Also, I know of a few ladies that worked in some of our local promotions (Heartland Wrestling Association, Independent Pro Wrestling Association, Unified Championship Wrestling, 1st Class Wrestling, etc.) that have competed in SHIMMER, such as Hailey Hatred (I knew her when she was still Bobbi Jo Jablonski in the Heartland Wrestling Association), Nevaeh, and Mena Libra (I met her when she was working at IPWA shows in Dayton with her husband Tommy Treznik)

6. What was the first SHIMMER DVD you purchased, and when did you buy it? Sadly, I don't own any SHIMMER DVDs (at least not yet, but I'm interested in purchasing some in the future)

I only get to see women's wrestling when it comes to television, and since I don't have cable, I only get to see wrestling when ROH comes on ABC-22 TV (ABC Affiliate) or WRGT-45 TV (FOX TV Affiliate).

5. How did you first learn about SHIMMER? I stumbled across it after discovering Britani Knight in a TEW 2010 real world mod & deciding to look up some of her matches.

6. What was the first SHIMMER DVD you purchased, and when did you buy it? Volumes 38 & 41-46. Just checked and they arrived through my door in late August 2012.

7. Which Volumes of the SHIMMER DVD series do you currently own? As above, volume 38 and volumes 41-46, although I'll be ordering 47-52 when they're all available.

8. Which are your Top 3 favorite Volumes in the series? 44 tops the list, but I can't really decide after that.

9. Who are your Top 5 favorite SHIMMER wrestlers? Kana, Saraya Knight...Athena...Kellie Skater & Jessie McKay. Veda Scott would be in there, but I prefer her heel stuff outside SHIMMER, so I've left her out. A lot of that list could change at any time as well.

10. Who do you think is the best heel in SHIMMER? Saraya.

11. Who do you think is the best babyface in SHIMMER? In a fortnight it'll probably be Serena. Until then, probably someone like LuFisto.

12. What are your Top 3 favorite SHIMMER matches? Kana v LuFisto from vol. 44 is top, then I'm not really sure. Maybe Del Rey v Rush from the same show, if only for Courtney's dancing, and then something else - as you can tell, I'm not very good at compiling 'top x' lists.

13. Who do you think has the most promise out of the wrestlers who debuted in SHIMMER during the past year? I haven't actually seen any of the 2012 shows yet, so I'm just going to say Veda Scott, because she's awesome.

14. Have you been to any of the SHIMMER tapings live? If so, which ones? Sadly not.

15. What is your favorite wrestling promotion (other than SHIMMER)? Dunno, as I said when trying to pick my favourite SHIMMER matches, I suck at making 'top x' or 'favourite x' lists. It could be WWE, TNA, PWG or DGUSA, depending on how I feel on a given day.

16. Did you follow American women's wrestling prior to becoming a fan of SHIMMER? If so, how long have you been a fan of American women's wrestling, and which companies did you watch? Nope, SHIMMER was my first foray into women's wrestling beyond WWE & TNA.

17. Do you follow foreign women's wrestling? If so, what companies do you watch? Not properly, although I do watch odd REINA, STARDOM, WAVE & Ice Ribbon matches on YouTube, and I suppose nCw:FF, Eve & Bellatrix count as foreign for the purpose of this question, so they can join the list too.

18. Do you closely follow any other American women's wrestling promotion(s)? If so, which one(s)? Not closely enough to count, although I'm trying to get up to speed with nCw:FF, SHINE, WSU & the AIW Girl's Night Out shows.

19. What wrestlers would you like to see in SHIMMER who have yet to appear on our DVD series? Kay Lee Ray, Addy Starr & Ivelisse (although I guess she's unlikely given her status with TNA).

20. Other than DVDs, what other types of merchandise would you like to see offered by SHIMMER? Some shirts & hoodies I guess, both SHIMMER branded & for some of the girls - if you could find a way to make a 'Portia Perez Hates Me' shirt available online I'd snap that up like a moody piranha.

21. If you could change one thing about SHIMMER, what would it be? Move it to England. That, or maybe a bigger venue/one that can do iPPV's so I don't have to wait months to see every show.

