Anyone who feels they can do better than the artwork we've been offering is more than welcome to post/send us your own creations to be considered.

I think the artwork overall is very cool. Neat to see something 'different' for the disc art. And that NJPW cartoon art posted earlier is ace as well.

They're all AWESOME...though I prefer the one with Ayumi putting Daizee Haze in the octopus hold ;D

And yeah, the Rate Tank sig is scary. Get used to it, because that's the disc art for Volume 33. Well played.

lololololol Poor shuper with all that hard work getting it completely **** on.
He's not even an anime fan, but tried his best to give the japanese girls a little showing of the appreciation we already have for them. And as Prazak said, this is more about that moment with Hiroyo than the artwork itself.
And all the girls mentioned in blogs and such that they LOVED his artwork and how detailed it was.
And the SRS BIDNESS ONLY thing sounds like aspergers wrestling to the max lol

The menu screens looks great, they go right along with the brilliant theme of the DVD covers.

Great menu screens, alas it's a shame we never saw these while Jetta was here so we could get a Union Flag background. Not that I'm at all bitter about no UK gals being in the company. Nope siree bob.

I guess next time, Dave can just leave the disc blank and write vol.33 with a purple sharpy . Both of their pics on the cover are grainy. Melissa is just easier to notice. I think the grainy look was the purpose considering the whole theme.

I have no problem with cartoon stuff being on the DVDs. I like the idea of illustrated covers and different styles of artwork put to use. Raven's cover for Volume 24 is good and everyone likes the watercolor effect for the new Volume 31 cover. I showed the Bash '87 cover art for the Betamax tape I own here on the board. All of the Chikara DVDs I have are illustrated. The Royal Rumble 1991 and 1992 covers with the paintings of wrestlers marching down the street like "The Warriors" are awesome. Survivor Series 2004's DVD was mentioned. I really like that new ACW 2010 Queen of Queens DVD cover with the "Alice in Wonderland" stuff too.
Concerning this, I have nothing against the artwork itself. More power to any fans who want to contribute artwork or bring signs to shows, because I always do. It's better than just being there holding your chair down. I feel the point of signs is to show support for the person coming out. For those who don't know the artist of this disc and Billiken held up almost identical signs for every joshi wrestler's match on all 4 DVDs, Hiroyo took it into the ring after her final match, and it got put over. The same artwork from those signs being put on the official SHIMMER DVD makes it seem like the fans did not make those signs (especially when a lot of our same faces are seen attending all these tapings). That's what bothers me, because I've spent a lot of hours drawing stuff in the past.
When I went to Chikara in Taylor, MI they passed out neckties during intermission to toss into the ring for Bryan Danielson's introduction like streamers. I don't like the idea of a wrestling company trying to gimmick the fans, even though that's not what's being done here, it could be misconstrued.
