Well, I finally did it. I'm always nervous about traveling, but just reserved a ticket for my first SHIMMER show in July. Any recommendations as far as which hotels will have vacancies, and such? I know nothing about Berwyn. First thing to know about Berwyn... they have no hotels. A lot of visiting Shimmer fans stay a few miles from the Eagles Club at the Rodeway Inn in Lyons. Another popular spot is the Super 8 in Bridgeview. I think the Exel Inn is still going in Bridgeview as well. I like the Hampton Inn in Westchester. Also worth considering, hotels near Midway Airport; I highly recommend the Four Points. (Only go with hotels south of Midway... there are a few north of Midway between it and the Stevenson, but they're not, how you say, good.)

I'm hoping to get a front row ticket for the show on July 5th. I have a regular ticket for the April 26th tapings. I'm wanting to be close to the action just like everybody else. Shimmer rulz!!!

July 5th Im only going with general admission, Im buying a ticket for me and my drinking buddy/sister Kris and my brother. Im guessing we should go all out for that one. Its the day after The Fourth of July, and a day before Nascar's Pepsi 400 at the Daytona International Speedway. So its a big weekend.

My computer's down with a virus - I miss this place. Only have access at the fam's place. Getting so damned excited about July 5th, which is now THE NEXT Shimmer show. I'm going to the next Shimmer show. I've already got my flight and my room at the Rodeway. Kudos to me.
Crazy, MsChif's first title defense, presumably.
I'm going to freak out like it's WM 3 and I'm 8 years old again. For better or worse.

I wanna make it to 7/5, but the problem is the $$$$ issue, Its gonna cost me a lot, if I can get some sort of coverage (when it comes to $$$ and a ride and what not) from another one of the Loyal SHIMMER fans (mainly from the northeast), that'd be great especially because I can't get a rent-a-car because I'm under 25

This should probably go without saying, but I wanted to put this out there as a friendly reminder to anybody who plans on coming in from out of town for the 7/5 show:
BOOK YOUR HOTEL ROOM THE SECOND YOU'RE SURE YOU'RE COMING.
With the holiday, rooms are going to be hard to come by. I normally stay at the Super 8 in Bridgeview for the tapings. I reserved a room for the weekend of 7/5 as I was checking out today, and the room I got was one of only two non-smoking rooms that they still had available.

There's no guarantee that this set will sell out within the same timeframe, but that might be a good rule of thumb to go by.
