Before I begin, I should point out that this was my first Bellatrix show. Now I see what all the hype has been about. All the articles, all the interviews, all the discussion... It doesn't do justice to just how amazing Bellatrix really is. I was blown away by 7 amazing contests, that I had the pleasure of seeing live. I offer my thanks and admiration to the entire roster. If you weren't there, then go catch a replay of the iPPV.
BELLATRIX 5 24/03/2013
EPIC TV was abuzz as Zak Knight walked through the curtain, announcing that Bellatrix was Live on internet pay-per-view around the World. After a brief introduction, we got straight down to business.
1 – Phobia (w/ Sam Knee) vs Chanel Well, almost straight down to business. As could be expected, Sam Knee got his hands on a microphone and proceeded to inform the watching fans that Phobia was about to hurt one of their favourites, for no reason other than to upset the fans. Before the bell Chanel offered the masked mystery a handshake, but all she got in return was Phobia sniffing her up and down. When the match got underway, there was very little in the way of wrestling. Instead, we were treated to a crazed and violent attack by Phobia, that saw her receive two public warnings for hair pulling and rope use. Adding to this Sam Knee getting involved the second the ref's back was turned, and it seemed like Chanel wasn't going to get much of a chance. Much to the crowd's delight, however, Chanel used first forearms and then kicks to mount somewhat of a comeback, punctuating her offence with an enziguri, that scored her a 2 count near fall. Any chance of continuing her offence was soon cut off by Phobia, who grabbed Chanel by the head, throwing it between her legs and nailing a powerbomb that secured the winning fall. WINNER – Phobia (Pinfall in 5:15)
2 – Violet O'Hara vs Bacardi The second contest started with referee Michael Mann having his name chanted during his entrance. His job did not seem like it was going to be easy, with Bacardi seeming to ignore his pre-match instructions and looking bored in the rundown of the rules. Bacardi continued to be trouble after the bell, twice refusing to lock up, asking Mr Mann to first check her hair, and then her outfit, to ensure they were fine. When she eventually engaged in the contest, she used her size advantage well, taking the early control. A series of throws, most involving the hair of O'Hara, drew the first Public Warning of the contest. A solid suplex followed, but only for a 2 count. Unhappy, Bacardi pushed down the raised shoulder, but could only again get a two count. Momentum then shifted, with O'Hara getting a series of near falls from a crossbody, a schoolgirl rollup, and then a bulldog. It would then shift once again, as Bacardi made use of the ropes to choke O'Hara, and as such received her second Public Warning of the match. Two bodyslams followed, the first from a suplex-style lift, and the second a version with the slam preceded by a spin. Each would be followed by a cocky pin cover, and each would only be worth a single count on the pin. Annoyed, Bacardi whipped O'Hara into the corner. She followed in, only to be met by the boot of O'Hara. On the second charge, Violet got both boots up, and on the third, she ducked down, evading the hit and flowing around Bacardi into another schoolgirl rollup for two. After being drop-to-held into the turnbuckles, Bacardi chose to leave the ring for a rest. No such rest was possible, however, as she was kicked by a Violet baseball slide. Obeying the rules, both were quick back into the ring, with Bacardi slightly quicker to her feet, grabbing O'Hara and dropping her with a delayed suplex. Still she could only score a 2 count on the fall. Deciding something big was needed, Bacardi set her opponent up onto the top rope. Violet fought off whatever she was going to attempt, before leaping down with a somersault kick to the head. This impressive move would still not be enough to score a winning fall. Grabbing the head of Bacardi, Violet pointed to the corner, and to cheers of the crowd ran up the turnbuckles to hit a Shiranui/Sliced Bread #2. Three seconds later we had the second winner of the night. WINNER – Violet O'Hara (Pinfall in 11:03)
3 – Miss Mina vs Amy Lee Kramer For the first time in the night, a match opened with a handshake. Despite the pre-match civility, the match did not open easy. Straight away Mina tried for a clothesline, which ALK just about managed to roll under. A second clothesline met the same response. The pair then exchaged headlocks, before Amy was sent off into the ropes. She came back with a hurricanrana-facebuster. A second hurricanrana attempt saw Amy thrown around and dropped with a sidewalk slam, and then covered for the first two count of the match. Mina then tried to continue her offence in the corner, but was rolled up for her troubles. Kramer followed with a small package and a sunset flip, each of the three fall attempts only lasting for 2. Mina then took charge with a series of kicks, the first to the stomach, followed by a boot to the head, and enziguri and then a running soccerball style kick to a seated Kramer. This sequence was completed by a running neck-snap to