Probably WWE, with Chikara being a close second.

Aside from mainstream wrestling companies' division, which I've been an on and off fan of from time to time, not really.

No.

18. Do you closely follow any other American women's wrestling promotion(s)? If so, which one(s)?
Shine. I actually started watching their ippvs before I decided to dive into Shimmer's catalog. As it turns out, their product is a good primer for Shimmer's current product.

19. What wrestlers would you like to see in SHIMMER who have yet to appear on our DVD series?
Not entirely sure that they haven't debuted in Shimmer or not, but I'm becoming a big fan of Jessicka Havok, Tina San Antonio, and Kimberlee.

20. Other than DVDs, what other types of merchandise would you like to see offered by SHIMMER?
I'm a big fan of wrestling t-shirts that don't overtly scream "wrestling t-shirt", because I would like to wear them elsewhere. So something like that would be cool. Maybe a Regeneration-X/Doctor Who parody shirt or an anime-style Lufisto shirt.

21. If you could change one thing about SHIMMER, what would it be?
I honestly can't think of anything realistic or would be a major change. Obviously, having a SHIMMER taping every month would be nice, but I completely understand why that isn't happening. If I really had to pick something, maybe have a rotating group of color commentators to work with Prazak. Portia's commentary is awesome, but it wouldn't be terrible to hear Allison Danger do it again or maybe a Courtney Rush or Leva Bates. Could even be a good way to get to know newer wrestlers better perhaps.

Yes, I've been a fan of women's wrestling my entir life.  Watch all of the GLOW shows and the other David McLean programs.  Watched I believe it was PWA, (Reggie Bennett/Denise Storm/Misty Blue, etc), then the Divas.

5. How did you first learn about SHIMMER?

Heard about it through message forums. What made me a fan is somebody (forgot who) mentioned how Portia Perez is one of their favourite wrestlers. Curious to see who that was I searched her on youtube and found that promo she did in the garden for Shine. Loved it. Wanted to watch more of her stuff so I picked up one of the volumes and have discovered my new favourite wrestling promotion.

6. What was the first SHIMMER DVD you purchased, and when did you buy it?
41. Can't remember when!

7. Which Volumes of the SHIMMER DVD series do you currently own?
Most of them up to 47.

8. Which are your Top 3 favorite Volumes in the series?
Hard to say! I did really enjoy 29-32 though. Some of the girls had noticeably improved (Cat Power, Cruise, Skater) the Joshi girls turned up and Madison Eagles took the throne!

9. Who are your Top 5 favorite SHIMMER wrestlers?
I really can't out this in any order I'm afraid. . .

Sara Del Ray: Well duhh. She's the soul of Shimmer. Her heel run where she was terrorizing the blue eyed mid card girls was absolutely brilliant and turned many of them into credible Shimmer stars. The best female wrestler of the last ten years if you ask me, and that includes the joshi girls.

Portia Perez: Such a despicable character. Great old school heel. Has a great sense of when to do what, and she never overdoes things.

Kellie Skater: Just so, so fun to watch.

Sweet Saraya: A good old English bruiser. The most terrifying person in all wrestling. She can also be quite funny when she's in a 'better' mood.

Madison Eagles: Noticed a pattern yet? I'm a sucker for the heels! Madison is just absolute class at everything she does.. She's the best Shimmer champion there's been if you ask me and I loved how she slowly earned the Shimmer fans respect. CAN'T WAIT for her return.

10. Who do you think is the best heel in SHIMMER?
It just has to be Portia. Eagle's as the arrogant, self entitled champion runs close though, although the run was too short lived. 'Eyebrows' Del Rey and Saraya are up there too. (in fact Saraya is probably the answer but I haven't got up to her title run in my viewing yet.)

Lufisto. She's so adorable. Which is weird considering she's basically a heel anyway. Honourable mentions to Nikki Roxx, Daizee, Jessie Mckay, Courtney Rush . .

