What can I say? I'm a sucker for storytelling and psych. And Amber's selling when Tenille started throwing the back kicks at her didn't hurt either.

What can I say? I'm a sucker for storytelling and psych. And Amber's selling when Tenille started throwing the back kicks at her didn't hurt either. See, I saw the match differently. Amber pretty much hammered Tenille for the majority of the match and hardly gave the newcomer an opening to make an impression with the crowd. If anything, it became a glorified squash match. If you're a fan of Amber's ring work, I advise you avoid volume 24.

I've already started reviewing Vol. 24.
I liked Amber/Blake too.

I've already started reviewing Vol. 24. I liked Amber/Blake too. Yeah, that fall from the middle rope was something.

Yeah, that fall from the middle rope was something. Yeah, not exactly Amber's finest moment.

That fall from the rope was hilarious. Amber should do that every match.

Amber is really bad. And I'm embarrassed by the fact that Dave or anyone tries to put her over as being able to "hang with the heavy hitters." She provides good humor and is an entertaining character, but nothing else.

I find her to be a solid hand - not spectacular, but she's been a part of many matches that I've enjoyed, especially and surprisingly her matches with Lorelei. I did definitely find that she had a bad weekend during May, though, and I think she might tell anyone as much. She seemed pretty upset that weekend, but I don't know, that could've been unrelated.
Decent character, decent wrestler, as far as I'm concerned.

Decent character, decent wrestler, as far as I'm concerned. I 100% agree. The two matches on 5/2 were both fun performances with simple storytelling and psych.

I love Amber. She's one of the more underrated wrestlers in SHIMMER and her personality is endlessly entertaining.

Amber has shown she can put on good matches with the Upper Card workers. Maybe she just isn't so good at carrying?
I agree that Amber is underrated.

I just got Volume 24. And there was highlights of the confrontation between Danger and Portia. The look on Amber's face when Danger called Portia a "Twatwaffle" was priceless. Almost like she understood what it means!!

I'd say decent wrestler- great character myself. I say this, too. I'm not one of those "crisp, perfect, clean, hard hitting or GTFO" type of fans, tho. And I'm definitely not the type to criticise anyone who isn't. I mean, if Shimmer only contained one type of wrestler- it wouldn't be as interesting. ETA- Criticize with such vitriol. Just because she doesn't leave inch wide bruises on the other wrestlers. Or because she's not always 100% perfect- which is the double edged sword of womens' wrestling: if you're anything less than a suicide wrestler you get that treatment from fans. I guess that shows how two different types of fans come together only for shimmer- I've never been a huge fan of the hard hitting matches that are just that- they never have enough story or character for me; they just share the same one. I like Amber's matches because they have story and character- hitting hard is not enough for me and for awhile, before all the backstage stuff got started I was having a hard time paying attention because there was very little story going on. I like psychology and not just hitting really really hard, sue me. I like Amber, sue me. I think Amber definitely deserves to be on the roster because lawd knows some of the wrestlers could use a personality injection- if I weren't so familiar with all of them, the same personality with almost no variation would run a little thin. One time a fan said to me "sometimes people don't have time for/want all that psychology" implying that character and psychology were somehow a waste of time. I didn't have time to count how many wrestlers were spinning in their graves. Edited for the last time, didn't want to double post: And also, if anyone who is a fan of the Divas (not just the good ones) is criticizing Amber for the same things we criticize the Divas for (except she has better psychology than almost ALL of the Divas combined- except for the few good Divas) then that's really really interesting. ...and you may be eligible to participate in a scientific study.
