Expedia are doing a sale. Booked Rodeway again (will make use of Carrier Pigeon/Free Breakfast hookups), will be there from Thursday to Tuesday.

I've always found Connie's on Harlem Ave. to be a quality breakfast before a exciting 6 hour marathon, and at a very reasonable price.

I usually stay in Willowbrook at the Red Roof, which has good wifi. And I prefer that area since it has a Whole Foods, Target, Portillo's, Dunkin Donuts/Starbucks and plenty of other places nearby. I've stayed at Super 8 Bridgeview before too and there's plenty of restaurants nearby. Can't remember why I didn't go back there the next time.

I thought the Rodeway was decent and I'll be staying there again in October. Not great breakfasts, but it's close to a train station and a great Irish pub. What's not to love?!

I've thought about staying at a better hotel (maybe someday I will), but then again, I personally haven't had any problems at the Rodeway. I like it for the location - close to the Eagles Club. And already knowing the places close to it where I can eat is a huge plus. Saves me the "headache" of doing research for that all over again.

I pack donuts and sandwiches so I never have to leave the room. I'm lazy.

I think all these foreign people get nice breakfasts where they live if they go to a hotel. We don't have those things here in the USA. LOL We aren't allowed to have nice things, cuz trash people ruin it for everyone.

The remaining 2nd row tickets and general admission will be available during intermission of tonight's AAW show in Berwyn for those who still need to pick them up.

For anyone going to Shimmer 62 in New Orleans, any tips on finding a decently priced flight and hotel package (either or both)? I'm deciding between Shimmer 62 / Mid-South Legends / WrestleCon and Shimmer 63-66. The prices I'm seeing for flights from NYC to New Orleans are pretty high (one-stop flights start at $410 if you're lucky, and nonstop flights -- well, forget about those). I'd like to meet a lot of the Mid-South Legends guests, so I'm leaning toward New Orleans if I can find a somewhat reasonable flight / hotel combo. So far I've mainly been looking at Expedia.

New Orleans is going to be tough to find anything in the realm of "inexpensive." For one thing, it's an expensive city to visit to begin with, but given how many additional visitors are in a city during Mania weekend, everything only gets more expensive, especially hotel rooms.

So true - I got my reservations pretty much as soon as I decided I was going in order to get the best deals possible. That's the only way I've found to save money when going to New Orleans. Given how much I love that city, I've had a few chances to try my luck.

My wife and I are still considering coming to Berwyn pending tax refund hopefully. We were wondering what good but affordable hotels are nearby. And also what extras reserved seating gets or general admission. I know early birds who get front row sometimes get free or reduced DVD' s of the event.

For people looking to go elsewhere, I suggest either the Super 8 in Bridgeview, IL or the Hampton Inn in Westchester, IL. Bridgeview is a 20 minute drive from the Eagles Club. Westchester is about 15 minutes away. Obviously, neither is as close as the Rodeway is. Between the shows and the after parties, how much time is really spent in a hotel room that weekend anyway? Convenience! There are obviously hotels near the airports, but those are even further away, and more expensive due to being near the airports. Quoting Dave's recent post for you. Rodeway Inn in Lyons is the closest that could really be considered "good", and that all depends on your standards. I'm still waiting on my free DVDs from all these years. I say it's nice to have reserved seating so you have a good seat and don't have to wait in line longer than you want to.

Free DVD's? And here I thought all we got for buying front row was punch and pie.
