So, is it just me or has MsChif kinda really fallen down the card in importance the last few tapings? I imagine its her choice, but it kinda bums me out, especially with Melissa as the champ. I would LOVE to see that feud rekindled even if just for one match.

Kurgan, I was sitting right behind you. Awesome shows, and I think this is going to be a regular thing with me now. I also managed to get some good pics but of course my camera battery dies right in the middle of the second show on both days. Sigh.

It was really stretching it for me to make it through an entire taping on one camera battery. Picked up a spare, and now I'm cookin' with peanut oil.

Melissa heel turn? Well that was unexpected...
New tag champs though! YES! YES!
Your right about MsChif Dmpunk. It's s bit of a shame as she's still one of the best workers imo.

Kurgan, I'm getting ready to do my thoughts also, but a couple of notes. CVE used my bottle of water and I am very proud of that!. I was also taking to MsChif (ironically about our knee braces), when the fight broke out between Saraya and CVE. I was nearly taken out at my right knee and would have been in trouble without my brace on. It was AWESOME!!

So, here is my in depth thoughts that I hope bore no one to tears. Just got home from a 5 hours drive and am still wound up.
On the PG comment. Saturday was less PG yesterday then Sunday. I acknowledge someone (Danger is my GUESS) is looking to see if there is kiddos in the audience. Today there were at least three. CVE dropped an F bomb yesterday, but today I did not hear a loud one. All of that said, it is a show and the characters are evil. Cussing does not make anything R rated.
For me Match of Day 1 was Melissa/Coutrney. Those who know me know and understand why myself and my daughter are huge Courtney fans, but I love that she has added an increasing number of submissions to her arsenal. I also thought this match open the door some for the events later in the weekend.
I'm a big believer that Angie Skye needs to get on the main roster, but let's face it, there is no room for anyone right now. He has so many folks and so much talent they can't fit it all on one DVD.
Hamada never has a bad match. I think she could have a good match with me, and trust me, that would be impossible for a mere mortal.
I loved being worked and Lee will tell you, Saraya and CVE got me good! It was fun. I popped big when she used my water for offense.
Havok. WOWWWWW! So happy to see her on therroster and the next big hele in my opinion. Plays her role excellent.
Mercedes is just awesome. Kana is beyond words and on top of her amazing ability in the ring athletically, her facial expressions tell a story. Saraya still scares my girls and I am not allowed to talk to her when they are there out of fear. Want to see more Rhia. Afraid we are going to lose a couple of our favorites to one of the big companies soon. I said to one we will see you in the fall if you come back. I hope she understood I thought she might get a bigger company deal soon (just my thought, no inside info).
I took two brutal blows to my knees today from the railing (which was noticeable closer today then yesterday, but still a risk that I understand, so no complaints). Kalamity being whipped by Melissa got my left knee, and Eagles getting let go by Rush got both knees good. I had to say my non-PG words to my Rrigbells guys. Thankfully I don't swell much with all of my tissue being gone in the there is nothing to swell up. :-)
I was worried after Day 1 about the energy like Kurgan was. However, at Paisans (which is not as intimate as Michael Anthonys) I pondered this while talking to some of my fellow Shimmer fans, and decided that I needed to do what I always preach. Enjoy the ride. I did. Day 2 built to an amazing finish.
I CRIED hard for Danger. I am also saying some prayers for her. Not only was she a great wrestler, she (along with Ringbelles and ROH) and Amber got me interested in Shimmer. Her passion for Wrestling is amazing. Really touched that Lexie came out. She is a class act.
One wish. My first time I came I was very quiet to learn the "culture" of Shimmer. I wish other first timers would watch and learn before trying to make comments, some of which are not in what I think is the spirit of the show.
We need more time at the gimmick tables. Yes, I know I am advocating adding time, but especially on Sunday (and it can be after) it needs to be longer., I did not get at least one item I wanted to day.
Newcomer of the weekend. Hands down. EVIE!!!! Havok a close second. Bring them both back.
Match of the weekend for me. It's a tie. Rush v Eagles and 3G winning the titles. 3G and the Ninjas took it up 10 notches. Amazing match. and Brutal. Rush needs the belt, but I bet Hamada gets first shot at 58. Hats off to 3G for the way they treated my girls at the end of the day. Much appreciated. They were challenged to a match. They accepted via Twitter :-). The Kentucky Rednecks v 3G
I like that I am recognizing fellow fans faces now., To Ian (I think that is his name) that sits to our right. Thanks for protecting the girls while I was gone),.
In summary for now, my philosophy with all of the heel/face/storyline/why things are done is simple,.
Trust in Dave (TID)
Thanks to everyone for making our three amazing Shimmer experience so off the charts. We plan to be at everyone till #100. We have not made any plans after that !!!! Home many of you will get to watch them grow up (and maybe be in Shimmer ring someday, talk about me popping)
I'll wear my kneepads and shin guards next show, which I am counting the days till already (though I don't know how many to count.)

