Until TNA and SHIMMER reached their working agreement last month, TNA contracted talent was not allowed to appear on SHIMMER shows, though they were allowed to appear on some other indies. That explains the lack of Roxx.

Still doesn't make sense to me. It seems vindictive on TNA's part to say a talent can work for any indie promotions they want except for SHIMMER, so I don't buy it. Rain had been with TNA since October 2007 but she appeared on ROH Video Wire segments on YouTube in March and April. Rain, Amazing Kong, and Melissa appeared on the 4/26 SHIMMER taping too. So why not Nikki?

So why not Nikki? You really need to go back and read old threads. It's common knowledge that Nikki signed a contract with TNA, which prevented her from working wherever TNA doesn't want her to work. Melissa and Rain have been working without contracts, thus TNA has no hold on them. Kong worked out a special contract with them that gives her leeway to work where she wants.

So why not Nikki? 1.) It's not "vindictive," it's a matter of business. SHIMMER has DVDs that appear in national retail chains and therefore compete with TNA's efforts to sell DVDs in national retail chains, hence the reason that TNA's women were allowed to appear elsewhere but not in SHIMMER. 2.) Word on the street is that Rain had been working for TNA on a per appearance basis, i.e. without a formal contract. 3.) The agreement between SHIMMER and TNA went in to effect as of the 4/26 tapings, so she couldn't have appeared before then. Based on what DP has mentioned about the agreement, she technically could have show up at the last SHIMMER show. It's never been explained why exactly she didn't.

I'd love to see her back. With all of the new faces (Cat Power, Ashley Lane, Danyah, Jennifer Blake, Nicole Matthews, etc.) coming to SHIMMER, it would be nice to see someone familiar. She just appeared on Volume 14, but that seems so long ago.

The bookings were probably made in Feb and March, and even earlier, before this agreement came about. Basically, the card was set before Roxx became "available."
Also, I'm not sure about Melissa's status. It wouldn't shock me if Melissa was under a deal, and that forced Dave's hand into getting this agreement done.

I dont think the deal included contracted TNA talent with the exception of Awesome Kong. But I didnt write the deal so take it for what its worth.

I dont think the deal included contracted TNA talent with the exception of Awesome Kong. Dave's phrasing at one point was "we can use whoever we want," and he mentioned that it would be technically possible for them to bring in the likes of Gail Kim even though it wasn't currently in SHIMMER's plans. That certainly makes it sound like contractual status with TNA is irrelevant.

Well then. How long does it take for hair to grow?

Nikki already had a prior booking for 4/26 before the agreement was signed (which was when she became an option for us once again).

I missed that phrasing, but it sounds great, Roxx is certainly always welcomed.
Sucks about Nikki Roxx' hair. All just to have yet another useless loser loses their hair match. battle royal into a 2 woman one fall match. It was a rather useless stipulation. I thought those things died out in the 80s anyhow.
