To be fair, it's not his star rating system, he just uses it. Jim Cornette came up with the concept. And surely, it's the fault of people taking it as gospel, not the system itself?

Correct on just about every count. If you actually read what he writes or listen to what he says on his podcasts, it's pretty clear that Meltzer himself doesn't really care about star ratings.

Pretty sure people have been rating things with stars before Jim Cornette came along.

For movies, sure, but Cornette was the first to introduce the concept in terms of rating wrestling matches. I believe it was going back to Norman Dooley's newsletter, prior to the Observer.

He applied someone else's idea to wrestling, sure, but he didn't "invent the concept" of five-star reviews is all I meant. The concept was already there and is used for so many things.

Hey, I think I'm in the background of that pic of Ayumi and Hamada. Yay! I'm featured in a Japanese wrestling magazine! Haha.

She got there too late to be in it. So did Rebecca Knox. It was taken 20 mins after doors were to have opened, so waited as long as we could.

Or...he could leave it like it is and you could stop caring so much about two people missing in a photo.
