Portia's not exactly being awesome in this video, unless "awesome" means "being punched repeatedly for 15 seconds".

That is ridiculous. Lexxus was way too stiff.

Kinda funny that it takes something like this for people to realise Lexxus is a rubbish wrestler but anyway...

Ok. I'm re-watching Vol. 38 and Portia remains the greatest color commentater EVER.
The commentary on the Knight Dynasty v. 3S is just priceless.

Noticed that Portia hasn't wrestled (anywhere of note at least) for a couple of months since her tour of Japan. I guess she was resting up some injuries. Anyway, not too long until she's back in action.

Does Portia list her upcoming appearances anymore? I was checking her website but it has not been updated since 2011. There is an indy in my province she has appeared for before, and now they are touring and coming through my town, and I am wondering if she will be on this tour

Does anyone know if there is any way to get Portia Perez shirts? I was hoping there would be something of hers on sale at vol. 53, but no luck.

Portia's going to Australia in July for NHPW. She says she wants some of Kellie Skater whilst she's there.

Portia's perhaps my favourite wrestler in all of Shimmer, and, more importantly, the reason that I checked out Shimmer in the first place. Now I've come to like Shimmer to the point where it's the only wrestling promotion in the world (alongside WWE) that I actually care about. It sounds mad but she reminds me of someone like Mark Henry in a way. Not the most athletically gifted of wrestlers, and you won't see a lot of MOVEZ. But she gets that it's not what you do that is important, it's how and when you do it. When to cheat or to trash talk or give the babyface some shine or even do a bit stooge heel comedy. This is why Nicole Matthews is so great (as well being good athletically, although I think Portia is a better character). They're old school. She's a very good brawler too, her matches vs Serena and Danger are quite easily the best no DQ Shimmer matches I've seen so far (I'm up to vol 43). She's the most despicable heel in Shimmer and is only behind Paul Heyman and Red Lightning in being the biggest scumbag in the wrestling world if you ask me.
I have to minus points off her for some stuff she's done in the recent volumes I've watched though. It feels weird saying it but the only moment of Shimmer that I've outright hated was a thing that included Portia Perez. That 'rope running' comedy spot with Jessie Mckay on Vol 41 was ****ing awful and totally not the sort of thing you'd imagine the Perez character to do. Leave that **** to Chikara. The same can be said for the Leva Bates vs Mercedes match where Leva was doing the 'i'm surrounded by a shield' thing and Portia was on commentary buying it and going along with it whilst Dave Prazak was rightfully dismissing it for how stupid it was. Shouldn't that be the other way round? Just didn't seem consistent with the Portia character at all.
Anyway, shouldn't ramble negative. Smart wrestler, great promo, genius entrance music . . . her conflicting cuteness/hideousness causes wonderful friction and she pulls it off almost perfectly.

Whoever called the Canadian Ninjas transplanted Memphis heels as women was spot on. I don't see many wrestlers evoke that style, but Portia and Nicole pull it off so well.
