I am not going to the show and have not been to any but do buy all the dvd's. I know I would be really bummed if Melissa was not on it and might not buy them because she is the main reason I buy them. I have grown to like others but she stands out as my favorite and with the loss of Serena, I dont know if I would buy the dvds knowing that my 2 favorites were not on the dvd (I know Serena wont be on it anyway because of the WWE). Also would like to see Sarah Stock at another show.

Big picture: The SHIMMER roster has grown so much that I can't see them doing one day any more without cutting A LOT of wrestlers. Even last time doing two days, Cat Power, Ariel, and Jessie McKay wrestled 3 out of the 4 tapings; The Experience, Daffney, and Allison Danger wrestled on 2 out of the 4. If the two-day taping format will be sacrificed for the 4 TNA women to appear, how many women will be cut?
As much as I hate to say it, the premise for SHIMMER was to give females on the independents a place to shine. Melissa, Kong, Ashley, and Daffney are contracted and they're on television. They don't really need SHIMMER. I would love for them to be there, but not at the cost of doing two days where many others could have a chance to wrestle.

I'm completely torn on the situation. This just sucks.
I'll still go either way though.

might sound like a stupid question but it was noted that the Eagles Club nixed November weekends. is there something in particular wrong with an earlier weekend in october or is tna being douches about that as well?

Ponder this. SHIMMER's very existence revolves around ticket and DVD sales. Are you going to sell more DVDs with Tenille, Kellie Skater, Jessie McKay, and Rayna Von Tash or Melissa, Kong, Daffney, and Stock? Yes, you want to get more girls more exposure, but SHIMMER also needs to make all the money they can so there are more shows in the future.

General note: Wrestling is about the only industry I can think of that is able to successfully operate under the assumption that the customer is always wrong. There are wrestlers as good as Daffney, Ashley, Melissa, and Kong in SHIMMER that could step up to fill their roles (and have done so in SHIMMER and other promotions). There's no reason to think quality would be sacrificed. It would be unfortunate to not have them, but it's doable. ROH has been in this situation several times. The show went on and it often exceeded initial expectations. That's the benefit of having brilliant bookers. But here's a tip:

Without the TNA talent appearing, we still have the following top level talent available:
- MsChif - Wesna - LuFisto - Danger - Del Rey - Daizee - Mercedes - Nikki
That's more than enough for the shows to be worth both attending and buying on DVD . . . if you choose not to just because Kong and Melissa aren't available, well, that's your loss.
(And we don't even KNOW they're not available yet . . . so a lot of this concern is premature anyway.)

Whilst I would prefer to see two days of matches (as I'd be flying in from the UK) and obviously a 'full' roster, to be honest, getting time away from work to get over there for a show is such an issue usually, I for one will be quite willing to somewhat compromise on those things for a weekend in November, as it means that my chances of attending increase about seventy percent!

I think my job has this thing where you can borrow money and they just deduct it out of my pay check. I guess I will try to do that. Sweet job, they'll sub you money for work you've not done yet? Trusting firm. Talking of payment for work you haven't done yet, the company I work for used to have the strangest terms ever! You were paid on the 7th of the month, but that was based upon one week in arrears and three weeks in advance! When I left my previous job (they paid 'usual' terms - all in arrears) on the Friday (at the very end of the month) to start at the new place on the following Monday, I obviously left with my monthly salary, plus monthly bonus, plus holiday pay, plus my month 'in - hand' salary, and so that made a quite nice lump sum. Then five days later (as the 7th was on a Sunday) my new firm then paid me my first month's salary! As you can imagine, a few beers were drunk that weekend... ;D

Right, back onto the topic at hand... If it was to be held in November, that's a pretty good result for anyone flying from Britain, as the prices for flights drop like a friggin' stone come the 11th month. However, whatever weekend it happens, I'll probably be there. *taps credit card nervously*

Hmm, it's an odd situation where I think you could probably do two tapings without the TNA talent and it'd be fine but four tapings without them might be too much. Of course we know that it'll likely be a great show anyway (cf ChickFight XI where Dann Read booked an excellent show despite Melissa being injured, someone being in a car crash and two people who were hoping to carpool with her cancelling on those grounds all three days before the event) but fairweather fans might not see the big names and not part with their money. I knew there had to be some karma payment for doing so well at Lord's

Well let's think about this logically... with TNA being arseholes about it, should Dave go ahead and run on the planned original dates, we would lose Melissa, Kong, Ashley, Daffney and Sarah Stock (should all of those still be on the TNA roster at the time and not cut.) With no offense to Kong & Melissa who are awesome not only as wrestlers but also as people, but would Shimmer TRULY suffer? The roster has exploded lately and is huge. No Ashley? That's not a huge loss by any stretch of the imagination. Daff is an awesome person but really never had anything resembling a Shimmer push so her loss wouldnt be a factor either. Stock hasnt wrestled in Shim for a long time. Then you factor in the loss of Serena (never a fan to begin with so I couldnt care less) and the injury to Hosaka (and Fyfe as well, was it?). You're looking at a roster of something close to 30 or 35 and potentially losing 8 of them? Hmm... but you STILL have Death Rey, Danger, Ninjas, Haze, Chif, Wrecking Crew, Nikki, my favorite girlfriend Jessie McKay, Skater, Eagles, etc etc etc....
I realize my opinion doesn't count but I say RUN THE DARN DOUBLE SHOT SHOWS AS PLANNED.
One major thing to consider, though, as far as Shimmer's future is concerned are the possible ramifications if Dave DOES it like this. TNA has a history of being douches so would they take this personally and ban all their talent from FUTURE Shim shows, no matter when they're held, as "punishment". This, to me, could be the major sticking point about all this.

It's a bit of a false argument to say quality over quantity when the quality would still be oustanding. I would be for maintaining the original set of dates, keeping four DVD tapings, and letting the remaining ladies show their stuff. It would seem to make more sense financially as well, unless, of course, there are a lot of people who consider Melissa and Kong as completely indispensible and would not buy the DVDs because of it. It's hard for me to believe there are a lot of people who would cut off their nose to spite their face in such a situation.
