I've already booked a room at the Rodeway. If anybody is interested in splitting it let me know ASAP so I can upgrade it to a double. (Fair warning: I snore sometimes.)

BTW, anybody going to the Blackhawks game on the Monday after SHIMMER? I want to go just to Boo them. I do not like the Blackhawks since they are my team's strongest rival.

We haven't set anything up yet, but we do plan on attempting some sort of gathering at Cigars & Stripes again... either Monday night or Friday afternoon prior to AAW. That is, if enough people are in town early enough, or plan on leaving leaving after Monday. Either way, it's doubtful many of the wrestlers would be able to swing it in terms of their own travel schedules. The only reason Monday night worked in October was the hurricane caused a ton of flight cancellations.

Worth remembering that the Cubs have their first homestand of the year April 8-18. Off day Monday the 15th, though. Just in case anyone has an extra day in town before the weekend to check out the reigning World Series champion Giants... or if you just want to catch a game at Wrigley before it's all renovated and whatnot. Not sure when single-game tickets go on sale through the team, it was early March last year. But online re-sellers already have some up, so there's that in the meantime.
Also a note for those making the trip to the New York area for Shimmer 53, NJ Transit has route 320 from the Port Authority bus terminal directly to Meadowlands Expo Center running every 15 minutes from 9:30am - 1:30pm, and the returning bus to NYC runs every 15-20 minutes after the show.

I'm flying in from LA, and am a first timer at this thing. I have no idea what to do and could use the help. Willing to split rooms and get a rental car if someone can help point me in the right direction. I've tried the travel agencies here, and most are either out of business or international flights only...Arrrgh!
Update: sorry for the mini-panic, booked everything through the Southwest Airlines site, and reserved a room at the Rodeway, so if anyone wants to split a room, hit me up.

But only if Iron Balls McArthur shows up, and Courtney brings her steel toed boots.

I'm close enough where I can take the train to and from Chicago's Union Station (I live in Racine, so I'd take the Amtrak from Sturtevant)...lodging would be the key issue for me though.
Leaning towards the Hi Hostel...does anybody know which Metra line would be best for me to go from there to Berwyn? (I'd likely need a ride from the station to the Eagles Club and vice versa).

You mean the Cicero stop on the BNSF line? It's the only 26th street stop I can see. If you're taking public transportation, you can get there in about 90 minutes, taking the Blue Line to downtown, walking to Union Station, and the BNSF line the rest of the way.
