So we're pretty much guaranteed to not be able to watch 51-52 before the Vol. 53 iPPV, right? I'm pretty much resigned to that fate at this point. But you could watch the replay after we do finally get them.

Yeah, but PPVs are meant to be watched live. *sigh* Yeah, I'm going to be at the 53 event live, and it really sucks that I won't be able to see 51-52 before it. Even if it ships, there is no way to watch 6 hours of good wrestling in the amount of time that I will have after it arrives.

Seeing 51 & 52 is not "required viewing" to be able to follow what we do at 53. Since a large portion of the crowd will be seeing SHIMMER for the first time that day (casual Mania weekend fans), the show is going to flow in a way which is easy for the everyone to follow, whether they've never seen SHIMMER before or if they have followed us for the past several years.

[Much of] the results of 51 & 52 will be spoiled just be seeing who the champs currently are and also by the commentating (ex. "...after her victory at Shimmer Vol. 51..."). It's not an issue of making it accessible and easy to follow for the casuals. It's actually the opposite. By explaining everything up until that point, it's going to spoil what we miss on the previous 2 volumes. And that's why it's an issue for me. I've actually just cancelled my pre-order from WWN Live. I'm just going to wait for the DVD (I realize that I could just watch it on demand later, but the DVD will no doubt be a more trim and proper product).

How do you avoid spoilers for stuff that's happened like 6 months ago? Being on this board is a spoiler itself. O.o

So what do you do when you buy a DVD? Watch it once then sell it?

Well i read the tapings results and by the time the dvd comes out ive already forgot the results ive read. you must really be into it if you want to watch the dvds with out knowing the results. it ain't worth it man. you wont remember the results except for who the champ is. it doesn't matter you havent seen the match. imagine how dave feels then knowing the results before the tapings takes place cause its scripted oops spoiler alert. I've usually forgotten 75% of the matches by the end of a taping weekend...

I look at pro wrestling (any brand) the same way I see a serialized TV show. I never watch the "next time on..." clips just as I don't look at the next SHIMMER cover until I've watched everything up until then.
The beauty in pro wrestling [for me] is being able to be surprised and caught off guard. In the past I've read spoilers here and there, and it completely ruined my experience when the show finally came around. There was no magic.
I understand that most people in forums like these know what's going to happen ahead of time, and that's fine. I'm just not sure why so many people seem to find it wrong that I do things differently. I simply prefer to be a classic, or old school fan. I thought I might find at least one person here that could appreciate that, but so be it.
By the way, if the show wasn't announced to be repackaged for the DVD, then I would've just kept my iPPV order and watched it later. Not sure what the big deal is, kids.

To clarify, the DVD edit of the show will replace the live edit on the WWNLive VOD of 53 once the DVD edit is completed.

I don''t think it's your preference not to be spoiled that people find wrong. I think it's more about your assertion that if you do know the result to a match ahead of time, it ruins the entire experience. Surely the 'magic' comes from the match itself, not the result. Who wins and loses is important, yes. But from a spectator's point of view isn't the real thrill in watching the action itself?

That being the case, I'll most likely just get this On Demand. The less plastic in the world the better. I don''t think it's your preference not to be spoiled that people find wrong. Who wins and loses is important, yes. But from a spectator's point of view isn't the real thrill in watching the action itself? Again, this is the issue. Am I not entitled to my own opinion? I don't care that anyone else's experience isn't spoiled. I'm not telling anyone else it's wrong to feel a certain way about it. But here someone else is telling me that the way I naturally feel about it isn't correct. The more you try to convince me that I should feel differently, the less I appreciate this "fan base", or "club". When a different perspective welcomed, rather than ridiculed, it creates an open and positive atmosphere. I patiently await this.

My intention wasn't to change your mind, nor do I imagine was that anyone else's intent. Speaking for meself, I'm simply trying to understand your viewpoint. I'm honestly just curious about it. For example, given the import you place on being 'surprised and being caught off guard', are you able to rewatch a match, or even an entire show after that initial viewing?
