16. Did you follow American women's wrestling prior to becoming a fan of SHIMMER? If so, how long have you been a fan of American women's wrestling, and which companies did you watch? Woooo!, don't get me started. I've been a fan of women wrestling since I was 6. I became a fan when I saw the movie "All The Marbles". I knew I liked seeing women in action after that movie. I watched GLOW, but didn't like it cause it was corny. I liked POWW and LPWA back in the late 80's and 90's. The old school AWA women's division with Candi Divine, Sherri Martel, Madusa, Wendi Ritcher, Black Venus, was good also. Some of those matches was one-sided. I like a good one-sided match here and there for personal reasons(heh heh).

17. Do you follow foreign women's wrestling? If so, what companies do you watch? AAA/LLF(mexican women w/ Faby Apache, Tiffany Marcela, and Sara Stock) when they have women singles and tag team matches. IWA(Puetro Rican fed) when they have women matches. Arison(japanese) and Joshi(japanese). I follow alot of old school 80's japaneses women wrestling because it is more exciting. The women were more aggressive(and less like the men as far a copy cat), performed alot of high impact moves and multiple finishing moves, and they were smaller but the action was quicker and more intense than the wrestlers today.

18. Do you closely follow any other American women's wrestling promotion(s)? If so, which one(s)? Shimmer is the biggest women fed in town right now. I haven't heard of any other fed out there with all females.

19. What wrestlers would you like to see in SHIMMER who have yet to appear on our DVD series? Faby Apache, Tiffany, Venus, Crystal White, Marcela, La Chacala, Luna Magica, Princess Yara, Diana La Cazadora, Pricess Sugey, Justiciera, Brandi Wine.


20. Other than DVDs, what other types of merchandise would you like to see offered by SHIMMER? More variety of wrestling matches. They don't all have to be main events when the company is just starting out :-)

21. If you could change one thing about SHIMMER, what would it be? Variety of styles(high flyers, mat techs, brawlers, all high impact,etc). Something different than the men, cuz then noone will be able to judge and compare. People will either like it or don't like it for whatever reason, but they won't be able to say it's not original.

Sarah Stock.

Yes, the Volume 9/10 taping and the Volume 15/16 taping.

15. What is your favorite wrestling promotion (other than SHIMMER)?

Currently, I'm most consistently entertained by CHIKARA but probably spend most of my time watching WWE due to the ease/cost of access. My favorite of all time is Jim Crockett Promotions during the Four Horsemen era.

16. Did you follow American women's wrestling prior to becoming a fan of SHIMMER? If so, how long have you been a fan of American women's wrestling, and which companies did you watch?

I wouldn't say that I followed US women's wrestling closely prior to SHIMMER, but I knew it existed on some level and owned some tapes of women's promotions like GLOW (mainly for the unintentional comedy) and the LPWA. Prior to the WWF's revival of the Women's Title in the late 90's, I also gravitated towards women's matches put on by predominantly male promotions, often because they featured talented wrestlers who you didn't get an opportunity to see every day on television.

17. Do you follow foreign women's wrestling? If so, what companies do you watch?

Currently, no. However, when I would buy/trade tapes in the late 90's I got my hands on several All Japan Womens shows. I've also seen a bit of ARSION.

18. Do you closely follow any other American women's wrestling promotion(s)? If so, which one(s)?

No.

19. What wrestlers would you like to see in SHIMMER who have yet to appear on our DVD series?

Mickie Knuckles, in large part because of the work I've seen her do with current members of the SHIMMER roster in IWA-MS.

20. Other than DVDs, what other types of merchandise would you like to see offered by SHIMMER?

I generally don't buy merchandise from wrestling companies aside from DVDs, so I'm probably not the best person to answer this question. However, I might buy some wrestler-specific shirts (depending on the design) if SHIMMER marketed them for members of the roster who do not market their own, similar to what ROH does.

21. If you could change one thing about SHIMMER, what would it be?

I'm fairly happy with the product but might like to see an extra storyline or two for the women on the undercard, like the Portia Perezes and Eden Blacks of the world. Now it seems like the only real feuds occur between the main eventers or women on their way to the main event (e.g. Nikki Roxx/Cindy Rogers).

I'd cover up that restroom sign that's always on the hard camera. I always notice that on the DVDs, and I cracked up when I saw it live.

In that case problem solved. I could live with flying to Chicago for shows. We make it a fun couple of days.

Had read a number of positive reports on the shows elsewhere on the internet, as well as some of the talent (particulary Rebecca Knox). Bought volume 3 from ROHwrestling.com last September as a 'sampler,' and went on from there.

One thing that TNA does do that I agree with is there 'collectors' merchandise, which are low cost, high return items. As a f'r'instance, the tourney competitors photo that Wally took before the shows in June. Print that up professionally and get the women to sign it, I think that'd sell.

Oh, yes, going back to the LPWA in the early 90s. I can still remember the match that I stumbled across on cable after getting home from school: Malia Hosaka vs. the Magnificent Mimi, ending with a DQ win for Hosaka after Mimi's manager broke up the count, and Malia being saved from a beatdown by Bambi (in a neckbrace!). To that point, my experience with women's wrestling had been confined to GLOW and the (very) rare Misty Blue match on Mid-Atlantic Wrestling broadcasts. But that match hooked me. Since then, I've followed whatever I could find--PGWA, WWW, IndyGurlz, you name it.

17. Do you follow foreign women's wrestling? If so, what companies do you watch? Not as closely, but what I can. Anything I can get my hands on out of Japan, and the LLF in Mexico.

20. Other than DVDs, what other types of merchandise would you like to see offered by SHIMMER? That's actually a good question, and off the top of my head, I can't think of anything.

21. If you could change one thing about SHIMMER, what would it be? Honestly, as much as I love the Eagles Club, I'd probably start looking into a larger base venue in the Chicago area. When it sells out, it can be almost impossible to move around at intermission to visit the concession area or the gimmick tables. I don't know if you could find anything as spacious as the auditorium in Inverness, but that was just about perfect. Also, the lighting in the Eagles Club can make point and shoot photography almost impossible--by contrast with Inverness again, the lighting there was much more favorable.
