Trying to see the glass is half full by using flawed reasoning that the title change to Sakura will somehow be great for everyone is pointless. The only positive was Alpha Female and Nikki Storm had a great match. Then the booking negated all of their hard work. Considering the momentum behind Storm leading into the show and the great title match that they pulled off, Storm should have remained champion for longer than two minutes. It's not the wrestling fan's job to try to see positives in foolish decisions. I'm not going to force myself to somehow be positive about something that I feel is very negative.

Your loss then. I trust that Dann Read has a plan for this and I'm willing to see it out. In the mean time this will hopefully lead to more opportunities for the EVE women. Nikki Storm's own arrogance was her undoing and in the end she paid for it. That's a damn good story line.

Dann quoted Raven in a conversation with him - "they don't see what's right in front of their eyes because they look so deep." So looks like what we saw in the ring was what it was, nothing more to it.

Nikki Storm's own arrogance was her undoing and in the end she paid for it. That's a damn good story line. I disagree. The problem was, for me, it didn't feel like it was about Nikki's arrogance. In the context of the night, it felt it was just about getting a few more bums on seats, figuratively speaking. Let's be honest, the show could have finished in a very similar fashion, with Nikki calling out Emi and challenging her to to a title match at a subsequent show, and we still could have had Nikki attack Emi and Emi come out on top to finish the show on a 'high' (for the neutrals who simply saw Nikki as a heel). But I'm struggling to see any real benefit of putting the belt on Emi, unless the hope is that Emi being Champion will somehow translate to more iPPV sales? But in the context of the night, and Eve as a whole, it just felt meaningless. Emi and Nikki have no real history. This wasn't the culmination of an epic feud or even an epic match. Thats why it felt like a stunt. To be honest, after her earlier beatdown, Janey could have come out and won the belt and THAT would have made more sense! Not to mention, after all the attention to detail regarding contracts and signings and announcements and declarations regarding the JPW title match, having the Eve title change hands in a not-even-really-a-match match in less than 30 seconds kinda cheapens it a little too.

Bit late on this, but I'd have to concur on being disappointed with Nikki losing the title. Yeah obviously Emi is class but it was just way too rushed. After going through the war with Alpha, Nikki deserved to hold onto the title for a while. She's improved show after show and it was a deserved reward. But to build her up with this mammoth unbeaten run only for it then to be swiftly ended was a bit baffling. She gained nothing from that main event win. On a similar note I don't think Alpha Female gained all that much out of her title reign either.
Some of the other booking was strange too. Rhia sadly seems to be stuck in a one step forward, one step back position at the minute. Having both established tag teams (Blossoms/Owens) lose was odd. I wasn't keen on Viper's face turn as she had previously made a great monster heel. Angelina Love was a let-down in the ring, and could have been used to try and put someone over but she just felt very meh.
There was some terrific wrestling on the show. Emi/KLR was excellent with some really believable near-falls, plus the pre-match contract signing & national anthems made the belt all the more prestigious. The no DQ title match was just absolutely insane Kirsty Love took her game up a few levels. April Davids, Blue Nikita, Erin Angel & KLR were rock-solid as usual.
It was my first exposure to some new talent and I liked them all. I found Yoneyama to be really fun and her Chaos Theory was fantastic. The Owens worked really well together, especially when they started to work a bit more heelish (I think a 10+min match between them & the Blossoms would be very good). Fiona Fraser looked a bit raw, but I enjoy the more technical style so I appreciated what she was trying to bring to her match. Bete Noire made for a good pairing with Viper.
I think it is a credit to EVE that their roster has so much depth and talent that the absence of a mainstay like the excellent Jenny Sjodin wasn't felt at all. So overall the show had some great wrestling, but with some frustrating booking.

In what I believe is the first overseas defence of the Pro Wrestling EVE Title, Emi Sakura will defend on December 20th at Gatoh Move against Hiroyo Matsumoto, who if I'm not mistaken, will become the first person to ever challenge for both this title and the SHIMMER Title.

It's not the first overseas defence - Jenny Sjodin put the belt on the line in a title vs title match against Finland's Aurora Flame for SWS in Malmo, Sweden on 13 August 2011. Sjodin won, making her a double champion. You are correct on the Matsumoto point, though.

Sakura and Matsumoto went to a time limit draw in Gatoh Move, so Sakura retains the Pro Wrestling EVE Title. Also, Kay Lee Ray and Riho lost to Hailey Hatred and Kaori Yoneyama - KLR was not involved in the decision.

However, seeing a few pics of KLR sharing a ring with Hailey Hatred make me very happy indeed. ;D

We've had a lot of people ask us about EVE Year End Awards, it's not something we had considered doing but on the basis of the amount of questions / suggestions we have had we have decided to relent! Therefore we will have a couple of days of fan voting on several awards before announcing winners on January 1st! Vote by sending us your Top 3 selections (in order) of each category by either sending us a message on Facebook ( www.facebook.com/EVEwrestling) , a DM on twitter ( prowrestlingeve ) or by email info@EVEwrestling.com . By all means feel free to comment on this but we will not use comments to tally up votes, votes will only count when sent through the means listed above. Categories are: Wrestler Of The Year: Match Of The Year: Most Underrated Wrestler (the wrestler you feel deserves more praise/attention than currently gets) Future Star Award (the wrestler who you believe will be a big star in 2013) My Favourite EVE Wrestler / Tag Team Is... (Fan Favourite Award) Its important to note that the winner of one of those awards will get a major opportunity fitting of the award they have won! So these Awards really will have an impact on the EVE events in 2013!
