When I first heard that Christina was debuting at the 37-40 tapings, I had to admit I was a bit skeptical as I had only seen still photos of her. I have to confess that I was not really in to the punk look either. I guess this placed me in the "stupid haircut" camp with Sara Del Rey.
Right before 37-40, I saw one or two of Christina's matches on youtube and thought "not bad, let's see what happens at Shimmer". When I heard about the Del Rey ambush and feud, I felt a mixture of sympathy and admiration that Christina would stand up to one of the, if not THE most talented and dangerous wrestler in history. Hearing that she them took on Mercedes Martinez the same weekend made me say "this woman's got guts!"
When I got the 37-40 DVDs I was not disappointed-not only were the reports of Christina's performance borne out, she also gave off more charisma that weekend than many wrestlers do in a lifetime. She also looked absolutely stunning. After many years of thinking otherwise, I was forced to admit that the phrase "gorgeous punk woman" is NOT an oxymoron.
Now that I am a confirmed Von Eerie fan, I am looking forward to seeing her in volumes 43-48 as well as seeing her in person (YES!!!!!!!!!) when she debuts on the East Coast next month.

What does "Oi" mean? Just wondering.
Loved her matches with Del Rey & Melissa.

Definitely not just a stupid haircut!
I will say I didn't enjoy her matches in 45-46 as much as her previous matches, but still. Glad she's on the roster. Pity her stint in TNA didn't go further. Has she said anything about it since leaving?

What does "Oi" mean? Just wondering "Oi" is an expression from old working-class London, England. It basically means "hey." But in SHIMMER it's used in two different ways... 1... In the case of Christina Von Eerie... "Oi!" is a subgenre of punk rock. Christina Von Eerie's look is clearly that of a punk rocker. She has an early 1980s punk look. I believe people started chanting "Oi!" during her matches when her outfit had the word "Oi!" written on it. 2... In the case of the Australians... It has nothing to do with punk rock. "Aussie Aussie Aussie, Oi Oi Oi" is a chant used during Australian sport events. In SHIMMER, the Australian chant has just been used during Jessie McKay matches, but in Australia it has also been used during Shazza McKenzie matches, for example. So the next time Shazza McKenzie (or any other Australian babyface) comes to SHIMMER, feel free to start an "Aussie Aussie Aussie, Oi Oi Oi" chant. I mention this difference in usage, because I remember talking to someone who was a little bit confused. Christina Von Eerie is from California, not from Australia.

So sort of like chanting "U-S-A!"?

If I ever attend a Shimmer show, I might just try that "Aussie" chant. I'd be guarenteed it wouldn't flop.

One of the cool, little moments this past SHIMMER taping involved CVE. It was right at the beginning of her tag match with MsChif. There was a "check the mohawk" chant as the ref was checking the wrestlers for illegal objects. So, CVE, politely tilted her head and smiled while the ref tapped her hair. It was just one of those funny little things that I enjoyed a lot.

Then she accidentally poked MsChif in the eye with her hair. That match was so fun.

I'm sorry I missed that team-up Sunday. Sounds like a lot a fun. It's more than just that Sunday. They have teamed up four times so far. Volume 44, AAW Epic, Volume 47, Volume 48.

Then she accidentally poked MsChif in the eye with her hair. That match was so fun. I loved that match so much. At one point MsChif and Hatred were in the ring and I yell out "There is a lot of green in the ring right now!" and MsChif turns around and looks at me and goes "I know, right?!". I laughed my ass off at that.