1. Eagles vs Mckay. Jessie is such a great spirited underdog. Madison is Madison and Madison is no.1.
2. Melissa/ Mschif vs Del Rey/ Danger. THe catalyst for Sara's AWESOME heel turn.

Been a WWE fan since I was a kid. It can be frustrating but it has great bits. WWE has mostly been fantastic in 2013. I also enjoy SWA and ICW out of Scotland. All the other 'big name' US indies I find to be pretty horrible.

16. Did you follow American women's wrestling prior to becoming a fan of SHIMMER? If so, how long have you been a fan of American women's wrestling, and which companies did you watch? NO.

Occaisnally follow the odd bit of JWP Stardom etc. I really don't like the current joshi style though (or Japanese wrestling in general) but I'm a big fan of classic AJW and GAEA. Akira Hokuto, Chigusa Nayago, Bull Nakano, Mayumi Ozaki . . . all that good stuff.

I mentioned this in another thread, but the only thing that has really bothered me is the formula of the midcard tag matches. Too often the babyfaces look stupid. Mix it up a bit. To be fair, I haven't noticed it so much in my recent volume viewing so things might have changed.  Also, has there been a heel vs heel match yet? Do one! (Told you I'm a heel mark).

maybe in 2009/2010, with Vol.24, 25 or 26, because an Aussie friend (A.J.Maggot in sydney,new south wales) told me about killer wrestlers he knew would impress me, incuding Kellie Skater, Jessie McKay, and Tenille Tayla (now she is 'Emma' in the WWE).

No, probably never will, unless you visit the Toronto or Hamilton, Ontario areas.

15. What is your favorite wrestling promotion (other than SHIMMER)?
none, since ECW folded (that includes the original, AND the repackaged WWE effort).
A couple times, I checked out WWE's NXT tv show because ex-SHIMMER stars are there, but they did not have enough screen time, so was not motivated to pursue it.

16. Did you follow American women's wrestling prior to becoming a fan of SHIMMER? If so, how long have you been a fan of American women's wrestling, and which companies did you watch?
No, did not really know about it, except for some advertisements in magazines, selling lingerie matches that were filmed in living rooms.(I don't know if there is a real promotion for that?)

17. Do you follow foreign women's wrestling? If so, what companies do you watch?
sometimes I look at PWWA (Australia), NCW Femme Fatales (Quebec), & ECCW (British Columbia).

No, do not follow/purchase them, but am aware of some of them, like SHINE.

white t-shirts with Shimmer logo. longsleeve shirts. 1970s-1980s Baseball jersey rockshirt-style with the 3/4 sleeves. Toques (ski hats/winter hat). Beanies/skull caps.

More bonus features on the dvd's. eg. more interviews. and more fun pieces, like that backstage footage between matches.
I keep hearing about the after-event get togethers and some of them sound like they were pretty hilarious. Nobody was rolling film ?

Since everything is online, and postage always increases, this next idea probably won;t ever happen -
How about a plain typewritten printed newsletter 2 or 3 times a year with exclusive interviews / B & W photos, that we can order, like how fanclubs used to be run?

just want to add, about the fave wrestlers - I like the whole roster. In ALL of the dvd's I own, sure, there are some matches that aren't great, but at least, all of them are equal to WWF/WWE quality. I am a guy that used to love the weekend TV shows like METAL with the "lower-mid card" stars, and appreciate anyone that makes a effort.

Hard for me not to write in the survey about the ones I recognize the most, but also love more , like Ms.Natural, Mena Libra, Christina Von Eerie, Melanie Cruise, the Made in Sin tagteam,
Nevaeh and Sassy Stephie, and it is way cool that Nikki Storm is in, seen some stuff online and this will be great, looking forward to the next dvd's!

Just in WWE, and I was always disappointed in the way it was treated, which is what piqued my interest in this promotion. Women wrestlers deserve to be headliners too.

I understand Shine is a sister promotion of Shimmer, but I haven't looked into it yet, and I don't know any others.

Other than mainstream wrestlers, I'm not familiar with any others. And the only mainstream ones that I'd pick would be Mickie James or Lisa Marie Varon.