I'm still processing everything, but what a great weekend as usual. Some random thoughts: I can honestly say I've never cried over pro wrestling, but Danger's retirement got me. The reaction to Joey announcing Re-X's weight as "12 Large, Brother" and the tears that came...it was just a beautiful moment. Whomever decided to play us out to More More More and the singalong that came with it made a great decision. That was special to anyone that got to know or appreciated Larry's work. The retirement speech...wow. I never heard it get so quiet when Allison started talking about the stroke and what the doctors found. Really shocking and hard to hear. Much love, Danger. That's all I can say. The build for 3G was great. It was immensely frustrating after Saturday, but the payoff was so worth it. I'm glad I got to shake Skater and Tomoka's hands afterward and congratulate them. That match was fantastic. I loved it when Kana came out with Pegaboo. LuKana is easily one of my favorite things about SHIMMER, and I really enjoyed that little touch. JESSICKA FREAKING HAVOK! I'm a fan for life. Kalamity is going to break out huge someday soon. She can hang. I locked on her from the first taping and she's only getting better! Saraya Knight keeps finding ways to be interesting. She's out of the title and main event scene now, but this hit list thing is going to be good. The amount of talent this woman has is almost as scary as when she's stalking the ring. She'll always be interesting even if she isn't smacking people and making out with movie monsters in the front row. I didn't realize how big of a loss Madison Eagles was until I got to watch her again. Love having her back. Serena packs one heck of a smack to the side when she wants to jump the rail. Guess I should've moved a little quick so she could jump J-Hav. Count me in as part of the Angie Sky for main show movement. There's just something about her I want to watch. I can't possibly be the only one excited for something going further with Hamada and Melissa. Hamada got the loudest reactions by far this weekend. She is worth her weight in gold to SHIMMER, and she delivers every single time she's out there. What a treasure. She's really something special and I think the roof would blow if she ever won the title. And to the SHIMMER faithful - you're truly a great group of people. Special love to tony and Dug for a great night at Paisans. Loved catching up and meeting you! Let's do it again sometime, huh? Thanks to everyone who worked so hard to deliver yet again. Already looking forward to the next go around!

What a weekend! Wow! For significant happenings, I barely know where to start.
On Allison: Shocked and heartbroken to learn of her recent health issues. I pray the condition is manageable and without further complication. Danger is how I found SHIMMER. A journeyman worker who is arguably the best face promo in the business. Her star power combined with a generous, selfishless good nature, could and did put over virtually everyone she worked with. Big love Allison. We'll miss you in-ring, but look forward to your considerable influence in the back.
On Serena Deeb: Thrilled to have her back healed and healthy. Her work is as strong and fearless as ever. Most certainly the No. 1 face in the company along side Hamada. Nice program w/ Havok.
On Madison Eagles: As w/ Serena, beside the time away, I wouldn't have known she suffered a major injury. Crisp, tight, hard-hitting matches. Eagles/Kana- super greatness. One other point. Who rocks the serious style/ comedic ratio like Madison?
On LuFisto: Missed her sorely. Hope her mend is quick and solid. Even before I found out the extent of her injury, I was blown away to see her get up during 53, get back in the ring and deliver a Burning Hammer to Taylor Made. Incredible heart and determination!
On Melissa: I hope her heel turn is enough to engage her haters. Before the turn, I have read and heard so much negativity and dissatisfaction. I'd like to hear more discussion pro and con on this topic. I for one, regard her as one of the cornerstones of this promotion, and soooo much more than a one trick pony.
On the tag title change: 3G came in this weekend fully formed. Look, feel, gimmick. Total momentum. Kellie and Tomoka deserve and are ready to carry the tag straps.
On Saraya Knight: With absolute respect to the SHIMMER title, mum has lost nothing here. The greatest heel in SHIMMER history to this point, is about to low-blow us into the next chapter of The Wicked Witch of Norwich. THE HIT LIST!
On the Canadian Ninjas: Ready for massive singles pushes. Nuf said.
On Hamada and Kana: The two best Japanese wrestlers in SHIMMER history. If either of these two is involved in a particular match, you can bet the bank the match WILL be better than great!
Quick kicks: Upstarts that must return- Thunderkitty- this gimmick can't go wrong. She's polished vintage magic. The possibilities.
Evie and Kimber Lee- Workrate and personality aplenty. Both these women are already there. Must see more. Please?
SPARKLE MVP: Angie Skye
A special shout-out to my SHIMMER brotha's- Crusty, a great wrestling aficionado to be sure!
Dug, just can't thank you enough for sharing a most fantastic vantage point for Saturday's pair of tapings. It's a pleasure to hang with ya bro! By the way, I second "TID" - Trust in Dave. The booking and revolving talent pool have been beyond SPECTACULAR!!!

