I don't really understand why some people put so much effort into complaining that certain promotions don't add all of their favorite wrestlers to their existing rosters. Every promotion has their own roster of talent. They can't all book everybody, or else they would have 150 wrestlers on their roster. Saturyne doesn't work for SHIMMER. Ayumi Kurihara doesn't work for WSU. John Cena doesn't work for ROH. Hiroshi Tanahashi doesn't work for CZW. Crazy Mary Dobson doesn't work for Osaka Pro. Leva Bates doesn't work for CHIKARA. These are facts.

The answer to that is support your favorites where they are. And let bookers do the booking.

I think we set a bad precedent by having over 40 wrestlers on the roster once. The norm for any promotion should be 20-30.
As great as Leva is to have on a show, my guess is that the die hard CHIKARA fans who live in Florida would prefer to see all of the regular CHIKARA characters on the shows there, rather than local indie wrestlers who aren't a part of CHIKARA. They can see those wrestlers live all the time at other shows.

Leva's cosplaying character, though unique anywhere else, might be lost between all the other colorful characters in CHIKARA.
Thus, if we had to pick one of the many fine female wrestlers in Florida to make a guest appearance, Leva may be the wrong choice. How about Kimberly instead? She hates Leva's cosplay, so I think she can make an impression as a CHIKARA hater too.

I certainly respect CHIKARA's decision to book whoever they want to book. But, they do like to book one or two local talents when they travel to markets outside their home base of the northeat. They've used Leah Von Dutch in Canada, Amber ONeal in North Carolina, and they used Kong in Tampa on Friday night.
I think Leva fits with CHIKARA in more than just her cosplay ability. She is the embodiment of FUN. CHIKARA is all about fun. It just seems natural for them to come together at some point. Also, I would never insult her wrestling ability as it is quite good and that's another reason why she'd fit in so well.
I also think Courtney Rush, Rate Tank, and a bunch of other women would do well in CHIKARA, but for at least one weekend, Leva seemed to make the most sense. But, I respect CHIKARA not using her. I'm not upset or anything.

IMO CHIKARA would do well to snag any SHIMMER talent while they have the chance. CHIKARA is my favorite indie promotion aside from SHIMMER at the moment, and their talent pool isn't hurting. But, if Kellie, and MsChif, and Courtney, and Mercedez, and all of these amazing women are their at the building that day: what's the down side? There isn't one. It'll be an awesome weekend; that much we all know already.

I'd enjoy it if Leva was on CHIKARA, just as I would for many other wrestlers. But it seems that in Leva's case, there's been a lot of begging. Encouraging ballot stuffing. "Now or never!" There's nothing wrong with asking for your favorites to appear, but this whole thing just came across as akward.

How did this start? Nothing against Leva, but it just seems random

It seems like out of all of the women on the independent scene, I see more "Book Leva" than anyone. I do not understand it at all.

I will say from experience that excessive annoying of promoters to book someone can sometimes have the complete opposite of the desired effect.

How did this start? Nothing against Leva, but it just seems random #BookLevaBates on the Chikara message board in the Tampa thread not sure if it got any further then that. The Tampa show is a must buy show when it hits DVD.

Promoters usually say "don't analyze, just enjoy!"
Thus fans may ask for their favourite wrestler without thinking about roster size or long term booking plans, in my opinion.
