SHIMMER athletes Rebecca Knox, MsChif, and Amazing Kong appeared on the Wrestle Expo 2006 event this past weekend in Tokyo, Japan. MsChif made it all the way to the finals of the tournament! Special thanks to www.joshipuro.com/ for the report below.
The big joshi portion of the WRESTLE EXPO 2006 happened today with some key happenings. Yoshiko Tamura took home the WWWC Tournament, defeating three wrestlers to get there, and even putting up her Double Titles in the main event against MsChif. Tamura was happy to win the tournament, saying that she wanted to return to Odaiba every summer and then nominated Chikayo Nagashima as the next challenger to her titles. Mima Shimoda had her farewell match, with the fans flooding the ring with pink streamers in her honor. After the match Kyoko pleaded that Shimoda return to Japan in the future, and told her that she would be dearly missed.
