Press release, with the big news that (a) it won't be on iPPV due to complications over the carrier, (b) the next show after this one will be on November 10th, and (c) Winter will be making her EVE debut. OK, so I'm assuming I'm in a minority around these parts, but I'll be honest (and as I've probably already made clear), blokes wrestling just ain't for me. Not to come off all v-posey, it's more your basic shallowness and superficiality, but it's just the way it is. I'll happily watch it on the telly, but that's always been more for the entertainment aspect of "sports entertainment". In terms of the actual matches, I'm pretty much meh when it comes to guys in the ring. To be fair, I don't consider my attitude to be wholly different to a large portion of mainstream wrestling fans, who are equally dismissive of women in the industry. And I think it's only natural to be a little disappointed when one of the UK's very few all-female promotions essentially has to 'rely' on a couple of male matches to bring the bunce in. Which, unless I'm misreading it, is basically what that press release is saying, right? Again, as yet, we still don't have the complete picture. If, as the press release states, the male matches are indeed a 'compliment' to a FULL Eve taping, then groovy. If we're still getting 8 or 9 women's bouts, no harm, no foul. However, if the male matches are forming part of the show, and we're left with only maybe 5 or 6 Eve matches, then I'll have to consider if it's worth making the trip. I don't say that as some kind of silly boycott/throwing-me-toys-out-of the-pram sulk; bottom line, it's just me own preferences. And I'd be interested to hear where the other EVE regulars stand.

I'm in Illinois, so I don't count, but the impression I got from the press release is they really need the support of the fans who would be able to attend live, due to the inability to do IPPV.

I'm in Illinois, so I don't count, but the impression I got from the press release is they really need the support of the fans who would be able to attend live, due to the inability to do IPPV. Yeah, I get that seems to be the idea behind it. But will that work? The suggestion is that more people will turn up to this show, cos of the inclusion of a few male bouts, on the basis that it will bring in fans who otherwise wouldn't attend an all-female event. But speaking as someone from the other side of that fence, if there was a male show taking place and the promoter put three guest female matches on it, I don't know if that would be enough to convince me to attend, as someone with little-to-no interest in seeing guys wrestle. I dunno, I guess I'm looking at this from a... maybe not naive, but an idealistic perspective. Cos I've been to every Eve show to date and I know how awesome each and every one of 'em has been. So it's frustrating to discover that apparantly, when it comes to putting bums on seats, that just isn't enough. And when push comes to shove, you still need to get the guys in to bring the punters in.

Well it says it's a full DVD taping so I'd expect that to mean its a full EVE show with three special men's matches from different promotions in Europe. You'd still get your money's worth.
Which that could be fantastic for the EVE women. Say the guys have no knowledge of what these women can do beforehand and they're impressed. They go back to their home promotions wherever they are in Europe and convince the promoters/owners to bring in some of the EVE talent to face each other or local female talent. Bam - you've got more fans exposed and more bookings for the women which is more money, experience and exposure.
this could be a really good thing in the long run as I imagine EVE needs all the support it can get. If I lived in the UK I'd make all the effort I could to attend.

I don't think the men will appear on the DVD, probably as a special attraction for the live fans.

Well, I called one of the returning wrestlers. Not that there were many to choose from, so it's not a huge shocker.
April Davids vs Blue Nikita has just been announced for July 14th.

Their FB page says that she is facing Jenny Sjodin. Have they changed it around, or is it two matches? Great to see that they are using Blue Nikita again anyway.

Dunno why I typed April!! Apparantly I'm good at predicting wrestlers, but struggle with getting it right once they've actually been anounced! ;D

This is awesome news. Blue Nikita has been one of my favourites for a few years now so I'm glad she's returning to Eve Her against Jenny should be fantastic.

Kirsty Love vs Rhia O'Reilly has (sort of) been annnounced for the show. I say sort of, cos the guy who designed the very cool match graphic has posted it already. It's down as a 'must win' match, but until the official announcement's made, I don't know what the context of that is.
Hopefully it's not a must win to stay on the roster gimmick, cos Eve would miss both of these women at a subsequent show.
Also, does anyone think the Eve Tag Titles have been put on the back burner for now? After just one tournament match, where the Blossoms beat Shanna and Nikki, it's all gone a bit quiet.

If the must win match is to keep a spot on the roster, I would hope the Rhia will win. I have become more and more impressed with her. Im not extremely familiar with Love.
I have been curious about the Tag Titles as well. It was odd that there was just a random match with nothing else following. It would have been nice to have the tourney finals at this upcoming show.

Well it's the first time I've posted on here, but it seems like as good a time as any. Thank you for the kind words about the graphic, I was pretty happy with how it turned out. EVE did announce the match on Twitter this morning, before I posted it on Facebook, otherwise I'd have held off As for "Must Win" match, your guess is as good as mine
