It was cool to see Libra and Cruise team up. I said they'd make a good team, and they did! I said the exact same thing at the April taping. These two women can be a force to be reckoned with in Shimmer. I really hope they get some more in ring time.

I can't really do justice with words about how awesome each more tapings get from the previous ones. My first SHIMMER trip started in September of last year when Madison Eagles was just starting her reign so to see that whole reign play out over a year and then be there to witness a change over a year later was nothing short of amazing to me. Especially seeing Melissa being the one to step up and take it. The reactions at the end of that match were magical and something that often doesn't happen in wrestling anymore. My friend FedoraChad summed it up best in saying that a match like that proves that titles still mean something in wrestling when they're treated right and with respect.
My respect goes to all of the women on the show and everyone who works in putting it together. Just the amount of dedication and passion that these people put into what they believe in is amazing. Seeing how much some of the women were hurting after their matches made me respect what they do and put themselves through for our entertainment. I also love seeing the progression of everyone getting better each set of tapings. Admittedly, it's harder for me to get into characters I'm not invested into and I don't get the opportunity to watch much Joshi from Japan but over the past year, every Joshi woman that has competed has been able to show me a character and make me get into their matches. They're also some of the nicest and most respectful people I've seen.
Portia and Serena along with Britani and Saraya also deserve attention and praise among any other matches of the weekend. The physicality those matches had along with Madison and Melissa are unspeakable. I literally fear for my life every time Saraya makes her entrance because you never know what's going to happen and I love that aspect of her character. I'm obviously a Portia fan but my respect for her grew even more with all she put herself through in not only the Serena match but later on in the tag title match where she took a Hamada chair assisted moonsault.
There's so much more I feel I should mention but I would be posting forever. A lot the SPARKLE talent impressed me too and I would like to see Buggy become a full time member of the roster. Davina Rose also impressed me for being put in some high profile matches. Athena was one of the breakouts to me for being able to compete at the level she did and the respect she commanded.
Finally, I just want to say that being someone that flies out to SHIMMER from California, I can't get over how welcoming and safe I feel while around fellow SHIMMER fans. You get a few who make their remarks and all but I always feel comfortable whether it be standing in line or watching a show. Even at the after parties. Thank you everyone involved for the hard work and for the third trip now, renewing my love of pro wrestling.

Very happy to hear about Melissa, she truly is great and a really nice person too. Also really glad to hear you guys liked Buggy and Davina. Thanks of course to DP and the entire Shimmer promotion for another great year of shows and can't wait to see this all on DVD. Highly anticipating the arrival of vol. 39-40 in my mailbox in a few days to hold me over until the next release. I'm going to see Davina wrestle on the 14th & Danger and Del Rey on the 15th

Many congratulations to Melissa on winning the big one, very richly deserved. That photo of her will the title is just perfect too.
Good to hear that the Knights represented Europe well, seemed like quite a swansong for Britani before departing for pastures new.
Overall, it sounded like an amazing bunch of shows.

These tapings were too awesome for words. Everyone brought their A-Game. I have a ton of thoughts but will probably save them for a blog or a post on Ringbelles.
And although the afterparty had to be moved to Michael Anthony's, I quite liked it. You could grab a bite to eat and either be nearer the music/tvs or farther in the back to have a conversation. So definite thumbs up there.
DP you continue to be THE MAN. We are so not worthy. There's nothing in the world like SHIMMER.

One thing though - maybe I just didn't notice it at the previous 2 sets of tapings I'd been to, but this time I kept hearing some guy talking about or trying to get some type of chant that involved "Cheesecake" going. It was insanely annoying, kinda like the old grandpa who was there either last Sept or April who kept yelling rude things (like telling Roxx that her and Ariel were "wasting his time" during a tag match of theirs).
Is this cheesecake guy new or is it a case of me just not noticing him before?
Actually that was something in general that bugged me: fans trying to get themselves over. I want to contribute to the show but I never want to overshadow the wrestlers and I think most folks here would agree with that. But there are some fans, like cheesecake guy or the old grandpa, who's sole purpose is to get on camera or get themselves attention. It's rude, annoying and takes away from the women who are actually busting their butts in the ring to give us a good show.
Has anyone else noticed this? (Hate to bring a sour note into the thread so soon after the shows but I'd thought this during the weekend and only now did I remember..)

Usually these complaints pop up here right away. Waiting three days for the first real complaint, not bad! Now, having sit by him all the time, he's there every time. And yes Paul, I hate you. You always say hi to me, and I'll say hi back, but you tick me off. And yes, I know you post here, and I'm going to discuss you anyway. If this gets deleted, fine.
We get it. You love to chant. Some of the chants are good, and add to the show. But here's the thing. A lot of them do take away from the show for a variety of reasons.
1. A lot of the things you chant HAVE NOTHING TO DO WITH THE MATCH!!!!!! "Berwyn..... Boo!" nothing to do with the match! "Paul's Cheesecakes!" Nothing to do with wrestling at all! I'm not chanting DDS. Jennifer's not chanting Ring Belles. Steven's not chanting Diva Dirt. When we do, we're trying to add to the match in a positive manner, to support or jeer paticular wrestlers based on their actions. 2. A lot of your chants are not even really be shouted toward the ring. I see this as you just shouting things loudly for the sake of amusing yourself and your friends. Gah. 3. It's not even just chanting, but cheering for nearly all the heels is so irritating. Yes, we all cheer for paticular heels if we're fans of their work, or really dislike their opponent. But the way you do it, to cheer for the heels, with the ONLY reason being because they're heels. You're going out of your way to do the opposite of what the wrestlers want you to do. That's a pretty low thing to do, and is quite disrespectful.
I know I shouldn't be negative, but since someone brought it up, I might as well get it out. Thank you for spending $60 toward a company we all love. Hopefully my complaining is overreacting, and you're not preventing other fans from not spending their money.

I walked past a cheesecake place today, and thought of those guys, and how annoying they were. It's not even funny.

Actually this is the first time where I have no complaints about the people who I sat near. Usually I always end up near some person who makes stupid comments the whole time but I think we're slowly weeding the idiots out.
