April 27th will be Special Edition III: The Million Dollar Dreamers, with special male guests "Million Dollar Man" Ted DiBiase and "The Innovator of Violence" Tommy Dreamer. Dreamer will be in a match against a male competitor, whilst DiBiase apparently has links to the Glamour Gym. Anyone who has a front row ticket gets priority to meet DiBiase and Dreamer before anyone else at the venue. www.evewrestling.com/events/2013/04/27/special-edition-iii-ft-ted-dibiase-tommy-dreamer

Nice to see Eve continuing to promote men's wrestling. It really doesn't get enough coverage and I don't think people give it a chance.

As was stated in the news update about two weeks ago, all Delphi Centre events are now going to be Special Edition shows as we're moving into other venues, (some but not all will be) with other promotions in other parts of the country for our all female shows. Its actually a good thing because it means we can run more events and as the first Special Edition event showed, the women are the focal point of the show (which in turn makes the shows more unique). I mean in 2012 we ran three separate events, two iPPVs and one "Special Edition" show (which featured 10 matches, 6 of which were all female, 3 were male and 1 was male v female which isn't a bad ratio in all reality). As it stands right now we currently have 8 events booked for the 2013 - 2 of which take place in the same month of February.
Now granted that may change as my family life will always come above everything else and there are some health issues at the moment but that currently is the plan and we wouldn't be able to put that volume of events out there that enable us to further expose our product to new audiences without these "Special Edition" events in the first place. I have NO interest in keeping EVE at a 'set level' if you will. I'll be completely honest and say keeping things the same bores me as I want to see constant improvement and growth. When I do things I'm not thinking of how that's going to benefit or help us now, I'm thinking long term and years down the line. And the format that we have in place for 2013 should mean that 2014/15 are really good and exciting years for us.

I see it as the likes of DiBiase and Dreamer drawing the fans in, yet the likes of Alpha, Storm, KLR, Shanna etc. are the ones who will be the key focal points.

IIRC people complained about the men's matches at the first Special Edition, yet the women were the focal point and put on great matches that stole the show. It was a huge success. Now this one will have two mainstream famous stars to draw new fans in, and the women will once again have the chance to change viewpoints and put on another great show. Dann, you obviously don't know what you're doing despite your years of experience...

I can only speak as a punter who's been to every Eve show to date, including the aforementioned Special Edition. And whilst the additional bar and toilet breaks during that show were useful (specifically because more opportunities to visit the former necessitated more trips to the latter!), from a financial point of view, I can't justify the trip to Sudbury for what is, in essence, 75% (at best) of a full Eve Show. Don't get me wrong, I can understand why Eve are doing it. I don't doubt the addition of guys on the roster (and 'big name' special guests) should bring in more local fans, so the absence of meself and maybe one or two other Eve fans who'll miss the show for the same reasons won't be a loss. And I'll still be at Preston and (hopefully) Nottingham for the proper shows.

As long as EVE come to London. Wouldn't mind them running the Garage, where Progress Wrestling run awesome shows.

Somewhere akin to The Garage would be superb though I have been offered a nightclub in Sutton it's just that you have three promotions who all run within a few miles of that place and I really don't need the drama that no doubt it would cause. So still on the look out.

Blue Nikita is off Saturday's card due to a car accident, so Kay Lee Ray will now face Alpha Female and Shanna in a three way.

It's a shame she'll miss the show, but hopefully it's not too serious (as it appears she may be at SEII). It's a little disappointing that Kay Lee is now in a three-way match, rather than in another singles match with an alternate opponent (although I don't doubt Eve tried to find a suitable replacement). But with all the tag action and the Rumble, there's now only one 'traditional' singles match left on the card, and that's the title match (unless Carmel does win the title the night before).

And how does it really differ from female wrestling? Not a dig at all, for what it's worth, just genuinely interested as to why someone would dismiss the fellas if they enjoy watching women's wrestling.

There'd be two singles matches if Carmel wins the title - would be Sakura/Storm, winner then gets Carmel right afterwards.

Out of curiosity, do you dislike men's wrestling, or just not interested in it? And how does it really differ from female wrestling? Dislike is probably a strong word. Disinterest would be a better fit. I used to watch the WWF/WWE and will dip into to TNA occassionally (simply cos it's on Freeview), but even going back to when I started watching wrestling, I was never especially interested in the actual wrestling. My interest was in the promos and the storylines and the personalities. I mean, I could watch The Rock on the mic for hours on end... but I'd get bored bandy watching any of his matches. As for how it differs? Well, they're blokes. That seems a pretty big difference, doesn't it? ;D Not a dig at all, for what it's worth, just genuinely interested as to why someone would dismiss the fellas if they enjoy watching women's wrestling. You could ask the same question to hundreds, maybe thousands of fans who are equally dismissive of women's wrestling. In basic terms, I'm just the flip side of those fans. Sure, I can't pretend there isn't a touch of shallow involved. Women are nicer to look at than men. But I honestly don't think it's just about that. After all, it's not like I only watch women in every other sport. I really dunno what it is. For whatever reason, when I see women wrestling, I buy into it more; the action, the skill, the story, the whole thing. But with guys, I just see blokes in tights looking a bit silly.