a still seated Kramer. Amy avoided a second running kick by dropping to her back, which allowed her to roll Mina up again for another 2 count. Kramer continued her offence with a pair of crossbodys from the second rope, but both times Mina was able to throw up her shoulder at 2. Much like she did the previous night at Epic Encounters, Mina hoisted up her opponent up and delivered a solid Death Valley Driver. Amy seemed stranded when placed up into a Tree of Woe position in the corner, and things went from bad to worse, with Mina leaping through the air to almost decapitate her opponent with a dropkick. As Kramer flopped down to the canvas, it looked like it could be over, but Mina wasn't finished. She hit the ropes, taking down a staggering Kramer with a running cutter. This was followed by a grounded dragon sleeper. With her spine bending backwards, and the ropes just out of reach, ALK had no option but to submit. WINNER – Miss Mina (Submission, no time announced)
4 – RQW European Title Queen Maya © vs Liberty The first of two championship bouts was chosen to end the first half. A true main-event level contest set to cap off what had already been an impressive opening section to the show. Before we could begin, the National Anthem's of our competitor's countries were played. Firstly, the Italian theme for our champion. This was not received well, the crowd partaking in various chants of “England” through. The second anthem, that of the UK, had the room on its feet and in fine voice. Next came the rules, followed by the handshake. Liberty reached out her hand.. Only to be shoved back by a Queen that seemed slightly unsettled by the vocal crowd. As the bell sounded, Liberty returned the push, only for Maya to respond with an even more force, removing the challenger from her feet. Liberty shot up, and charged in, Thez pressing her opponent and initiating what is best described as a catfight. The pair rolled around the ring slapping and pulling hair in a frenzy. With control slipping away, Ocean decided to issue both with a Public Warning. The high-emotion continued as the pair entered a lockup for the first time, hitting the corner and rolling along the ropes. Neither would let go upon request, with Ocean having to physically come between the pair to separate them. Reset in the centre of the ring, Liberty ran the ropes hoping for a shoulder-charge takedown. Twice she tried, and twice Maya refused to budge. Upon a third attempt, Maya ran at the opposite ropes, using her size and momentum to launch Liberty backwards and to the canvas. Maya chose to follup up with some chest slaps, before armdragging Liberty over into the first pin. After a quick one-count, Liberty took a turn at offence, connecting first with a spinning hurricanrana, and then a running bulldog. She had more luck, getting a 2-count fall for her efforts. An attempted corner-whip was reversed, and the reversing continued as Maya caught the boots of Liberty, who had tried to use them to halt a charge. The caught legs were thrown across the ropes, and the now rope-sitting Liberty had her hair used to pull her backwards from the ropes and over the knee of Maya. The Italian soon received her second Public Warning for not allowing the opponent to rise. Another two count followed a clothesline in the corner, before Maya dropped an elbow, only to be told Ocean would not count the fall due to not allowing the opponent up. Size soon became a factor, as Maya locked her long arms around the waist of Liberty in a bearhug. The first escape attempt failed, and the second looked more promising, but was soon cut off by a spinning side slam (“Black Hole Slam”) from Maya. On the rise, Liberty was once again caught in a bearhug, this one seeing her lifted off her feet. In a candidate for move of the night, Liberty countered this bearhug into a monstrous DDT, with the impact intensified by her using the momentum of her fall from Maya's full height in driving down the neck. The following cover was for sure a close-call 2.99. A pair of clotheslines from Liberty lead to another 2, but still the three was elusive. What looked like an attempt at a third saw Maya dive forwards, planting her forearm into the jaw of the challenger. Again a tense, close two count followed. Rising to their feet, a strike battle had the crowd hooked. The pair each went for a clothesline at the same time, and as Zak Knight informed us there was three minutes to go, both women lay prone on the mat. Jimmy began the count, only to be forced to drop to the canvas at 8 as Maya threw an arm over Liberty... Who kicked out at 2! Liberty was launched into the corner, and damn near had her teeth kicked in by a Yakuza kick. Maya whipped her to the mat, covering but somehow it was still only two. With time ticking away, she began to look desperate. Again she cornered the challenger, lifting her up to the top. A strike battle began, with Liberty at one point falling from the turnbuckle to the apron. She regained her composure, climbing back up to leap over her opponent... And drive Maya down with a 2nd rope sunset flip powerbomb! Amidst a wild frenzy from the crowd, Jimmy Ocean counted 1..2..3!! WINNER & NEW RQW EUROPEAN CHAMPION – Liberty!!
