From what i heard it was an awesome match obviously Victoria was goin to win but mercedes held her own!!!! If the WWE is smart they will hire her but i think it would be kick ass if she goes to ECW instead!!!!! ;D

Congrats to Mercedes. There is a review of the HEAT matches on pwtorch.com that said the match was good.

The match is now up to view on WWE.com - although being in the UK I'm geographically blocked from watching it. I'll see it on proper TV tomorrow though.

I actually checked it out, she was solid in it, however she never got a chance to showcase her #1 in-ring ability, that is her hard-hitting strikes and impact moves. Maybe the only move she really got to do was a dropkick, and some mat-wrestling stuff (headlock, arm wringer). I think the WWE shoulda gave her a little more time to showcase her major abilities, when Talia Madison worked Victoria back in Summer of last year, she at least got to do a cross body block, one of her major moves. Mercedes just doin a dropkick is not gonna cut it, i would rather see mercedes hit maybe some chops, maybe a spinebuster, and maybe go for the fisherman buster but get countered by victoria for the widows peak and the finish. I think the wwe sorta dropped the ball when it came to her becuz they didn't give her the chance to rise to the occasion like she can always do, even though it was a tryout match. I think they shoulda let her showcase more ability and prove why she is one of the best if not the best on the indy scene.

You seem to have forgotten that Mercedes also gave Victoria a northern lights suplex.

oh yeah i did, sorry, but at least they shoulda let her hit some of her strong points, in other words her striking ability.

Come on - there's no way in HELL you'd ever see a competitive match even close to the level of Martinez/Del Rey on a Sunday Night Heat taping, let alone one between a contracted and a non-contracted talent. Someone at WWE must be aware of Mercedes' work if she was given the gig... but expecting her to be able to show her skills on a Heat taping where she's specifically employed to be an enhancement talent is expecting way too much. I know it sucks... It was horrible for me as a Melissa fan to see her go down quickly to Victoria a few weeks ago too - but that's the name of the game. Besides - what they did in the ring wasn't important. How they were perceived backstage by the other women and by management will dictate whether they ever get offered a WWE contract. Could you imagine if John Laurinatis had laid out the match and Mercedes had said "Yeah, but I'd like to get in some more offence"?? Mercedes would never have been looked at again. I think it was Lance Storm who said that they gauge your response when they tell you you're losing on TV. If they get the "wrong" response, you never hear from them again.

Usually it takes about a year or so for WWE to analyse their work and indy involvement. They didn't sign Krissy until about two years after her dark match with Jenny Taylor. I think there is hope for Mercedes, she can provide so much.

no offense to the girls, and I can see why they would sign with the WWE, for the money and exposure, but women's wrestling sadly is never going to be appreciated in the WWE. When Coach called Mercedes a potential "diva" I shook my head in disgust. Most fans see women's wrestling as a "piss break" and I would much rather see these girls working hard for fans who enjoy it, than to go out there and put on a 6 minute "piss break" match. Maybe I'm being selfish, but women's wrestling to the WWE audience at least has never been taken seriously, even when they had
Molly Holly Trish Stratus Victoria Ivory Jazz Lita Gail Kim Jacqueline
going out and putting on matches on a weekly basis.
