Good artice.
I would add that as she claims to be a ninja why wouldn't Matthews use a fireball? Eagles already mocked her for having to resort to Ninja weaponry (Shida's kendo stick) so I find it apt that it was that same thing that Eagles bragged about not having to resort to that cost her.

I like that article as well - I hadn't thought of the real need for all the ref incapacitations, but I agree with the analysis.
As to how Nicole M won that match, I think there was a statement to be made about what kind of heel Nicole M is. There is a range of bad-ness to Shimmer heels.
Nikki Storm is a heel in that she's got no particular commitment to fair play in her matches. She's too self-absorbed and arrogant to care about that. She doesn't even want her opponents to have their theme music playing when she's in the ring. But there's no real moral quandary in cheering for Nicki Storm and demanding that she get lots of mic time, so people do.
Nicole M has been a lot of fun in the past year's solo matches. Her matches last Fall, particularly, were a blast. So is she "safe" to cheer for, a naughty girl who's got a bad side to her but still deserves the cheers of the crowd?
Well, no, she's not - she's a truly evil human being - who got her championship belt by throwing a fireball in the face of the woman that deserved the belt and then, while that woman was thrashing around screaming in pain, still on fire, according to the smell, Nicole M demanded that the piece of trash be thrown out of "her" ring.
Anybody who wants to cheer for Nicole M now has to recognize that's what they're cheering for.

Great Saturday show once again (despite so many of my favorites being missing). I think I'm starting to get used to some of the new folks from Vol. 62 and there is some good stuff there. Remember, not all of us have seen every live show, so we jump from Volume 60 to 62, then to this weekend (in my case via the released DVD's and ippv).
Really really loved the Joshi interaction with the fans (both in and out of the ring) and the other wrestlers. True professionals and they bring a lot of extra class to every show. Kudos to them and to Dave & Co. for getting them to Berwyn!
Sorry to hear about Lufisto and Athena's injuries. I wish them a swift and complete recovery.

What's Athena's condition? I heard about Lufisto's broken hand and separated shoulder.

All I knew about Athena is that she was knocked loopy at the end of her Volume 69 match, but was cleared to wrestle on Volume 70. Haven't heard of any injuries since.

It makes zero sense to turn either Portia or Nicole right now. Portia normally dies in the blow-off show, it's not something to look too much into.
