^ Ah, thanks. Now that I think about it though; I'm trying to find a way from the rodeway to berwyn, not from the airport. Seeing as I'll probably have to check in and all that.
It occurs to me that this will be my first out-of-state vacation, so I've got a lot of planning to do. So I'll probably be asking a lot of these questions on here trying not to sound like a total bonehead.

There really is no public transportation to go between the two locations. As I often say, you're staying at a hotel in which at least half the people are there for SHIMMER. Get a ride. Save the $10 or so on a cab. I stand corrected. Pace Route 302 can get you there for the Saturday show, but not on Sunday. For Sunday, you'd have to walk two miles, with a BNSF ride in between. So again, we're all friends (mostly). Rides!

^ Okay cool. Thanks for the info. I was just concerned about not being able to get a ride since I don't know anybody there. But, hell if that's the case then it makes life a lot easier.

Ben Ward mentioned in the Facebook group about how through Skyscanner you could get a flight from the UK around £100 cheaper. I've just had a look, and at the moment, the cheapest direct is with Air Canada for £485, which is about £20-£30 cheaper than everything else at the moment. At this point, I may have to go with them, and I'm not complaining about that, as I enjoyed flying with them to Toronto.

Air Canada is one of the best airlines I've ever flown with, though Virgin still tops the list... until I fly British Airways anyway.

Right, I was planning on going to WrestleCon this year for my first SHIMMER show, but that ended up falling through due to a combination of (a) someone at work having already taken that week off, meaning I couldn't have the holiday; and (b) me not realising I need a visa, as I've not been to America since I was four and have no idea about any of that stuff.
Anyway, I've since decided that I want to go to Chicago for the 58-61 tapings, so I've decided to consult the experts in order to make sure I don't miss anything out.
Basically, I'm lazy and I'd like some advice on things like the best airport to try and fly to (from Heathrow ideally, unless it's worth me going somewhere else to get a better end result), and if there are any bits of paperwork etc I need to sort out to stop me getting cavity searched and sent back to England.
So yeah, help an idiot out please guys (which I of course mean as 'an informal term for a group of people of either gender' not 'all you blokes')...

I come from London, so I fly from Heathrow to O'Hare. And make sure you get an ESTA (Electronic System for Travel Authorisation) done, which gives you a permit to travel to the States for two years.

Name: Reid Attending shows: AAW, SHIMMER 54-57 Busing in to: Union Station, Chicago Date and Time: April 12th, 8:00 am Busing Home to: Minneapolis, MN Date and Time: April 15th, 3:00 pm Ability to rent and drive a car: Yes, but to cut down on costs, I'll be riding with Greg Knowledge of the area: Limited Best way to contact (E-Mail, or Private Message): PM or Twitter @reidallen77 Other Information: Staying at the Rodeway with Shanti and Jon. Although anybody willing to put me up in a room with less people would be appreciated. I can certainly afford to pay, I just ran out of time to get a room at the Rodeway and don't feel like hoteling out near the airport since I don't want to have to put all those extra miles on Greg's car.

Cool, thanks for the advice. Is there anything else I'd need to apply for or does an ESTA cover everything? A look at the website suggests that's it, but it never hurts to double check. The whole process is cheaper & quicker than I expected too, which is nice.

For those coming into town who would like to combine wrestling and some pretty good food check out Squared Circle if you get a chance. Lisa Marie Varon (Tara/Victoria) owns it, is onsite pretty much all the time, and has wrestling on the tv's constantly. And the food is actually good, not some sort of WWF restaurant crap. Also, if you bring some SHIMMER dvd's with, she'd probably put them on the tv's there thesquaredcircle.biz/

Anybody have suggestions getting to the Oct 19th show from Detroit? Wolverine. And once you get to Union Station, there are a variety of ways to get to the Eagle's Club, from Metra trains, to CTA subways, to CTA buses. I suggest looking at Google Maps now and looking for directions between Union Station and the Eagle's Club via transit.

Anybody have suggestions getting to the Oct 19th show from Detroit? Southwest's pretty cheap right now and Midway airport isn't that far from the Rodeway/Eagles Club.