Excellent comments, guys! I figure if you paid $70 for front row tickets, that ought to come with a warning to wear knee pads (perhaps some could be provided at the door?). I think it's cool when fans go the extra mile. If veterans are upset at newbie mistakes though, I think they could do more to break the rest of us in gently. Generally I've been impressed with how people behaved, with a few rare exceptions.
While I wasn't there Sunday to see Danger's retirement. I'm now very sad to now hear precisely why.
Best wishes and prayers.
My last 2 cents on the "PG" thing: I'm not saying Shimmer can't do a more edgy show if they want to (as in the early volumes). It's also perfectly possible to strike a balance and stick with it. I'm not saying it has to be PG, but if it's not, then don't promote it as a family product or whatever. To me "PG" doesn't mean it has to be all comedy and no violence, either. I'm not asking them to imitate any other promotion's standards.
PS: I also sat with the Shared Spandex podcast guys at Paisans. Best of luck!

it was the main event of the weekend. And one hell of a payoff for everyone there. I actually said that pound for pound (considering Berwyn is 1/50th the size of Allstate), I actually thought the reaction of the crowd for the Tag Title match was on par with MITB2011. It was NUTS in the club during the match

Will be writing more about the weekend but some quick thoughts...
I bawled when Allison Danger started talking. Not ashamed of it either. She was incredibly brave to do the matches she did considering the risk, but it was a privilege to see her wrestle one more time. When she talked about the stroke...back in December on the 21st, my mom died unexpectedly. The week before she passed, she had had surgery on her foot. During the procedure she had a small stroke, which may have contributed to her death. We'll never know. But I had my mom for 30 years, and I'm very happy that Allison is choosing to be safe over risking her health. KG needs her and with this decision she will hopefully have her momma around for several years. <3
On the flip side, it seemed like Serena Deeb was willing to take as many risks as possible. Every time she dove out of the ring I held my breath. She looked like she hadn't lost a step.
Same goes for Madison Eagles. Her match with Kana is one that, selfishly, I'm happy that we got to see live instead of CHIKARA (no offense, CHIKARA is one of my fav promotions!) - it was worth the wait and IMO the match of the year in any promotion. I missed her so much and I'm happy to see her winning streak starting up again. Couldn't bring myself to boo her no matter what.
The Melissa heel turn was really well done. I noticed a bit of aggression during the Rush match but her dancing parts were disarming. Then came the Kalamity match and I thought something might happen. Didn't think it would be during Danger's last match though...all the credit in the world to Allison for being willing to go in there and make her retirement match part of Melissa's turn. And I think honestly she's better suited to be a heel because she doesn't need to change her moveset, like Saraya or other heels do. That curb stomp into the guard rail though...geez!
Speaking of Saraya, she hasn't lost a step. Love the fact (aside from the 4 way contender match) that she worked with women she had previous history/grievance with. It was a good way to utilize her character. Despite losing the title, she hasn't lost her relevancy like some people thought would happen. Her and Made in Sin gelled together insanely well.
I see people's point about 'Chif, but on the flip side it looks like she's having fun with her role now and lets be honest, with her knees and shoulder the way they are now, it's better if she does more tag matches and has less intense singles. I loved her match with Kalamity, the humorous moments had me in stitches!
Kalamity has arrived. She's every bit worthy of being a main eventer, and I know LuFisto and Stephane had to have been proud of her main eventing against Melissa. She's a star.
Much like with Ryo, I didn't know much about Yuu Yamagata before she came but I liked her a lot. It's a shame she didn't stand out as much but I think that's mostly because she had to contend with Eagles & Serena's returns, plus the debuts of Evie, Havok and Kimber Lee. Had there been fewer debuts she might've been able to make more of an impact, but I loved her in the four way match. She showed a lot of personality, and after the shows looked happy to take photos with fans. I hope she has a chance to come back.
