The impact Nowinski has had on sports is going to be legendary by the time things are all said and done. It's such a good thing that he decided to take the initiative he did and really press the issue when it comes to brain injuries. His research is going to make the athletes of the future so much safer and healthier and that is something that deserves to be commended.

Chris, you're on the Shimmer board? It's amazing how much one man has made a difference in pro-wrestling and it seems to have had in American football too, though that may have involved other factors too, I'm not sure.

Since the subject is concussions anyone out there have any information on the health of Serena Deeb? I've been reading for some time of her battle to recover from a concussion. I read from Mike Johnson of PWI Insider that she is getting better but has not returned to the ring. Does anyone else have anything on her? Godspeed to her.

She's teaching yoga these days. That's all I'm at liberty to say at the moment.
Sorry for being cagey, but the rest isn't public knowledge.

I think you got the emphasis wrong. When people talk about Chris Nowinski the wrestler, they'll say "you mean THAT Chris Nowinski from the SLI?"

Not that it's that big a deal, nor am I looking to start an arguement, but I think it's a tad inappropriate to basically post saying "I know what's going on, but I won't tell you." It'd be just as easy to say, "All we know is she's teaching yoga at the moment and that's it." When fans have that kind of uncommon information, they should probably keep that fact out of general public discussion, if only out of respect to the people who spoke to them in confidence as well as respect for fellow fans.

At least she is working in a safer job since another concussion could be a dead blow to her since she was talking about settling down and having kids. But on the same bill if she dosen't return the only thing left to say is thanks for the memories and good luck with her life outside of wrestling.

I accept that. I'm not trying to sound like some know it all, but I'm also aware that if I left it at one sentence, it could lead to more questions, so that's why I added the extra point. Sorry if you disagree.

I couldn't agree with you more. Although I do hope Serena does return to the SHIMMER ring perhaps to go after the title currently held by Cheerleader Melissa I realize her health comes first far above anything else. If Yoga gives her peace as well as good health more power to her. Serena would have made a great SHIMMER champion. I first saw Serena as a part of of PGWA. You could see the potential right then. If Serena chooses to retire from wrestling and focus on other parts of her life I wish her Godspeed and thank you as well for all the thrills, chills, heart, soul and that unforgettable smile. I really hope she does come back to SHIMMER. If not lady from Fairfax and thank you.
