It was a quite different format, but I thought her interview with Kevin Harvey was very good - and she managed to justify everything that she had done as a heel without even admitting that it was anything but her true self - that was impressive to me.

That interview was fantastic, Kevin and Melissa's stories made me want to see a sit-com with them which could also feature Danger, Hamada and Saraya as recurring characters. It's filmed in front of a scared studio audience

I'm a Melissa fan, but she isn't good enough on the mic to pull that character off. Aside from the awesome delivery of her line to Sara Del Rey "I'm sorry, but my hands are tied" she has been pretty much horrible in all her Shimmer interviews in my opinion. I wish she would just remain a silent character personally or even better if you want her to get more heat bring in a manager. I wouldn't say horrible but I will agree they are by far her weakest area, maybe for an ultra-swerve, maybe they could have Saraya as her manager when she isn't wrestling, no-one would expect it. Or Melissa's one time rival Annie Social. She was a heat magnet. If Melissa's interview with Kevin was good then maybe tape something like that during the day and air it at the shows rather than give her a live mic. It's also not helped in my opinion by Amber Gertner not being the best interviewer. I was watching old WWF Jake Roberts in full heel 'Trust Me' mode promos the other day and Mean Gene is just the best. He shows contempt and disgust for Jake whereas often Amber's like "well that's that. Back to the ring" even after threatening heel promos.

But, she doesn't need a manager. I would like to see her in a tag team. She has wrestled almost all of the roster at this point. It could be a breath of fresh air to put her in a team. I wouldn't mind seeing the Melissa/Mercedes pairing continue. They wouldn't have to be an every volume team, but seeing them as a regular to recurring team would be good.

I think she could benefit from a mouthpiece, but Mercedes is superb on the mic and I expect we'll get Mercedes & Melissa vs Lufisto & Kana soon. In fact I think this was going to be the main event of the last show until Melissa's injury.

At the Shimmer party I knocked Melissa in the arm and said, "I'm so glad you get to be a bitch" Then quickly said sorry. She said don't worry my friends are glad I get to me...

For those at the Shimmer tapings how was Melissa's reactions from the crowd? I read that she got cheered, which irritates me (and her too I imagine) as I think she's doing a great job as a heel.

Some cheered, some booed, nothing that wasn't expected.

Yeah. Levels vary, but pretty much everyone gets a mixed reaction there.

If I remember correctly, there were probably more cheers than boos when Melissa came out in New Orleans. She's a tremendous talent so it seems appropriate to give her that respect. Shimmer tapings are different because it tends to be fresh in your mind if a heel has done something horrible to a wrestler you love just an hour or two ago.

Yeah, at NOLA I got the impression people weren't really "up" on Melissa's storyline. In Berwyn, it was 50/50 at worst because they chose opponents that were crazy over. She tended to get the more desired reaction when Mercedes was out there playing the Arn Anderson role, but in singles the ardent supporters for Melissa really went into high gear (which made for some great dueling chants).

I just don't get the cheering for heels at all unless you are making some kind of protest against the babyface. The Melissa character is a total bitch these days, regardless of how good she is in the ring.