Was stoked that Heidi Lovelace, Leah Von Dutch and Xandra Bale graduated from SPARKLE. All 3 have a ton of potential, and working with other SHIMMER athletes can only help them grow. Next time I'm hoping for a main show debut for Angie Skye, she has the look and a lot of potential plus incredible charisma. Same for Marti Belle, I was beyond excited to see her at SHIMMER finally! She worked great as heel and face, really hope she comes back. Angelus Layne is the other SPARKLEr that stood out. She has all the ingredients to make an impact, she just needs the guidance and experience of working with veterans. Plus her mohawk is awesome.
Jessicka Havok being in SHIMMER is fantastic and the wait was worth it. Her debut at 53 was the best way to bring her in, and her working against Serena Deeb got her the instant reaction she deserved. And really, cussing doesn't make a show not family friendly. If there was a lot of skin/nudity being shown, sexual suggestiveness and other stuff, that would make it non-family friendly. Kids hear cuss words all the time as it is. Jessicka has that edge about her that no one else has, aside from Saraya.
Evie live is even better than Evie on DVD. The hype around her is true. She's amazing, I'm just sorry she got her bell rung on her first match! Glad she was feeling okay enough to wrestle Mia Yim the next day, those two had one of the best matches of the weekend. Mia just keeps getting better, they were perfect opponents.
Kimber Lee and Athena had a fantastic match, probably the best one out of the 3 they've had all together. Hard hitting, loved it! Athena was one of the MVPs of the weekend, she's a star in every sense of the word. Kimber would definitely be one to bring back as well.
Kana continues to amaze. I loved how funny and expressive she was, I think that's Lufi's influence on her. I think she's heading towards a title shot in the future. Hamada too, Hamada is incapable of having a bad match.
The only thing that really bothered me was the fact that Sassy Stephanie continues to lose in singles matches. I thought she at least got wins against newcomers, but the fact she lost to Thunderkitty...not going to lie, I was pissed. Aside from the fact that I'm not a fan of Thunderkitty (her gimmick, while different, limits her moveset. She'll never be able to show more of her skills, if she has them - you never saw Mildred Burke or Moolah do what Madison Eagles or Sara Del Rey can do for instance.), Sassy never moves up the card. I thought her matches against Athena and Hiroyo really showed what she's capable of. She's good on the mic, a solid heel, good in the ring and her partnership with Rachelle is a great tandem. It's frustrating to see her stuck at mid-level when she's capable of more. I know there's others that the same case could be made for, but to me Sass is one of the most underrated talents on the roster.
Aside from missing Lufi, Su Yung and KC Spinelli were also missed, as were Hiroyo and Yumi Ohka. But scheduling conflicts are bound to happen, so it's understandable.
I knew 3G were winning the belts but it doesn't make the actual moment any less special. I lost it, yelling and jumping for them. Tomoka always had it in her, but how many of us could foresee Kellie Skater going from opening bout comedy heel to an inspiring, main event level face? Following her personal journey has been a pleasure and a privilege. She earned it and seeing her become a tag team champion in the main event was one of the best moments in wrestling I've seen live. So deserved!
All in all, I really feel like these volumes have some of the most solid wrestling matches SHIMMER has produced. The only thing that puzzled me was how quiet the crowd was (although that isn't an excuse to keep yelling out creepy things dammit), but I thought maybe it was just me since I'd just been at WrestleCon. Also, Cheesecake Man continues to be impossibly creepy and annoying. And the person/s giving out fake flowers is annoying. It was kinda funny how some wrestlers ran with it when it happened at the last tapings, but this time all it does is add to the stuff that Eastman and company have to pick up at ringside. If the talent have no issues with it, then that's fine but it just seems like a really dumb thing to do. Then again, the times when I heckled/cheered for people it was probably annoying to people as well, so it is what it is.
April has been a strong month for SHIMMER. I hope it will have turned out to be a profitable one as well, it's deserved. Thanks to Dave and everyone behind the scenes and in the ring. ^_^
