I have no probelm with $50 for two tapings. What might keep me from going is the dates. Only time will tell.

it is 25 for a show if you think about it.
Other companies are 20, and now where near Shimmer Status.

Without going too much into SHIMMER's finances, there are a few reasons for a boost in ticket prices. The main one being the sheer cost of running these tapings. For the 4/26 taping, as an example, we have 20 flights to cover, 5 of which are international flights. The sellout live gate for the April show (at $40 and $20) isn't enough to even cover half of the costs of running the taping. It barely covers transportation alone. Between flights, hotel rooms, paying all of the wrestlers to work twice, venue rental, ring rental, production expenses, and everything else, it all adds up when we're presenting shows of this magnitude. Quite simply, there isn't another independent promotion anywhere in the world right now that is flying in 20 wrestlers for a show. That's a good thing, because that means other companies are being safer by limiting their budgets, and they aren't taking as big of a financial risk as we are. We're promoting the product we want to promote, regardless of the risk. Since we only have 230 seats in the Eagles Club to sell to any given taping, we either have to set the ticket prices so that we can cover a substantial portion of the costs of the show, or we have to take several steps backward, and use fewer/cheaper wrestlers. I'd rather keep the shows loaded and slightly raise the ticket price than have to scale back. Hopefully this sheds a little light on things for everybody. If $50 is out of your price range for front row in July, keep in mind that we'll still have general admission tickets available later in the month. Thanks everybody!

You could easily not explain why the prices were raised because you don't have to and people will still buy the tickets and still go to the shows. Yet, you have enough respect for your fans to give them a little insight on what exactly you're doing and how much goes into it. Much respect, Mr. Prazak.

My grandma always had this saying, if you pay for something cheap, you get something cheap. If the tickets needs to be fifty bucks for an awesome show, so be it. It's better than having a bunch of green wrestlers putting on a mediocre show.

If I pay $200, can I get a seat in the corner of the ring...?
Oh, and a tazer, to protect me from Melissa.

Yeah, DP is cool like that. I didn't mean to come off as so complainey in my earlier post, more an observation and comment on my own situation.

I looked up prices from Long Island to Chicago the week of July 4th. A one way ticket costs the same as my round trip in April.

Yeah, so now you see what we're up against running the show that weekend as well concerning transportation costs. July 5th was actually the only Saturday during the summer months where the Eagles Club availability matched up with gaps in the ROH, AAW, and FIP schedules to allow for us to run... so it came down to either running on July 5th with higher expenses, or waiting until the fall to tape again. So, July 5th it is!
Dann Read had a Sunday, July 6th date tentatively scheduled for a ChickFight event in the UK, but rescheduled his show for another date in July in order to help us out and free up the talent that would be working for both companies that weekend. Again, I'll stress... it's tough to find dates that work with everyone's schedules, but we're doing our best.

I want to go to this SHIMMER Show, but combining the prices for the ticket, flight, hotel, etc, is gonna cost me a crapload of money and that's gonna make it tough, because in 2008 I will be @ SHIMMER, and it all depends on when the Mercedes Martinez Website is launched. thus one of the reasons why I'm wisely enuff not going to 4/26 is 1. because the website is not launched, & 2. I have college that morning until 11:30-12 so I can't even make it in time for showtime. So I'll try for 7/5, but I can't make any promises.
