This sounds like an amazing card so far. Damn I really wish I could attend an EVE show!

I can't believe that the Jenny Sjodin and Blue Nikita match was the opener.

I can't believe that the Jenny Sjodin and Blue Nikita match was the opener. Perhaps it was a necessity, due to one of their travel schedules or something of that nature. There are usually good explanations behind things like this.

Overall, I think this sounded like a good card. I just hope to be able to see it someday.
For anyone that watched the show, was there any explanation as to why Rhia and Ayesha had to wrestle the Blossoms for their spot in the Tourney instead of just entering themselves into it.

Sounds like another quality show from EVE. Would be interested to know how Kat did against Nikki, if she was better than she's been on tv or not.

For anyone that watched the show, was there any explanation as to why Rhia and Ayesha had to wrestle the Blossoms for their spot in the Tourney instead of just entering themselves into it. I think it must have been done out of neccessity, specifically to take the Blossom's out of the tournament. Until last night, the Blossoms were the only tag team to have actually progressed in the tournament. With the remaining first round matches for the tag titles still to take place across various UK promotions, it would obviously be a while before Hannah and Holly could have wrestled their next round match. And if they're (presumably) heading back to the US at some point his year, then there's no guarantees that they would still be in the UK to be able to compete in that match. Hence, last night's quick switch.

Dann claimed that last night was the EVE attendance record, so maybe (a) not being an iPPV and (b) having men on the show kinda helped them out.
He also gave his booking secrets... start the show with a hot match (Sjodin/Nikita), put a big match on before the interval (Storm/Waters), and end with a big main event (Alpha/Ray). Starts the fans off big, calms them down, gets them back off again before getting merch, ease them back in, and then end the show big.

The Delphi Club didn't look significantly busier than at previous events last night, but I suppose the posters for the show that were all over town might have brought in a few more locals. The show was essentially being marketed as generic wrestling show, rather than as a women's promotion with some guest male matches.
Obviously if Eve are bringing in more fans, that's no bad thing. But at the same time, it does almost seem a shame that Eve's biggest audience to date ended up being for their worst show so far. No, not Eve's worst show - that suggests that it was bad and obviously it wasn't. Let's call it their 'least awesome' show to date.
Looking at the positives, Rhia suprisingly won her ‘must win’ match (with the stipulation in place, I thought she seemed destined to lose, although still be back in time for the next show). And, better yet, we got more Rhia tonight than at any previous Eve show. Thanks to her alliance with Ayesha, Rhia was all over Eve like AJ on Raw. Dann's reasoning that opening the show with a hot match is sound enough, but the potential style of a match is important too, and a match with Jenny and Nikita was inevitably going to quite a mat based affair. Not really the sort of match that'll get a neutral/non-Eve crowd on their feet... whilst (some of) the Eve fans were probably wondering why the former champion was opening the show. The match itself was a good one, but it didn't really start things off with a bang.
In the same vein, Nikki's match with Kat/Winter was good, but without being one of either wrestler's best matches. Rhia vs Kirsty was as entertaining as you'd expect from two such charismatic performers, and the presence of Ayesha at ringside did add a little touch of intrigue before she revealed her partnership with Rhia.
The twins vs twins match was probably the best bout of the night, although the Blossom’s victory was obviously a little diminished by their subsequent removal from the Tag Title tournament.
Finally, like most of the action before it, the main event was solid, entertaining stuff, let down just a little by the finish. In some ways, Alpha vs Ayesha matched the vibe of the whole night - Entertaining in itself, but never quite taking it to the next level. Maybe that was thanks to the guest matches. It certainly felt that way to me, but I won’t pretend I’m not more than a little biased in that regard. But certainly matches that, on paper at least, seemed like they should have been classics, ended up as being simply ‘alright’.
With regards to the guys on the card, I was still concerned that were seeing them instead of other Eve performers, as opposed to 'in addition to'. The absence of April, Erin, Carmel & Sara Marie, Janey B and particularly Kay Lee Ray was notable. That said, between twitter, facebook and word of mouth, it does seem to be the case that a number of those absent had other commitments, so there wasn't an issue of them being 'replaced' as such.
I did think the males bouts on the card were given too much time and prominance on the card. If the reasoning behind the addition of these bouts was really about promoting Eve to a 'new audience', then surely once bums were on seats, they'd already done their job. The actual guest matches didn't have to take up quite so much of the show. Particularly when you consider that the Rhia/Ayesha vs Blossoms impromptu match only went about 3 minutes.
Having attended every Eve event so far, last night’s was my least favourite to date. As I've said, not a bad show, of course not. But it certainly wasn’t on the same level that an Eve show normally provides. Here’s hoping the November show gets things back on track.

Fantastic to hear that Kat wasn't going through the motions. I knew she could still go when given time and opportunity.
Sounds like a fantastic show and even better that it was sold out. Congrats to Dann and all the women!

Strangely in regards to Spider, I thought it was the best of the three Eve shows I've been to - the other being the first two.
There wasn't any worked-shoot stuff with Dann front of house, there were some angles that built through the night and more questions asked for further shows and some really good matches, but most importantly no bad matches. The main event seemed a little short but that may have been because of all the run-ins, which thankfully didn't actually interfere in the match all too much.
Or I may have been staring at the car door too long.
Also Rockstar Spud absolutely wowed my girlfriend with his three or four minute entrance and great promo, then of course Alpha, her favourite, squashing the crap out of him. I hope it had nothing to do with all his thrusting, though.

Rockstar Spud's entrance truly is an amazing sight. His extended pose on the ring apron is fantastic.

To be fair, and certainly in me own opinion, bad matches at an Eve show are a rarity. And even then, I wouldn't judge a show on the strength of one bad match. For me, it's simply about how good the good matches actually are. Cos good matches are what Eve do (99% of the time). In some ways, our opinions about last night are similar, albeit from a glass half full and a glass half empty standpoint. You enjoyed the show because of the absence of a bad match (amongst other points, that we do mostly agree on) And I found myself slightly disappointed, due to the lack of a real stand out, jump-out-of-your-seat, "this is awesome!!" match. As I've said, each and every (Eve) bout last night was good, very good. But at every Eve show I've attended prior to last night, there was always at least one really special match (sometimes more than one). Not simply 'good' matches, but the proper 'icing on the cake' matches. Matches that can elevate an entire night. Last night just didn't have one of those for me. It was still a nice cake. But it could have been sweeter.
