This is like a early birthday present for me (like a week early ) Definitely going to experience my first live wrestling event on that weekend.

It gets really expensive for some to attend more than two SHIMMER weekends per year, when you factor in flight cost, hotel, tickets, other merchandise, food. To do it three times per year, or once every three months, would force some to skip some of the shows. Luckily I am in Illinois and don't have the extra costs involved. Would you be able to afford going to more than two SHIMMER weekends per year? Not only fan costs to attend, but running the shows to begin with can be tricky, considering how much of the roster is international at this point. What are the odds they can all realistically come to Berwyn on the same weekend that frequently? These are key reasons why we're running October 1st & 2nd. About half of the fans I told "we might run again in July" after the last shows replied, "I can't afford to come back again that soon." Additionally, not all of the necessary talent would have been able to make dates in that time frame. I'd rather tape 8 DVDs in 2011 with a full building of our fans and most of the desired talent roster than tape 12 with empty seats and only a fraction of the talent I'd want on the shows. The venue, talent, and most of our loyal fans who come to every taping are available on October 1st & 2nd, so that's when we're running. A big thank you to NCW-FF for moving their show to the following week to make this happen, or else we would have had to wait even longer. Dave, are you telepathic or something? I was actually pondering asking in open forum after I saw the video clip where you said you were considering taping 12 volumes if that would be a truly wise decision considering the travel costs to both the company to bring the talent and the fans to bring themselves, but, I was going to go one step further and consider the DVD production time table that, which due to your admirable attention to making sure you are producing a high quality product, would make it so that the DVD's of the summer tapings may only be one quarter to one half available at the time of the fall tapings, which would subsequently make the DVD's of the fall tapings likely not all be available for purchase until sometime next summer, by which time another taping has likely already taken place. I get the motivation behind those on the message board wanting more live dates for Shimmer action, because we love Shimmer and to have more of it would be spectacular. But, let's be honest here. Doesn't the fact that Dave only runs twice a year, albeit producing 8 DVD's worth of matches in said year, account in part for why Shimmer weekends remain special and can't miss events? Were not PPV's more special when each company ran only 4 or 5 a year as opposed to at least one a month? Not only was it more cost effective for the average fan to shell out only at those four or five times a year, but the build for those shows were tremendous. While I know it is hard to fathom ever getting sick of Shimmer, I think that if it were to run more frequently, it could easily run the risk of becoming stale just as the nationally televised promotions have in the eyes of many, particularly on this board. The current Shimmer formula works very well, and I personally don't see any reason to tweak it. That being said, I am very much looking forward to October.

Because my travel costs for the show are approximately $5 per day, I of course would be happy if they ran shows once a month. But considering I'm closer to the venue than even the guy who runs the promotion I guess I'm not the average

I've already managed to get the week surrounding it off work, so all I need to do is buy the tickets, plane tickets and book the hotel.

My latest status - I'm holding off on my flights and hotel for now because my passport has come up due. Hopefully I'll get my new one right when Dave releases the show tickets.

Time off from work is approved, now I'm just waiting for a better price on a hotel. Oh, and for the ticket on-sale.
