She got more heat on Twitter on Shimmer Volume 71 than she has ever gotten; it seemed like a lot of comments were criticising her constantly, I'm surprised someone didn't complain because one strand of her hair was an inch longer than the rest of her hair. Are people just going to start blaming her for anything and everything now.
'I never got that bike when I was 10. It's Melissa's fault'
'I had to get unsalted peanuts instead of salted peanuts. It's Melissa's fault'
I know KLR and Evie outshined her (Congrats to both of them for tearing the house down) and I was expecting her match with Havok to be like King Kong and Godzilla and from all accounts it wasn't so maybe they could've kicked the ever lovin' piss out of each-other before Melissa got the win but some people seemed to act throughout the course of the show that if Melissa went to them with a box of chocolates and an apology card they would still hate her.

She'll be the new Thanks Obama. J-Hav's theme didn't play in sync with her coming out to interrupt Melissa. Thanks Melissa.

I guess Melissa and Havok will kick the ever lovin' piss out of each-other very soon. But matches not as good as expected, in order to build up rematches, are a problem indeed. After all, it affected all three bouts Melissa had at this show.
(And similar happened with Portia Perez and Nicole Matthews interfered in each other's matches. At all, there were way too many screw finishes at Vol. 71.)
We can blame the booker for this. But isn't it better when the fans blame the heel?

Are we not supposed to blame her when she cheats to win her match against Havok or...?

Here's what I don't get. Why do Melissa's fans take it more personal than everyone else's when people say they don't like her? You're the only group that gets indignant like this when someone has the gall to suggest maybe she's not all that great anymore. I don't recall any other former champion's fans throwing temper tantrums the likes that Melissa's fans did (and still are in some cases) when Nicole won the belt. Seriously, I don't get this whole cult of personality Melissa seems to have fostered.

In fairness I was quite happy when Nicole won the belt, not so much the fireball to Eagles' face, but it was pretty cool to see Matthews get the belt. Yeah. We're the only group of fans that don't like people criticising wrestlers we like.

Just about everything that Reid said, I agree with. It's no secret that I'm a huge fan of Melissa and always have been from the start, but the tantrums I've seen have been down right ridiculous.
She doesn't always have to be in the main event. I would personally love to see her establish some new fueds (which is currently happening with Havok) and mix it up with some of the newer girls.
And Wasn't there already a thread like this?

My view is that Melissa lacks direction at the moment and needs something to work off to create interest otherwise with familiarity with her due to longevity can make her appear boring to some. I suggest that either teaming her with another heelish person or heel faction would help enormously.

Vol. 71: Enters tournament to get back into title picture; loses but sets up feud with Havock for Berwyn. Seems she has direction and focus to me...

Yeah, I don't really think it's a lack of direction. There's been a path mapped out since the title loss. And the way they were branding her on commentary as "The Last Shimmer Original" gives her something to work with in the long-term.
I don't get this whole thing at all, though. Melissa had her moment(s) with the title and as the focal point of the company. Now that she's no longer Shimmer Champion, she's still an important part of the roster but not *the* focus. This is the way it's been with every champion since I've started watching. Going into a feud with Havok is definitely very high profile. I don't understand what's not to like about that part.
Just throwing something out there: Are those who are now somewhat critical of her possibly burnt out on Melissa?

Melissa's unique - I was in the front-row on Saturday, so I got to watch her work up close. First of all, I have to say that the woman has Prescence with a capital P - only she and Athena gave me chills when they came out from the sheer power of their charisma. Melissa works at such a stately controlled pace that it's easy to think that she doesn't have it like she used to - and then she effortlessly picks up Evie and powerslams her and goes on-pace with Evie and Kay Lee Ray, and it looked to me like she still has it all. She was most recently a heel champion in her most recent high-profile role, so anybody that doesn't expect her to be boo'd by a significant percentage of the audience is confused.
