The finish and aftermath of Madison/Melissa reminds me of Steamboat/Flair from WrestleWar '89: Flair beats Steamboat for the title, Terry Funk attacks Flair to start their feud, and Steamboat just disappears.
Madison is definitely looking like Steamboat here, becoming an afterthought after losing and Nicole attacking Melissa. It makes me ponder what the future holds for her in SHIMMER, if she has one at all. It's possible DP has decided she has peaked in SHIMMER and would no longer be worth the cost to bring over to the States anymore.
If she is continuing in SHIMMER, I wouldn't expect her back until the V. 49-52 tapings, similar to MsCHif missing the v. 33-36 tapings after losing the title. By that time, she'll be completely fresh to the SHIMMER crowd and ready to begin her next chapter in the company.

No idea why you think Madison somehow isn't of further value to SHIMMER. If anything, the past couple years of hard work she has put in on our events has proven she is one of the most valuable performers in the industry. As long as she is available to appear, she will be on every show we run.

I've heard she is also a valuable locker room presence, and plus isn't she like rooted in Australia? That's gotta intrigue a whole new market of DVD buyers, too. Gotta think these posts through, people!! hehehe. I've stayed away from this thread entirely because of the hating on small package finishes. Like, that just reflects a lack of classic taste in rassiling. That's what WWE and TNA are doing to the kids these days! Sad really.

Granted, with the injuries Madison has, that we've been made aware of to date, perhaps sitting out a taping to heal wouldn't be such a bad idea... Then again, if she's good to go, I see no reason to leave her off the roster.

Then again, if she's good to go, I see no reason to leave her off the roster. In wrestling it's not uncommon for someone to lay low for a while after completing a big program before coming back to start anew. Madison just completed a run as SHIMMER champion, which is about as big as it gets and as I said earlier, bringing her in is expensive. Therefore, it may be practical both creatively and financially not to use her for the next tapings.
I'm not saying that I'm right, it's just an opinion.

Creatively, I don't understand why a heel would run away after losing in a small package.

Unless you're running a depression angle, lol. I think when people disappear after big loses in rassiling it's more because they just decisively got their ass handed to them, and they need to nurse their wounds. This wouldn't really apply to SHIMMER since the tapings are as far apart as they are. Also I think using expenses as a reason would be a big break from kayfabe, and if you're going to cut international talent you're going to want to start somewhere else than the leader of the Australian league because obviously she is an attraction in the international DVD market and thus that's not exactly benefiting recouping your expenses. And she's a locker room leader, if you want proof of that you can watch Nicole Matthews interview with Elliot Harris where he throws her off a bit and she calls in Eagles to play off of.

NO! Madison is too awesome to miss the next tapings and since it will be my first I do not want to miss seeing her! If she's not completely healed, you can stick her in tag team matches to lighten her workload. I love Death Eagles, so I am not against seeing that tag team some more.

It is extremely obvious that she is one of the top women in the world....and it is very comforting to see that she'll always be back as long as she's available.
