Really? Was that grammer comment necessary? It's a forum, most of us are not writers, and really , no one is perfect.
Anyway, I think had Lacey not retired, we would have Lacey or Rain turned, leaving Jetta to team with the heel and feud with the face. Or, if you can't see either as a face, maybe we could have had the rarety of a heel vs. heel match. I could have seen it to determine a #1 contender for a volume.

The only tag team break-up match I would really like to see would be Nevaeh vs. Ashley Lane. Ashley's done a great job thus far in TNA, really developed a great bitchy character and I would like to see her return to Shimmer to team with and then face (and lose to) Nevaeh.

I think if I'd like to see anyone turn babyface, it's Kellie Skater. The way she gets along with all wrestlers and all fans supersedes any of her roid rage antics in the ring.

I was gonna start a new thread on this but I vaguely remembered the subject had come up before so I thought I'd dig it out.
So where are we now with turns in Shimmer? The ratio is still very much in favour of heel turns, but can anyone supply a complete list?
The best I can do, based on the volumes I've seen (up to about 25'ish, and anything after vol.15 was a loooong time ago) and from general discussion on here about later shows would be...
Face Turns Melissa Kong? Britani - I'm assuming her final match counted as a turn, albeit a very short one.
Heel Turns Portia Nikita Cindy Rogers Del Rey Daffney Daizee Eagles Nevaeh Martinez
Have I missed any? Does Britani's actually count? I guess it does, if we're counting Nikita who only had one match as a heel before moving on. I didn't include Knox as she turned in her first match, so I don't think that one really counts.
And I guess the face turn ratio seems even lower than it already is, as Melissa is only one of the three to have remained active in Shimmer after her turn.

Athena from heel to face is a good bet.

Athena is a babyface now, feuding with heel Martinez.
Britani absolutely counts as a face. She fought back on Saraya on Vol. 43 and then had the whole crowd behind her as a face in their no DQ match on Vol. 44. She definitely ended as a big hand slapping face.
I view Kong as turning face at the end of Vol. 28 when she gave MsChif her respect after the main event, and then her next (last) match was as a face against Kellie Skater.

Wesna started babyface, then turned heel when she was managed by Annie Social.

Wesna started babyface, then turned heel when she was managed by Annie Social. Yes, she did. Forgot about that one. So with Athena, that's one more for both lists, still leaving us top heavy on heel turns. As was mentioned when this thread was first being discussed, Shimmer's heel turns have often been born out of neccesity to balance the card at a particular show, so it's understandable that heel turns still lead the count. There have obviously been a couple of wrestlers in Shimmer I'd like to have seen turn face over the years, for the other reason that some wrestlers turned heel - to freshen their character, or to give them something new to work with, in terms of potential rivalries and feuds. Lacey would be one of those women. Malia too, actually. It always struck me as a slighly wasted oportunity to have both of Shimmer's veterans on the same side with, essentially, the same gimmick. For me though, it's not about how few face turns we've seen. It's about how they've turned. Most of the face turns we've seen have been about getting personal payback (as face turns usually are) - Melissa on the MHWC; Britani on her Mum; and Athena (from what I've since read) on Mercedes. The only 'altruistic' turn to date came from Kong, and that was with a simple handshake. But we're still waiting for that Vader (Darth, not Big Van)/Return of the Jedi style turn. Picture it. Two heels in the ring. One's beating down on a defenceless babyface. Then, out of the blue, the other heel suddenly turns on her partner, lifting her above her shoulders and tossing her out of the ring (and although you won't hear it at the live show, on the DVD she'll say "Nooooooooooo!!!!!") I probably took the analogy too far there. But you get the idea. That's basically what I hope to see in Shimmer one day. The heroic turn. The jump out your seat and wipe the tears of joy from your eyes turn. If we're lucky enough to see her back in the ring in the future, I could see that working for Madison.
