Madison's a trained MMA fighter? That's ****ing badass. And she trains with George St. Pierre? Could she be any more epic?

I kind of get where they are coming from, but come on, she is better then Sheamus. The comparison was rude, dismissive and uncalled for. But yes - I'm afraid I think the idea of having a new champion with a less than impressive record against the top contenders and only a few Shimmer appearances beneath her belt was a pretty poor one which wasn't exactly helped by her not defending the title. It's an angle all right - but not one I am enjoying. Having said which others seem happy about it so I expect I'm wrong yet again. So it goes.

To address one of your points, as we saw in one of the things posted in the Ayumi Kurihara thread, she probably was supposed to face Madison on Vol. 32, but thanks to Madison's ruptured eardrum, she didn't wrestle.

You try engaging in strenuous physical activity which involves running and bumping for 15+ minutes twice within 24 hours of a ruptured eardrum.

Be fair, he might not have known. I didn't and I trawl the boards fairly attentively.

You have to, you owe it to yourself. And seriously, it worked. It was one of the most amazing moments in SHIMMER when she beat MsChif. yes, you are wrong. Sorry.

Be fair, he might not have known. I didn't and I trawl the boards fairly attentively. Indeed I didn't - probably because I am not a big follower of items on Madison. So I'm sorry if anybody found that bit offensive. However the storyline still doesn't work for me for a moment.

So I'm sorry if anybody found that bit offensive. However the storyline still doesn't work for me for a moment. The new heel champion who is legitimately too injured to wrestle a fourth match in a weekend is written out of the show by saying she's too egotistical to defend the title. How does that not work? It gets her heel heat for doing so, and wound up putting all of the focus on the babyface challenger who is chasing her for the belt (Cheerleader Melissa) in the main event. The show then closes with a faceoff between them, building to their upcoming match.

But what I was saying initially before we got side-tracked into discussing Madison's injury is that having a new champion flown in out of nowhere (in Shimmer terms) doesn't do it for me. Of course it doesn't help that so far, without having seen the championship match yet, I don't much care about Madison's ring personna either way. If she's fighting somebody I like then fine, I can get involved but otherwise I just don't care - and I don't think that a good sign for a heel. Which means that the only reason I care about the Madison/Melissa storyline is that it involves Melissa. And yes, I know fine well that loads of people think Madison is a fine technical wrestler (which point I agree with) and an excellent heel who they enjoy rooting against (which is where we part company). Good luck to them - I expect they are in a majority - but I just hope this particular storyline isn't going to run and run and run.

Good to see that you're going to wait to actually see what happened at the last set of tapings before making up your mind.

Good to see that you're going to wait to actually see what happened at the last set of tapings before making up your mind. Who knows - I may come to think Madison the greatest thing since unsliced bread? But meanwhile I fail to see why only people who can actually attend tapings should be entitled to have a view about storylines. It's not the first time posters have come across as having this attitude and I expect it won't be the last but there you go.

I just hope this particular storyline isn't going to run and run and run. I hope it does. A heel champion with a babyface chase is always a shedload of fun.
