Ok this isn't an official or unofficial appreciation thread or any of that, just simply a general thread for those that want to talk about The Latina Sensation.
Now during 2007 she was only in a few Shimmer matches(mainly against Sara) and as the 2008 Shimmer season approaches, she is set to make her return and I know we all expect her to fight against Sara again, but I'm more interested in who else you would like to see her have matches against. I enjoyed her match with Lufisto on Vol. 7. It was a hard hitter that gave Mercedes a nice challenge.
What I want to see, is a match with her and Sarah Stock. To me this has the potential of being an incredible match, given what I've seen that Sarah can do. They are around the same size, both strong but with totally different styles(Strong Style vs. Lucha Libre) This is most likely my top choice, though I'd like to see her against Melissa and Daizee, even Mschif.

If there's one person that's going to take the belt from Del Rey it's Mercedes, at the upcoming tapings, she should take on someone for the first DVD, Sarah Stock is a great example, and then later on, similar to the case on Vol 7, challenge Del Rey for the title for the next taping that night, and then beat Del Rey cleanly and become the 2nd ever champion and have a good run as champion.

If Mercedes wins the SHIMMER Title, I riot. Gotta love those one-man riots.... It's going to happen sooner or later but I'll be happy just to see her back in action again. A word of advice on the rioting though, be sure you know what you're getting into. You try to riot against this....  (credit to wrestlinwally for the photo)you could be in for some trouble, she looks like she's packing heat.... ;D |

It has been talked about before that Shimmer could use more top heels. I know that Mercedes is pretty much a face but I think she'd make a great heel. She could come out dressed in the above or some similar thuggish gear(I know about the booty vulture thing in ROH...) and mouth off to the fans in spanish...lol. That'd be great.

Plus as i said about 2-3 wks ago it would make business sense for fed to rotate face/heel stars as champs! This may be ancient news, but has anyone else noticed that Mercedes Martinez' loss in Volume 2 was completely bogus. Clearly, the Haze tagged Mercedes to enter the match, thus making SDR and Haze the legal participants. There's no way Miss Martinez could have anticipated getting Pearl Harbor'd by the Haze or that the normally efficient referee would even allow the pinfall to take place.
I mention this because that match seems to be one of the favorite and pivotal matches in SHIMMER to date. The wrestlers did a great job, but that aforementioned development denies this match its place among the top matches in SHIMMER history.
