Question - how can you get DVD's with the original music in it? I bought the retail version of Vol 1 from Best Buy, and I ordered Volumes 2 and 3 from the ROH site. However on all 3 of them, the music was replaced with generic music. Is it possible to buy a version of the DVD that is not edited?

The first pressing of DVDs we get made of each Volume sold through ROH have the original audio from the live event. Once those are gone, ROH will be selling the Big Vision versions of each of our releases (which may already be the case for Vols. 1 through 3, I'm not certain).

I just got the Vol 2 and 3 DVD's from ROH about a month ago, and I do believe they have the Big Vision logo on them. I'm a newer fan, and I have some catching up to do with the older volumes. I'd imagine that once I get caught up, I'll be able to order the volumes early enough to get the original music.

Ouch, good to know. As a purist I don't pay for any DVD or any sort that has music changes. Guess I won't get 1 though 3.

It's ROH's call as to what they will be selling the Big Vision versions of the DVDs for on the site. They're a merchandise distributor that set their own prices... it's not in SHIMMER's hands as far as that goes.
All I can really suggest for those of you who want the DVDs with the original music is... get them from ROH when they are released to get a copy of the DVDs in their initial run. It's not financially feasible for us to do a second pressing of each Volume when the Big Vision stock is there to sell from.

Oh, I should say that this is not a knock on SHIMMER. I do know it's not your fault and understand the problem that exists with royalties/distribution and whatnot. It's principle for me, like I said I don't buy any DVDs with music replacement, even if it means favorite shows like Quantum Leap and the upcoming WKRP.

...I got Volumes 1 through 7 from ROH, along with some ROH videos...
After hunting and pecking through a bunch of matches amongst most of the shows, I noticed that Vols 1-3 have the generic music and were indeed the Big Vision versions. I can't tell you how irritating that gets. Imagine Sandman NOT coming to the ring to "Enter Sandman"....oh never mind. That said, well chosen entrance music adds a lot.
I was blown away by Rebecca Knox. Hopefully, she will be able to fully recover from what seems to be a nasty condition. On a selfish note, I'd love to see her one day come back to the ring as well, but that's really just gravy compared to having her back in 100% health. Her ring music, "Shadows of the Night," is probably one of the most underrated songs of the 80s and a bang-up entrance song. I will have to double-check the matches I've seen already and will check the ones I've yet to watch of hers, but was wondering if the song start from the VERY beginning, with Pat Benatar singing a capella, then the instrumental intro kicks in. That song absolutely rules if it's done that way. It's great anyway, but I'm just splitting hairs at this point.
One other thing I've noticed. Sara Del Rey, who, with Knox currently out, just may be The Best (Female) Wrestler in the World, also has the Best Entrance Music in the World. Since the parallel with Danielson is clearly drawn, with mentions of Danielson's training her and such, I wonder why all the entrances I've seen so far of her in Shimmer cuts off her music before the crowd can chant "It's the Final Countdown!" This is a staple to every Danielson match, and I think it would go over big in Shimmer as well. I mean, if she's going to be using Danielson's entrance music, why not let the crowd sing along at the sweet part of the song like they do with Dragon?

Yes, Rebecca's entrances started from the very beginning of "Shadows of the Night." And at the April 7th taping, "The Final Countdown" did keep playing through that part of the song during Sara's entrance.
For those that weren't there live on April 7th, I predict Portia Perez's new "Edge of Seventeen" entrance is going to be vastly popular very quickly once people see it. :-)
