Her friend posted this on the UKFF Chickfights thread. Apparently Chickfights managed to get this person to get hold of Rebecca after they found out she missed Shimmer and asked what was going on.
"Rebecca told me she won't be there. None of the promoters know this, so it's not their fault, but she texted me on Saturday night. Here is her statement on the matter:
QUOTE(Rebecca Knox) I'm so sorry. I've had crazy work and family commitments and wrestling has been the last thing on my mind. I know I've disappointed people, I'm real sorry, but I don’t think wrestling's for me at the moment."

SHIMMER has survived without her for, what, the last 12 volumes? (Counting the volume 17 and 18 tapings)
SHIMMER will be just fine.

Damn, that does suck. Since picking up a large quantity of SHIMMER DVDs that included Vol. 4, I've really taken a liking to K-Nox. I can understand and sympathize with her position, but it doesn't take long to get on a computer and shoot an e-mail saying that you won't be there, which I kind of wish she did, since it seems that she's burned a couple of major bridges.

I'd like to add in response to the people being harsh on her: remember she sustained a really serious injury wrestling and, as several people have mentioned, she's quite young. I mean when you were that age did you not sometimes do immature things?
Yeah it wasn't cool what she did to Dave but just keep those things in mind. I think the thing to do is just wish her well and move on.

You never knew, like someone said before maybe the head shots really DID mess up her way of thinking. Or maybe she, like a lot of people her age, just isn't that mature. Bingo. She's burning her bridges now so I don't expect to see her in the ring again. Who would book her now? It's too bad. She has a lot of talent and is a natural heat magnet. And her work got a lot of respect everywhere, including Japan. Maybe the injury has made her gun shy. Very unfortunate.

I think the thing to do is just wish her well and move on. Injuries and youth didn't stop people like Serena or Alexa from notifying promoters like Dave that they wouldn't be there, so that's not really an excuse. It's one thing to drop out of contact during an extended injury... she was under no obligation, everyone knew she was out, and if she didn't want to talk to anyone that was her prerogative... but to agree to be there and then just not show up is something else altogether. I know if I were a promoter, I wouldn't book her again until after at least six months of consistently showing that she was serious about wrestling again, and she could forget about any kind of push until at least another six months.

Obviously, it's disappointing, but none of us can know what is going on in her life at the moment and we should perhaps not be too quick to judge. If she is having real problems with her family and work, as the statement suggests, it seems to me that wrestling might not be her first priority. It might not even be anywhere near the top of the list.

Because she's having family and work issues, she can't make one phone call? It only takes a few minutes to call Dave and say things have come up and you won't be able to make the show.

I'm certainly disappointed. Rebecca was the the wrestler I most wanted to see return. That being said, I also am probably going to give her more of a benefit of the doubt than, say, Ann Brookstone. However, I still don't think I'd be posting beyond maybe one post to say how unprofessional she is. That's just me.
Based on what Dave said (and I have no reason to doubt him), it certainly seems that her no-showing without any kind of contact or qualifying it was a no-no. That speaks for itself. It's surprising and a little shocking. But Shimmer will move on and so will Rebecca. Like it has been said before, she had a very scary situation with that cranial infection, and she may feel that a transcontinental flight for what may be a risk of more of the same is not what she wants right now. Does that justify what she did? No, but at the same time, let's put it into context. She missed a wrestling show. If she's really out of the business, I guess she feels there really aren't any repercussions to her for this. That's a shame in my eyes.
However, this thread seems to have turned into a whipping post. Saying that Shimmer "outgrew" Knox awhile ago is unnecessary, and in my eyes, inaccurate, particularly when this so-called outgrowth was taking place while she was injured. Did Shimmer outgrow Mercedes? No. Will Shimmer outgrow Allison Danger? We all know the answer to that one. Everyone seems to be in agreement that what she did should have done better. Why not leave it at that?

Rebecca Knox is scheduled to participate in Chick Fight, this weekend. Let's see what happens before we jump to any more conclusions.

Ok I normally don't say anything, but this has peaked my attention.
What you guys are saying about Rebecca is fair and also logical, but as was stated above she had family issues and I doubt calling Dave was the last thing on her mind. Here let me give you an example:
Last year around August time frame I had no money in the bank and was set to go on a 6 month deployment even though I owed $26.50 to T-Mobile. I, of course being in the Navy and all, was entirely too busy to call them to tell them what was up and before I knew it I was on my way to Bahrain via flights. For the next 5 and a half months I recieved bills from T-Mobile and eventually a notice saying that my phone got turned off. When I came back in December I immediately went to a mall which has a T-Mobile store and explained myself to them. In the end they understood allowed me to get a new phone and plan with them with no punishment at all. Now does that make me immature for not calling T-Mobile and telling them what was up? And, no I couldn't call them over deployment.
Before you even say it, don't be all like, "Oh well your situation is different." When, if you think about it, is pretty much near the same as Rebecca's no-showing SHIMMER. She was entirely WAY too busy and just did not have time nor the patience to call Dave and tell him what was up.

Obviously, what she did was completely unprofessional and bridge-burning with the promotions, but I'm also in the let's not quite bury her on a personal level without knowing the whole story bandwagon.
