Has everybody seen the Paige vs Emma (Tenille) NXT women's title match yet then? It was very good, as good a women's match WWE are likely to have. In a way it would be a shame to see Paige, Emma, Davina, Knox etc.. be brought up to the proper roster and become 'divas'. In NXT they're given time to wrestle and get their character over and the women's division is taken seriously (If you don't watch NXT already, you should. It's excellent.) The hiring of Sara Del Rey has definitely made a difference and her presence was felt in this match. Here's hoping it wasn't just a one off.
I'm not sure how much I like Paige's 'Mschif' (or whatever she's supposed to be) style gimmick though. It's just not very interesting to me, especially after seeing her being an awesome, goofy, funny heel that bumps her arse off on the indies.

^ I'm definitely not a big "Paige" fan. I love Britani Knight, and her wacky antics. That's why I feel like Paige is such a lame gimmick to me; they completely missed what Britani does best and went for just another pretty face.
Even if Sara is doing good things in developmental, the "creative" team still seems to just want good looking young girls with great bodies so they can slap a half-hearted gimmick on them and tell them to go pull in revenue from the masses.
It's sad. If the circus wanted to do it right; they would have signed Britani Knight and left her character as-is. They also should have not necessarily signed, but incorporated Saraya as an aspect of Britani's character. Maybe have mum come in here and there to interact with Britani on a part time basis. That would be easy enough seeing as Saraya would be likely be constantly suspended anyway for her maniacal ways. I think it would get over huge in NXT, just as it did in SHIMMER. But, the "creative" team just isn't that creative.
I need to write an article about this; I could go on about it all day.

There's no way a 'Sweet Saraya' type gimmick would fly in the WWE. