I am so there. I really like it how women's wrestling is getting reborn in America. Toyota vs. Haze is a bigger reason to come to any Chikara show than anything else I've seen them do this year.

Itsuki Yamazaki of the Jumping Bomb Angels will be on hand to support Manami Toyota next Sunday in NYC. Toyota and Yamazaki will be holding a meet & greet following the NYC show at Yamazaki's GO Restaurant on St. Mark's Place. You can RSVP to toyota.party@gmail.com to get a spot. I believe there are only 10 slots remaining. www.m-drop.com/archives/4428

1) Everyone should watch Akira Hokuto v Debbie Combs from WCW, it is a one-sided ass-kicking similar in certain respects to Kong v Leva Bates from TNA (where, according to one SHIMMER staffer, she was beaten "like she owed Kong money") 2) Anyone from the Midwest going to Chikara next weekend? Wanna give a broke-ass wrestling cameraman a ride? If so please PM me

"A husband of Itsuki Yamazaki"? Does she have more than one? Is Itsuki Yamazaki everybody's favorite wife?

Ok so apparently Manami Beat Daizee with her Japanese Ocean Cyclone Suplex. Diva dirt has a report from the match in case anyone was interested.

I was there in Baltimore last night. ;D
The crowd was super-hot for Toyota. Everyone knew we weren't going to be seeing a Korakuen Hall main event performance from Toyota, given her age and abuse her body has taken over the years, but that didn't matter. We were going to love anything and everything she did in that ring.
The match itself was pretty good. It was slow and methodical but fundamentally sound. The crowd, however, made it feel better than it actually was. Toyota hit all her trademarks except for the missle dropkick to the outside floor (nobody minded). I popped when she did the moonsault. It was a tad annoying see her no-sell some of Daizee's strikes, but considering how skinny Daizee looked, it was also an understandable reaction.
As for Daizee, I give her a ton of credit for doing what was right for business. The crowd wanted to see Toyota on offense, so Daizee spent a lot of the match on the defensive. This may sound blasphemous, but Daizee made Toyota look good in this match.
Anyway, the overall experience at Chikara was great. They pride themselves on making wrestling a clean, fun expereince and that's exactly what I felt at this show. I also must admit that Chikara was an appropriate promotion to feature Toyota. Had this match been shown at an ROH show, the crowd may have dismissed it for being less than amazing. That would never happen at Chikara.

Sara Del Rey submits to a CHIKARA Special from Toyota in the main event of today's show. Live reports say the match was completely insane.

Went to the NYC show and yeah, Manami is awesome. She and Quack did a sweet Doomsday Japanese Ocean Cyclone Suplex on Sara! She did all her spots but the dropkick to the outside and got plenty of huge reactions. Then after the show, you could get a Polaroid with her for $10, which I totally got.
In sadder news, Daizee got killed by a snake and a pharaoh. RIP Daizee.
Oh and Kellie Skater worked the merch tables.

Mike Quackenbush & {W}Manami Toyota (23:02 ~ CHIKARA Special) Claudio Castagnoli & {L}Sara Del Rey
Claudio with the Giant Swing on Toyota, but she gets a Rolling Cradle for a close two. Castagnoli does a second Giant Swing on Toyota followed by a dropkick from Del Rey but it cannot get the job done. Del Rey & Claudio hit a Spike Piledriver on Toyota! Quack breaks up the pin to keep hope alive! I don't know what the blue hell this is, but Toyota & Quack hit a Doomsday Japanese Ocean Cyclone Suplex! However, the cover is broken up by Castagnoli. Manami Toyota slaps on The CHIKARA Special and Del Rey taps for the victory in an awesome main event.
