Best of luck from everyone at SHIMMER - WOMEN ATHLETES goes out to one of the newest additions to our roster, PORTIA PEREZ. Much like many of her fellow SHIMMER women have done in the past, such as Sara Del Rey, Ariel, and Nikki Roxx, Portia is about to embark on a month long tour for Lucha Libre Feminil in Mexico, lasting from June 1st through June 26th. Perez got valuable European experience during early 2006, wrestling for Brian Dixon's All Star promotion, and now will have the chance to add the lucha style to her mix of wrestling experience with this tour in Mexico. Look for the Portia Perez vs. Daizee Haze match, which was filmed at the SHIMMER taping on 5/21 in Berwyn, IL, to be available for free viewing online early this coming week at SHIMMERwrestling.com. www.portiaperez.com/

This should be a great experience for Portia. I wish her all the best. Nice to see Canadian girls continuing to excel in wrestling.

With Portia on hand at the recent taping, and only working one match... why didn't she get a match in with Ann (Thraxx) Brookstone? Ann was there, and that would have been a fun match, even if it was short!

I've got some news on how her first match went from a member of my board who goes to most LLF shows.
Well, It was Portia's debut in LLF doning the name Xtasis and wearing a tinny mask that is obiously bound to be lost against Tsunami who along with Chacala took on her today wile she was taging on a team with Yara. I had seen a few of her matches that were quite decent and she recently wrestled in Shimmer wich I regard as a standar for quality so I wasnt really expecting what I saw earlier today.... Man did she looked green and unconfortable in the ring, she showcased about as much skills as fellow Canadian Aurora last year at the time where her name was a staple of a green wrestler jobing to perenial losers on the opener match... After a very unconfortable looking first fall she was taken to the back, aparently she got injured during the 1st fall and was unable to continue(Im not sure where or when she got injured, a friend says she seemed to be hurting after falling on her leg during a messed spot of the second rope) but she had to be substituted by the always boring Justiciera, I guess Luciano didnt felt we were worth paying a main eventer like Diana for the extra match to do a decent fill up as she had wrestled a match before Justicera and was just hanging there because(I asume) she changed her mind about going to wrestle the match she was booked at another arena wich is the reason she was originaly booked in the undercard... Im hoping Portia's injury was nothing serious and she is ok, Im also hoping the way she looked in the ring were just foreign country nerves and miscomunication due lenguage with the gals, they did seemed to be playing it by ear and hadnt really called a single spot beforehand wich can set off even a lot more experienced wrestlers, especially if the oponents speak a diferent tounge.... If this was not an isolated incident and this is the way she looks regularly I hope after this tour is over she decides to come back for a long wile as wrestling here regularly has done wonders for gals just as green as her, The previously mentioned Aurora for instance has goten increadibly bether in very little time of wrestling regularly over three matches a week and training with her BF Silverstar but an even bether example would be the also fellow Canadian Sara Stock, she was just as green as her when she came here under the moniker Dark Angel now she is regarded as one of the best tecnicians in Mexico and is certainly one of the most popular.
I hope her injury is nothing too serious.

I know that it was probably just an off night for her and that working with a language barrier must be so diffucult. I know that with more experience she'll overcome it.
We know how terrific she is!