As she was handed the title, it seemed as though what she had just done was a blur, and that she was in shock... But Liberty didn't disappoint the fans, turning to them with a huge smile on her face with the belt held high.

5 – Skarlett vs Rebecca Mason (w/ Mike Mason) Back from the break, and things continued to hot up. The pre-match handshake was tense, each refusing to take their eyes off the other. The crowd, however, seemed to be having fun with various chants and “woofing” aimed at Mike Mason, who had been tied to the ringside barrier by a dog collar and lead. Inside the ring, the match opened with a brilliant display of technical back and forth. Mason took the first headlock, with Skarlett rolling out into a top wristlock and thowing Mason to the mat. A second lockup had Skarlett take the lead with a hammerlock, which she worked around to a front facelock, before going back to the arm grounding Mason in an armbar. Rebecca countered out into a headscissors lock, which Skarlett managed to escape before putting Mason into a bow and arrow hold. The bombshell from Hell decided to release the hold herself, and the pair returned to their feet. Staring down again, Skarlett dared Mason to hit the ropes. Rebecca obliged, running the ropes, only for the pair to collide in the centre in a stalemate. A second rope run, and a second stalemate. Trying a third time, Skarlett dropped under the run, and under the second rebound, before Mason leaped into the air with a diving shoulder tackle. Beaten, Skarlett slid from the ring, immediately spotting Mike Mason at ringside. Taunting him, she grabbed his tennis ball and threw it along the ringside area. Being chained to the railing, he couldn't chase, but could be hit in the back by a Skarlett clubbing blow. This taunting earned Skarlett her first Public Warning. Returning to the ring, Skarlett took to the offence once more, using the ropes to work over the arm of Mason. This caused a second Public Warning. Mason got herself free, running in and sliding between the legs of Skarlett to ringside, before pulling her opponent off the apron. A ringside brawl began, with each throwing the other into the barrier and ringpost. Under the threat of countout, the action was returned to within the ropes. Immediately Skarlett went for a couple of pin-covers, but could only manage two counts. A hard suplex would earn a third two count, and a legdrop a fourth. Mason turned things around after being thrown to the corner, evading a charge before hanging each of Skarlett's legs over the second rope. Taking a few steps back, Rebecca ran in, planting both knees into her opponent's chest, then pulling her down into a ribcracking codebreaker.. Which was still only a two count. Mason put Skarlett in the tree of woe, driving boot after boot into the midsection of the trapped foe. The attack drew Mason a Public Warning. The follow-up baseball-slide kick failed, but did allow Skarlett to perform a hanging sleeper from her inverted position after Rebecca had collided with the post. Returning to her feet, Skarlett dropped a DDT. A few strikes set her up to lift Mason into a firemans carry, but the quick-thinking Rebecca slipped out the back with a sunset-flip cover, which once broken she followed with a magistral-cradle leap over fall. A Mason spear connected hard, and then Zak's voice came ringing out. “Final minute of the contest” With one minute to go, a strike battle initiated. Shot after shot back and forth reigned down. “45 seconds” The striking continued until Skarlett ended the battle with a running clothesline. “30 seconds” Skarlett hit the ropes, only for Mason to plant her with a huge spinebuster.. A pinfall looked like a sure three until Skarlett grabbed the bottom rope. “20 seconds” Skarlett rammed a boot into the gut of Mason, before crunching across the neck with an axe kick. “10 seconds” Things got frantic, Skarlett adjusting her opponent, all the while Zak counting down from 10..
Skarlett flipped over into a Cattle Mutilation...
“5..4..3..”
And then.. Mason screamed out in submission... With barely moments to spare, Skarlett managed to secure the victory. WINNER – Skarlett (Submission in 14:58)
6 – Erin Angel vs Penelope This match started with a show of respect, both shaking hands and firing up the crowd, to which the crowd responded in fine vocal form. Our second contest of the half started much like it's predecessor, with a great technical back and forth. The pair matched each other for counters to a wristlock, showcasing their athletic ability and technical skill. This sequence of counters came to an end when Angel armdragged Penelope to free herself. A pin trade came next, with each sweeping out the leg of the other and trying for an early fall. Neither could hold down their opponent for more than a single count though. Next came arm drags, with each throwing over the other, only for both to run the ropes and try throwing the other. Their matched skills did not go un-noticed, garnering a round of applause from the crowd. Hand grasped hand as the two engaged in a test of strength. Penelope got the upper hand first, taking Angel down to a bridge, and a single count. Angel powered out, sending Penelope back into a bridge of her own with shoulders on the mat. 1..Penelope throws up her right shoulder, which Angel forces back into the mat. 1..She then throws up her left shoulder, which is also pushed back down. 1..Both shoulders are lifted in a bridge.. Angel leaps up and lands on Penelope pushing her down. 1..2..Penelope throws Angel over herself monkey-flip style, rolling backwards to straddle-cover her. 1..2..Angel throws off Penelope, and the two get to their feet, still locked together by the hands. Angel used her knee to break the hold, working some offence to ground Penelope in a sleeper. When it seemed like the hold wasn't getting anywhere, she rose back up, taking the head of Penelope and driving it into the mat with a sitout facebuster. Covering, Angel got a two count. Whipped into the ropes, Penelope leaped over her opponent into a sunset flip. 1..2..Angel grabbed the ropes. Getting up quickly, she pushed Penelope back into a prawn hold. 1..2..Penelope pushed the head of Angel, flipping her back to a sunset-flip pinning position. 1..2..Angel powered up, sitting on the chest of Penelope. 1..2..Penelope herself powered back again 1..2..Angel rolled backwards, coming forwards into a jackknife cover. 1..2..In an impressive move, Penelope bridged up, lifting Angel on top of herself, before spinning around into a backslide. 1..2..Angel kicked out to end the sequence of fast pins. Back on their feet, Japanese armdrags were traded. As things looked balanced, Angel got in a period of offence that saw Penelope clubbed and dropped, before Penelope came back with an Enziguri. A Penelope springboard crossbody missed, but the follow-up Angel moonsault didn't, and Erin secured a fall. WINNER – Erin Angel (Pinfall in 11:27)
7 – Main Event – SHIMMER World Title – 10x3min rounds, 2/3 falls Destiny (w/ Sam Knee, Alex Young and Mikky Lynch) vs Sweet Saraya © (w/ Ricky Knight, Roy Knight and RJ Knight) Judges: Jason Cross, Scott Edgar, Joe Penny
And so it came down to this. Crowd on the edge of their seats, or at least those still in theirs were, and the tensions high. There was no civility. There was no handshake. Only cold, hard stares. This was certainly going to be tough on everyone involved. Jimmy Ocean checked both competitors, and then called for the bell to a thunderous cheer.
R1 – Suddenly, all hell broke loose. Fists flying as The Referee's Nightmare and The English Rose collided in the centre of the ring. It would take an eye poke from Destiny for the scuffle to break. The poke was followed by rope-assisted choking, a move that drew a very early first Public Warning towards Destiny. Saraya fought back with a sleeper, until her larger opponent slammed her to the mat like a sack of potatoes. The action stayed frantic, with more strikes exchanged, until Saraya whipped Destiny into the corner, charging in to drop her opponent to a seating position. Saraya then charged again, planting both feet firmly into the face of Destiny, who had next to no time to recover before the round ended. (SS 0, D 0) R2 – The two approached one another, and quickly Saraya was sent reeling when Destiny sprayed drink into her eyes. Some shoulder thrusts and a charge splash in the corner, followed by a running splash to a grounded Saraya winded the champion.. And within 45 seconds of the round, our first fall was scored. (Sweet Saraya 0, Destiny 1) R3 – Having barely made it to her feet at the end of the intermission, Sweet Saraya looked out of it. Destiny made the most of it, using the ropes to further choke, before whipping her opponent to the corner. An enraged Sweet Saraya charged out again, delivering a flurry of strikes and earning herself a Public Warning. A slam and double legdrop could only get two counts, before Saraya got her second Public Warning for a low kick in the corner. Destiny managed to turn things back around, locking in a leg hold while using the ropes. Jimmy Ocean didn't take well to the cheating, forcing the hold to be broken just seconds before the round could end. (SS 0, D 1) R4 – In a display of supposed sportswomanship, Destiny dropped to a knee and offered a handshake. The crowd loudly objected, not trusting the Fiery Redhead. Saraya herself summarised the protests by raising her middle finger into the face of Destiny, then driving in a hard kick. Destiny didn't take well to the rejection, kicking back and driving Saraya from the ring. The bout then took to ringside, the entire time Ricky loudly remonstrating to official Ocean that it's British rules and he should get it back into the ring. The highlight of the ringside attack was Sweet Saraya being sent head-first into the ringpost, a shot that was enough to draw blood, and that caused Destiny to receive her second Public Warning. As Saraya rolled back into the ring, RJ Knight had to be restrained by Zak, as the young man seemingly could not take seeing his Grandmother in pain. A smiling Destiny hoisted her opponent up, planting her down again with a tombstone piledriver. In a shock, Sweet Saraya managed to throw up a shoulder at two, surviving the pinfall, and making it to the end of the round (SS 0, D1) This break was emotional. With Sweet Saraya looking to be bleeding from both the hairline and lip, she had to be checked over by our official. During the entire procedure, she was pleading with both Jimmy and Ricky to not stop the contest, no matter what. R5 – A brawl erupted to start the round, with Sweet Saraya finding a new lease of life, gaining an upper hand with a flurry of fast strikes. Her momentum was cut off briefly as Destiny rammed her into the corner, but as the larger opponent charged in, Saraya managed to sidestep, before securing a rollup that levelled the contest. (Sweet Saraya 1, Destiny 1) In the break The English Rose continued to plead with her husband, refusing to let him throw in the towel on the contest. R6 – At the start of 6, we got our first collar and elbow of the contest. It came as no surprise that neither could best the other, and the hold was forced to be broken. Destiny got the upper hand after the release, hitting a suplex for a 2 count. She followed with a backbreaker, that again was only worth 2, although it did appear as though she herself pulled up from the pin. Locking in a headlock, it seemed as though Saraya was fading fast. I'm unsure if she made it to her feet herself, or if she was dragged, but once up, Destiny dropped a sidewalk slam that again would only be a two count. A series of headbutts to the previously-targeted skull closed out the round (SS 1, D 1) R7 – Again Champion hit the ground running, firing off a set of strikes that pushed Destiny back into the corner. A follow up charge continued the strong sequence, but a whip attempt got reversed. Destiny's run met boot, and Saraya ducked the follow-up swinging arm. An attempted fireman carry seemed to fail with little left in the English Rose's tank, but she managed to take down her opponent anyway. Leaping to the 2nd rope, Saraya dived with a falling splash, and it was all over three seconds later. WINNER and STILL SHIMMER CHAMPION – Sweet Saraya!! (2 falls to 1, winning fall in 1:26 of Round 7)
While Destiny may have been enraged, yelling at anyone that would listen, a battered, bloodied and drained Sweet Saraya had the gold again around her waist and her arm raised. The entire Bellatrix roster emerged to the entranceway to celebrate with the winner, while in the ring, Zak Knight bid farewell to the iPPV audience to end the show.
