Posting those pictures with no backstory is just cruel.
Ok, here's more details for those wondering...
It was an attempt to revive the GLOW style of women's wrestling for a TV series in early 2003. It never got past a pilot, which was filmed in Minneapolis in February of 2003.
From what I was told, more money was blown on the pilot (which no one ever saw) than every single expense we've had over the past 2 1/2 years to operate SHIMMER, and produce 18 Volumes of our DVD series. Actually, from what I was told by someone who knew the financial backer behind CRUSH, they spent over 5 times what it has cost us to run SHIMMER for 2 1/2 years... LOL.
Below are specifics, from reports posted online.
---
(From the wwlwrestling Yahoo Group)
There`s a partial report of the first CRUSH show (the group that was
originally supposed to be the new GLOW) posted at the GLORY message
board. The report is from a WOW fan who only lists which ex-WOW girls
were involved.
- Loca from Caged Heat was there. I believe she`s a heel named
``Chica`` and she was said to have been impressive, especially with
her selling.
- Slam Dunk had a new gimmick and won an arm wrestling title.
Whatever keeps her from wrestling I guess is a good thing. ;-)
- Jungle Grrrl, who has been wrestling for UPW under her real name of
Erica Porter, won the CRUSH title under a gimmick called the
X-Terminator.
- Lana Star was there as an announcer under the name Beverly Hills.
On the CRUSH site, it said she was supposed to wrestle as a face, but
I can`t see that. Her only in-ring talent while in WOW was drawing
heel heat during matches. Making her a face would be a mistake.
- Patti Pep, was there under a farm girl gimmick (from Hog Hollow,
just like every other wrestling farm girl).
- Lotus, as Loca/Chica`s heel partner won a match.
- Terri Gold, as a cheerleader character.
Sadly, no Becki TFD on the show. She was one of the few WOW girls
that could actually wrestle.
That`s all I got from the report. I`ll re-post actual match results
as soon as see them anywhere.
I know this from various other posts, for anyone that doesn`t know
anything about this fed yet, but is a fan of the women of indy
wrestling:
- The ``Naughty Girls`` team is actually a 3-girl stable, not a tag
team. It consists of Hope (Rain, of all the Lacey vs Rain matches in
the upper midwest), Faith (New England indy star Ariel), and Charity
(indy wrestler Alicia, who I learned just turned 16 which should make
us all feel kind of creepy). They do schoolgirl gimmicks, and judging
by Rain`s pic on the CRUSH site, they`re about to replace the defunct
Complete Players as my favorite wrestling stable. Rain`s frequent
opponent Lacey does a separate gimmick wearing 50`s style clothing
under the name ``Shauna Na``.
- Other indy wrestlers have gimmicks including ``Leena from Fargo``
(Kendra), ``Diva Las Vegas`` (Crystal Carmichael), ``Annabelle the
Cannibal`` (Violet Flame), ``Jersey Jean`` (Valentina/XPW`s J-Love,
not GLOW`s original Jersey Jean), and Mekka the Warrior (the
midwest`s ODB).
- GLOW`s original Hollywood is part of the fed, as ``Holly M. Wood``.
- Chris Farley`s brothers are on the writing team and I think will
appear on camera as well. This could be a huge detriment to a young
fed trying to get a tv deal.

February 3, 2003
Theatre de la Jeune Lune is in the warehouse district of Minneapolis and has that reclaimed bohemian look. Wrestling there represented a clash of cultures.
As your Field Reporter arrived the blocking for the battle royal was being worked out. Some people looked very busy and others were killing time. Things seemed to be behind schedule. This production used the Terry Fox training ring, which never looked better. It had a new canvas, pink covers over the ropes, and cloth covering up the ring posts. Performers descended down two steep ramps, one labeled "Good Girls" the other "Bad Girls." A neon sign of a pair of lips and the word "Crush" hung behind the ring. Seating for a few people was on stage, and everyone else used the regular theater seats. There was one hard camera behind the seats, one crane camera, and three hand held. TV ads on RAW and Smackdown provided a good crowd, most all the seats were filled.
Observers were skeptical of the abilities of the workers. Pre-show wagering established the following over/under lines:
• Slips down the ramp: three
• Blown spots: thirteen
• Boobs popped out of bra: one and a half
Jimmy Hart "The Mouth of the South" opened the show. He said this was to be Man Show meets Hee Haw. He promised 25 dollar Target gift certificates to those who marked out best. The Farley Brothers (John and Kevin) came out next. They are the less talented but not dead brothers of late comedian/junkie Chris Farley. They acted stupid, implored the audience to be loud, threw out Crush T-shirts, and lead the crowd in chants. Next Johnny C. came out, wearing a loud pink and blue jacket that generated "homo" chants from some in the crowd. C. has been hanging around wrestling shows for months now, in anticipation of this production. He introduced the Crush girls, and thirty-eight workers came out, soon exited, and the wrestling began.
1.) Thelma Throttle (w/Kickstart Katie, bad girls) pinned Leena of Fargo (good girl). Thelma usually wrestles as Mystique, Katie as Miss Natural. Known collectively as Hi-Octane, they came out on a Harley Davidson motorcycle. Leena, who had an ice fishing gimmick, is better known in Wisconsin as the Lovely Kendra. Leena brought out a tray of creamed walleye hotdish as a peace offering to the heels. They gave her a double DDT onto the hotdish, and the match was on. Thelma hit an inverted DDT and pinned Leena with her feet on the ropes. Reports are Kendra was unhappy with her performance and left in a huff right afterward.
Leena (the Lovely Kendra) reports: "I left right away after my match because I had to catch a 10:30 flight back home...not because I was in a huff.
"
2.) Shauna-Na (w/the Bebops) & Dot Matrix (good girls) fought "The Naughty Girls" Faith & Hope (w/Charity and Sister Mary Mount, bad girls) to a no contest. Shauna-Na (Lacey) had a "Happy Days" gimmick and wore a lot of hot pink. The Bebops were imported actresses. Dot Matrix was a computer nerd character played by Wisconsin worker Shawna Doyle. Hope was played by Rain. Faith and Charity were out of town talent. Local favorite Barb Endres portrayed Sister Mary Mount. She implored the Naughty Girls to be good and left the ring. The trio then removed some of their clothes and started a profane chant, only to be interrupted by Sister Mary. Lacey and Rain did most of the wrestling. At the end Johnny C. came out, stopped the contest, and declared the Naughty Girls "expelled."
3.) Arm Wrestling Challenge. Two audience members drew slips of paper to choose contestants. Naughty Girl Charity and Lightning won the draw. Before beginning, they were interrupted, by Big Bad Mama who said that she was the arm wrestling champion. Mama is a veteran of GLOW and appeared on Married With Children. She has a loud voice and stage presence. This night she used a Voodoo gimmick, and wore half white/half black face paint like Frank Gorshin did in Star Trek. Mama said neither of these were worthy opponents. Then "Southside Slick" came out. Slick is real tall and was Slam Dunk in WOW. These two arm wrestled, and Slick won. Incensed, Mama knocked down referee Terry Fox and threw evil Voodoo powder into the eyes of Southside Slick.
C. introduced announcer Bobby Huey (AJ Fontana). His too tight jacket drew hoots and hollers from friends and supporters in the crowd. Fontana couldn't keep a straight face to save his soul.
4.) Felony (w/Tyranny, bad girls) pinned Officer Miranda (good girl). Tyranny slipped Felony a license plate. She clobbered Miranda with it, hit what I'm told is a modified Kryptonite crunch (Modest driver?) And won the pinfall. Tyranny is better known in MIW as Candy the evil nurse. Here she wore a gray wig that made her look like Norman Bates' mother.
5.) Thunderbolt & Lightning (good girls) defeated Chica & Tsunami (bad girls). Lightning worked for GLOW and also was the "wrestling coordinator" for this show. She said that she is a Hollywood stunt woman. Chica & Tsunami worked for WOW as Loca and Lotus, respectively. JP Wenner refereed, and looked really happy to be in the ring with these four. Lightning pinned Chica after a missile drop kick.
6.) Grizelda (bad girl) squashed everyone in sight. This match started out as Naughty Girls Hope & Charity vs. Shyley & Smiley O'Reilly (w/Mighty O'Reilly, good girls) when Jimmy Hart came out with Grizelda. She's real tall and wore a get-up out of a cheap production of Wagner's Die Walkure. Hart gave Sister Mary a generous donation to the girls school and they withdrew from the match. The two O'Reillys are real little, Mighty is real big. They wore green costumes. Grizelda killed the two, went after referee Joe Erickson, then attacked two members of the audience (Autumn Hayze & Chris Jordan), giving them a double corner splash. Two security guards came out (Dan "Casual" Sexton & Shawn Daivari) who were choke slammed.
7.) Awesome Aerial (good girl) pinned Jersey Jean (bad girl). Awesome had a cheerleader gimmick. She was Terry Gold in WOW, but her wrestling skills have deteriorated. Jersey Jean looked like Britney Spears. The two did a wheelbarrow lift into a bulldog. AA won after a moonsault splash.
8.) Felony (bad girl) and X-terminator (good girl) were the two finalists in a 20 woman battle royal. The rules were the twenty would fight down to two, and those two would fight later for the Crush crown. Hollywood got her foot caught in the ropes while being flipped out by Lightning. She broke character to express her displeasure to the "wrestling coordinator" Lightning. That one also broke character to apologize.
Could have used an intermission at this point.
9.) Cousin Hailey, Sunset Flipp & Little Deer (w/Beverly Hills, good girls) defeated Hollywood, Diva Las Vegas, & Innocence (bad girls) by disqualification. Sunset Flipp used to be Miss Phoenix in Wisconsin. The others had really big sets of breast implants, and some had that lip injection look. Tens of thousands of dollars went into the creation of these bodies. Informed sources said the locker room was divided between the wrestlers and the T & A performers. Hills and Hollywood talked and introduced the others. They looked great but had poor speaking voices. The wrestling was bad, but what was important was seeing who would pop out of their costume. As stated earlier the over/under line was 1 1/2. Hollywood popped once, and Diva twice, including a rare double pop for a total of four. The heels were DQ'ed for reasons I can't recall. Beverly Hills, aka Lana Kinnear, has the website AbsoluteLana.com.
10.) Annabelle the Cannibal (w/Tyranny) & Draculetta (bad girls) defeated Shauna-Na (w/the Bebops) & Peachy the Southern Belle (good girls). Annabelle was wheeled out Lechter style by Dan "Casual" Sexton. Draculetta, (Violet of MIW) was carried to the ring in a coffin. Lacey and Violet wrestled OK. Peachy failed to kick out during a pin try, but the match went on. Naughty Girl Hope (Rain) came out with a ruler, and attacked Shauna-Na. Left alone, Peachy was quickly pinned by the bad girls who went on to bite her. The finish was to be for Hope to break the ruler over Shauna, who would then use the pieces to form a makeshift crucifix to fend off the heels. But the ruler was made of some sort of plastic that would only twist, so Lacey brandished what looked to be a big blue pretzel, and the evil pair slunk away.
11.) Mekka the Warrior (good girl) pinned Kickstart Katie (bad girl). Mekka (ODB) shook the ropes like the Ultimate Warrior. Katie hit a fallaway slam. Mekka got the pin after a missile drop kick.
12.) Glory, the All-American Girl & Lt. Desiree Storm (good girls) defeated Rage & Rampage (w/Tyranny, bad girls). Glory wore red, white and blue. Storm wore camo. The babies used double team tactics. Glory, who is Canadian, won with a hair X-Factor from the turnbuckle.
13.) X-terminator (good girl) pinned Felony (bad girl) to win the Crush Championship Crown. X-terminator was Jungle Grrrl in WOW. These two looked like they worked together before and had the stiffest match of the night. X won with a Jungle Grrrl splash. After, she was awarded a Miss America type crown to signify her Championship.
It was a long show, three hours without an intermission. The crowd grew tired by the end and some left before the conclusion. This may or may not become a TV show, but never in a million years did I think they would get this far.
