If you've seen the end of Ultimate Lucha, you'll know that Marty 'The Moth' Martinez kidnaps Sexy Star and in the closing cinematic segment he mentions that Sexy "Won't be laughing when you meet my sister"; now it may just be me, but I kinda imagine that it's going to be Cheerleader Melissa since she's apparently been doing dark matches for the promotion.
However I think that Mercedes could've been great for the role, not just because she and Marty have the same last name, but Mercedes is a better promo than Melissa and I think that she could pull of the crazy thing that Marty does so well at. Plus it would be a sight to see her do the arm flap before she hit an opponent with one of her infamously nasty chops.
I mean I would love to see Melissa on Lucha Underground but I'm not confident that she'll have the promo skills to keep up with people as charismatic as Marty, Ivelisse and Angelico; maybe if she would be Marty's sister, she could take some acting classes or something because her promos have never been her strong point and Lucha Underground's promos and cinematic segments are the driving force of the product and the stories.
Plus Mercedes 'The Moth' Martinez just sounds bad-ass as a name.

I am at a complete loss how to even respond to this...

I am at a complete loss how to even respond to this... Yet you still, technically, responded to this.

Knowing Melissa, and having watched most of the first season of Lucha Underground, she would come out and do her Future Legends pose at the top of the stairs in the bleacher area with her half smile/half sneer on her face, saying absolutely nothing at all. The crowd would feel the charisma wafting off her and go increasingly bonkers in response, drumming their hands over any metal object available. Melissa would stroll slowly into the ring, wait for her ring announcement and get to work - no promos needed. The great thing about Lucha Underground is that they've use the strengths of their wrestlers and they have diverted attention from the weaknesses of their wrestlers. Unlike WWE, they're not putting people with poor promo skills out there to do 5 minute promos. They're having them silent or saying very little. They're not requiring Spanish-speaking wrestlers to talk pidgeon English. They're not grounding their high-flyers. They're using their varied performers for what they're good at, and they have enough variety, and the shows are short enough, that it's hardly ever boring.

Marty does the talking, Melissa gives out the beatings. Works for me.
Mercedes would be great in LU, though. Take her, Melissa, Sexy Star and a healthy Ivelisse, then add in Jennifer Blake and Taya Valkyrie, who are already in AAA, and you've got some fun women's matches. Plus there is a GFW-AAA talent agreement, so you could get guest appearances from Mickie James and Christina Von Eerie, who both have history in AAA.

I've just watched all of season 1 and it is the best wrestling show I've ever seen!
Melissa could work. I don't know if she can play that kind of character though. I get the impression that his sister is going to be psychotic and I can't picture Melissa doing that. Mary Dobson seems like a perfect fit, but she seems on the cusp of a WWE deal given how she's been enhancement talent often. There's also the issue with the promo skills, but hopefully with edited promos they can get good stuff out of her.

But it would be weird if Melissa played Marty's sister better than everything she did in Shimmer; in terms of promo skills, like she gets to be Marty's sister and then her once lacking promo skills become a million times better. Sometimes all people need is the right character.

Melissa did have that one awesome moment where she told Del Rey "Sorry, but my hands are tied..." and hosting up the title. That was her best promo performance ever and she totally nailed that line! Oddly those segments which lead to the Queens of Winning were also Del Rey's best promos too.
Isn't Mercedes taking a big hiatus from wrestling too right now?
I'd LOVE to see Mia Yim in Lucha Underground. Her high flying style would fit there perfectly! Is she still under a TNA contract?

But I can't see them bringing in a Japanese talent unless she moved to the US.

I know they have a dragon and face eating monster on their shows, but I think that's a step too far! Don't forget the space-man and Catrina being able to appear and disappear like the world's most nightmare-fuel inducing magician. That is also bonkers. Thinking about it; Saraya's more of Marty's mother; which would explain the craziness. On a serious note I could see Madison being Marty's sister; she was unstable as Shimmer Champion and she, as an Australian, could boast about Aboriginal Pride as opposed to Aztec Pride. It's also just too easy for me to imagine her going on with the arm-flap.
