to have the intensity you normally see, the matwork suffered because of the way they were selling the size difference (even when Melissa was on offense, which was most of the match, she didn't really seem capable of beating Del Rey), the announcing more or less reinforced that Del Rey wasn't going down, and the back work Melissa did didn't really seem to get sold until just after the Royal Butterfly hit (and the match was over). I'd like to see a heel Melissa go up against Allison Danger (has this happened already?), or the face Melissa versus Cindy Rogers, personally. If she really is going to hang around in TNA, it looks like she's likely to go heel. Not sure if there are any dream matches there besides Kong/Melissa. I "get" ODB, but I still think ODB/Melissa would be a train wreck. Gail Kim/Melissa could be good depending on how it's booked (Kim plays a good underdog)...Roxxi Leveaux is stuck in manager-land though, so that just leaves the two girls with the lesbian hoochie gimmick.

Yeah. I say throw out rules against weapons and change the ten count permanently to a 20 count. Let's go all out. If shimmer wants to be the american joshi, let's give it joshi rules. You still can't pull hair, and have to let go if someone reaches the ropes. I mean I wanna see melissa get so pissed off in a match that she takes off the railing, and tosses at the poor little girl who thought she was the baddest bitch in the land. Melissa will put her in her place really quickly. I mean I almost died a little inside at seeing melissa doing that whole winking smiling with the mouth wide open. I wanna see melissa give the fans the middle finger while she's stepping on the other girls face with a chair. LOL Joshi rules is kind of a contradiction in terms. When was the last time you saw a joshi ref stop someone from hair pulling? You're lucky to get a 5 count. Fists are common place, and there is no countout (just like the old All Japan). I understand how you feel though. Some wrestlers just seem to be natural faces or heels. You can argue that so and so can do both, and maybe they can, but as a generalization, most wrestlers have a role they're born to play. Melissa without unnecessary roughness and predatory behavior is like Lacey without trash talk, or Mutoh without Pro-Wres Love. In wrestling more than anything else, I love a good villain.

In all fairness guys. I could turn a World War II documentary thread into a tribute to Lacey some how. But Cheerleade rMelissa does deserve the recognition!

Melissa/Kong have had 3 matches? Geez, I really have to look into this Chickfight thing. I avoided it based on the name...

Yeah, volume 5 has heel melissa/danger, and I think on veoh they have a match between heel melissa/danger where melissa swings her through the chairs Thanks MTF [that's short for ManamiToyotaFan, which I didn't want to have to spell out ... go figure!] for pointing out the Melissa vs Allison Danger match [and using one of my pics in support . That was from World-1 Queen's Cup action in January of last year. It was quite a good match and the outside the ring brawling was pretty intense. It was preceded during the intermission by an unsolicited attack on Allison by Melissa. I agree that Melissa makes an outstanding heel, in quite a different way than Lacey, let's say. If you want to see more pics from the match, check out this album: www.wrestlinwally.com/gallery/main.php?g2_itemId=46770&g2_page=12You'll see the very end of Allison's match against Cindy Rogers, then the aftermath of the intermission attack, then the match.

Heh, that won't save you. Hokuto marks punish transgressions with Northern Lights Bombs.
Returning to the topic of Melissa, I'm not seeing any mention of her (or whoever that is in the niqab) in the Impact spoilers for tonight, I'm afraid.

Patience people and remember in TNA storylines don't advance for several months; at least the ones involving the women. Melissa may be here as Gail Kim's next opponent. If I may do a little fantasy booking:
I don't know what the deal is, but it looks like Gail Kim is off television for a little while to sell that Kong did more damage to her than anticipated. Around Lockdown, she returns and wants revenge and thus we get the final encounter in six sides of steel (WHICH WILL RULE!). At Lockdown, Melissa (or whatever her name will be) may or may not cost Gail her chance to regain the title. However it plays out, Gail moves on to battling with Melissa while Kong also begins a feud with another woman in the division. My personal choice is Roxxi so that we can see more of their greatness that we saw in SHIMMER; besides Nikki deserves way more than being silent sidekick to the Outlaws who should've retired 'new ages' ago.
It seems to be worth the wait to me. The TNA women's division hasn't let us down yet, and I'll even go as far as to say that it has replaced the X Division as what separates TNA from WWE.

ChickFight is basicly all we have here in England but thats no bad thing!
Ever since I first caught wind of ChickFight I have been hooked (personally the name doesn't bother me, it's certainly no more offensive than Diva's or the one I hate the most which is Knockouts but i can see why some people have a problem with it. It was on ChickFight that I heard about Shimmer. The Cheerleader Melissa charecter we get over here pisses all over the USA version. She is a killing machine. Her matches with Wesna, Eden Black and even Sweet Saraya (who seems to be one the most overrated wrestlers here but for some reason is over) have become legendary. They don't even feel like wrestling matches but more of true all out fights. When you're there watching it live there is a part of you that is actally worried about your own physical safety!
Anyone who has seen these matches will know what I mean. When Melissa is wrestling - stand well back or you might find yourself a part of the match. My favourite Melissa match has to be with Wesna from ChickFight 9. 45minutes of pure insanity. It's great!
Shimmer needs heel machine Melissa!

Sweet Saraya (who seems to be one the most overrated wrestlers here but for some reason is over) ! Sweet Saraya over-rated!? Are you nuts!? Saraya is the most over looked talent in womens wrestling! An absolute wrestling machine, how Saraya has not become more well known on a global scale is beyond me. I agree with the Melissa statement though - anyone who has not seen the merciless, emotionless, psychotic killing-machine we are treated to over here in the UK should REALLY check it out. ....and as awesome as her brawl with Wesna was (and it WAS!), I seriously recommend people check out Saraya/Melissa II from June last year where Saraya suffered her injury. That, boys n'girls, is how a true grudge match is done - intensity, hatred, realism and an audience fearing for their life! Brilliant! Damn, WHAT a fight!!

All I've heard of Sweet Saraya was that she best the best in Europe. But that's interesting you call her over-rated, I might just look into her matches and judge for myself.

I might be a bit to quick to call her overrated as I've only seen 3 matches. 2 Were with Melissa and the other was with the person who she was going on about being her best student called Destiny. The first match from ChickFight 7 I really didn't like. It just seemed so slow and random and unbelievable. What the heck was that headscissors all about? The only thing that saved it was the post-match angle. The second match was with Destiny and I hated it so much my eyes hurt and apparently her matches Destiny are supposed to be some of her best. The third match being the Melissa-Saraya brawl. By this point Melissa's ChickFight persona had really come into full effect and it was awesome...Seriously awesome. And to be fair both Melissa and Saraya gave 110%. It WAS awesome.
