Someone from the old GCW promotion in St. Louis has been posting old videos on YouTube, and one of them is a match between Daizee Haze and MsChif from one of their crazy "Adults Only" style shows. At the time the match took place, Daizee had only been in wrestling for two months, and MsChif for less than a year.

Daizee Haze "I don't swing that way"
vs.
MsChif "Even in ponytails I'm a mean BITCH!!!"
Was this something they did all the time on the screen graphics? It's pretty funny. Kind of like ROH on HDNet...

Prazak and Danger that commentary team was not. An urge to slap the entire commentary team was very much present. I re-watched without sound, and it was a lot easier to watch. Granted, it helped alot that even in the early days, Daizee and Chif had the skills that paid the bills.

It's really interesting to see them in their tentative early days. That should be a great advert for all the rookies - work hard, stick at it, and things will fall into place.

Part of why I decided to post this was to demonstrate to those who are hard on the new girls in SHIMMER that even the top of the card women (as cuh-razy as it sounds) had an early stage to their career.

I must admit it is a little distrubing to see MsChif smiling...

Incredible the amount of talent they had even in those early days.
Yeah the commentary is a load of gibberish, and the ref is useless. But a good watch though.

Ahhh...Adults Only 7...one of the funner shows. I wish I had discovered the promotion early enough to see that show live
Ok to explain a few things...
The Adults Only shows...you were supposed to be 16 or 18 or older to get in because they were , shall we say, a little looser with the dialogue and there were some crazy things that went on. And the only GCW shows where you could see Heart Attack Jack.
The Adults Only tapes were the only GCW shows that had those graphics under the names. Some of them were funny, some were kinda stupid.
The referee Sean Vincent is the one who's been putting the old GCW videos online. He is useless in the match because , on the opening match of this show, he wrestled Sam Bacardi in a match where the loser of a fall had to chug a beer and then be able to continue. Vincent eventually lost the match and Chif/Daizee was something like 3rd or 4th match on the show so Vincent is not quite recovered from the opener at this point. He is a better ref than that and last I saw , he's a pretty solid wrestler.
The commentary is Tommy Jeans and Ryan Ash. Ash is the one spending most of the time making "woo" noises. Tommy was not really that bad a color commentary guy but shouldn't be the lead and Ash spent most of whatever time he had on commentary failing to be funny. To me, anyway.

Okay cool, it said at the start that the ref was drunk, but I wasn't sure if it was legit or just an act. Now that you mention that he was a bit hammered, I'm actually rather envious.
Boozing and then later officiating a match between 2 women who would go on to be one of the best in North America is pretty groovy.

Even back then they definately had what it takes. It was more enjoyable on mute. I was hoping that was Ms Chif in the shorts at the very beginning.

I hope more GCW stuff gets posted; I was doing some research for MsChif's Wiki and she feuded with Matt Sydal for a part and also took part in some matches involving tables and ladders. I'd be interested to see what someone with her flexibility could do with a ladder.

She had a couple matches with Matt that were good. The most memorable being a 2/3 falls match in Cape Girardeau which I believe is on one of her first two compilations
The only ladder match that I recall involving her is a three way with OuTtKaSt and , I think, Shawn Almighty . I believe she was injured in that match and it turned out to be her last match in GCW for a couple years as she parted ways with them.
She had a couple good brawls with Nikki Strychnine involving tables as well

I'll pop this up here as well since it's in the same catagory. Maybe DP can change the thread title to say Videos or that there's an update or something along those lines. Mr. Vincent aka GCWTribute has uploaded another Haze Vs MsChif match, this time from 1/25/03 so it's just over 8 months later from the first match. This is cool for comparisons/timeline sake.

I’m delighted to know that all of you are enjoying reliving the past matches of both Mschif and Daziee Haze. It was both an honor and a privilege to have worked with both of these talented women in GCW. Over the years I’ve been extremely proud of them both and their accomplishments in this business. The GCW tribute page on YouTube is just my way of paying homage to their and others humble beginnings in wrestling. I’ll be updating the page every week with more historical matches of both theirs and others from Gateways past so feel free to stop by the page to leave comments or suggestions for future videos. Sincerely, Sean V. www.youtube.com/gcwtribute
