I actually think the food is pretty good but the place is understaffed when SHIMMER takes over. I don't know about the origins of it, but I can tell you after having attended multiple tapings that most everyone from SHIMMER shows up and are generally happy to meet and talk with fans. Going there after the show is something that is announced at SHIMMER shows. I've had good conversations with numerous members of SHIMMER at MA's. Just don't be a jackass, don't be bothersome, and I personally don't approach them when they are actually eating. Well stated. And dont be one of those people who stand at the doorway of the room and yell things to the ladies while their eating. Dont know who that guy was at the second night of the tourney, but man he was annoying.

The whole after party thing is something that gives me panic attacks, and I am obviously not one of the wrestlers. Fans crowded around in a room, at tables with no room to breathe, poor service (overwhelmed by all of us I am sure), I wind up spending more time outside than inside.
Most of the girls seem friendly to talk to fans, as long as you are respectful. Remember it is an after party for them as well. Some of these girls are friends who don't see each other except at these events so they need their time to talk and catch up and whatever.
None of the people I go to Shimmer with are the kind to approach someone when they are eating or talking to someone else so most of the time all we do is eat, hang out, then leave. So I guess it isnt really an after party for us, which is why I am pushing hard for my White Castle after party idea consisting of me, and jalapeno cheeseburgers =D
But for those who know me know I cant get away from being at Michael Anthony's once again lol.

But for those who know me know I cant get away from being at Michael Anthony's once again lol. Haha even if you wait for an hour for a salad? ;D But yeah, the only prob with MAs is the fact that they always seem understaffed at the after parties. As far as your white castle idea, Im not down with that. Ill miss my flight the next morning because of the dreaded 'White Castle stomach cramps'.

Larry, come on, you know you had a good time with me and Rott that second night at the after party, drinking, chatting with Truth and Dave, and then waiting 90 hours for a cab to show up, lol.

My Mike Tenay Bullet Points:
- White Castle...YES! Fresh will vote yes too so since my vote counts 3 times and everyone else 1 that means White Castle is locked. - Steve can't eat salads in public. I thought this was common knowledge. - Ihop..YES as well. I never been to more Ihops since the one in Philly slammed the door on our faces. - After party, ok maybe, I have vested interests (and about 8 people that are gonna drag me there).
Which now only leaves me for a place to stay =( lol
Fresh...who the hell is Rott, and where does Snake Eyes fit in all of this? I swear I know him.

If there's alcohol served at the after show party, then I'll be there!

Since the last show, Michael Anthony's was sold and is now under new ownership, which has basically re-staffed the whole place with the exception of maybe 2 employees. They are a sponsor of ours.

The food at MA's was good from what I remember. The garlic bread was awesome and I may just order 2 orders of that in replace of an entree. So I hope people we not taking this as me knocking the place.
They just got overwhelmed, we do this to a Ruby Tuesday's here on Long Island after a show once a month as well.

That's the best show related news I've heard yet. And yes, I've read the announcement about Wesna. EDIT: And Larry, they really had no excuse to be overwhelmed. Like Dave said, they're a sponsor of SHIMMER and have been doing this for two years now. And like Daizee Haze told me: "It's like this every time." They should have known to be more adequately prepared if they knew a hundred extra people would be in by 10:00. So I blame poor management... and dippy waitresses who keep forgetting about our table, causing us to wait an hour and a half for our food... and then serve us the wrong food... and then take another twenty five minutes to bring the check... I really hope new ownership is a breath of fresh air for the place, because it's a decent enough locale for the afterparty. If not, I'm more than happy to just take up space and hang out with SHIMMER stars. I can always go through a McDonald's drive-thru later if I'm hungry.

So people are actually invited to such an event during the Shimmer shows? And the ladies expect the fans? I mean, I'm not an idiot, I'm 29 years old (well, I suppose that doesn't necessarily mean anything), I'm not going to be disrespectful or bother them during eatin' times, but if it's a situation where they don't mind mingling with fans off and on through the night when they're not too busy and might actually expect to, well, that's just a really nice thing to hear. If I have the chance to meet Daizee and Sara and Portia and Melissa and EVERYONE!, and it's not construed as an incovenience, I'm going to take that chance.
So, how many really regular people are on this board who go to shows? Does everyone know each other? Do you guys get together at MA's or in advance and basically know who each other is when you meet in person? And for how many of you is the Shimmer after-party "old hat", so to speak?

Yes people at SHIMMER are publicly invited over the house mic and the ladies expect us to be there. As SHIMMER Office (DP) said, MA's are a sponsor. There are numerous regulars that go to the shows. It's fluctuates from show to show because all shows are in Berwyn meaning some fans have to travel long distances (and they do, some have come from overseas) and therefore can't make every show. Some of us meet together and know each other, yes. Some gather in advance, the night before at the hotels or whatever. Others I have never met, some I accidentally meet before/during/after the shows. The after party always has a lot of people. Can't say I know how many are from these boards.

Half of the tickets for the taping have now been sold. Tickets have been on sale all of 7 days. A big thank you to everyone who has purchased tickets already, especially those that picked up front row tickets, which we were able to sell out of in just a matter of hours! If you don't have tickets yet, and you plan on attending the taping, we have General Admission ticket PayPal buttons up on the left hand side of www.shimmerwrestling.com right now. We can also accept mail orders (check or money order) for tickets if you do not wish to use PayPal. E-mail dave_prazak@yahoo.com for further instructions for mail orders. We'll also have tickets (if they are still left) on 1/19 at AAW in Berwyn if you wish to get them then. To those who have ordered tickets in the past week, we will be mailing out all of the ticket orders on 1/21, so you should expect to receive your tickets in the mail during the last week of January. Don't get shut out! The show is over three months away but tickets are moving at a record pace!

I've only been to the October show. I didn't talk to a whole lot of SHIMMER people at the afterparty, except to introduce myself to Dave, and talk to Daizee who I'd met previously, and Ashley Lane who I also knew previously, and she actually sat at our table because she is good friends with the girls I was at the show with. From what I observed, the girls were more than willing to sign autographs, take pictures, etc. with anyone who asked. Like others said, it's just common decency to leave them (or anyone, really) alone while they're eating, and just be respectful and ask nicely and everything's cool. I didn't talk to anyone from the boards, that I was aware of anyway. Maybe we should wear nametags next time.

I don't mean to press this, but I'm really interested in knowing about this, especially because I have a plan in place to fly out for the tapings after this set as long as my passport's a go by then, and quite frankly, I'd love to meet everyone because I love them all. So yeah, the ladies seem more than willing to oblige us fans, but are they swamped by us to the point that you might actually feel bad being another person taking up their time? And I think after I know that I can leave it alone.
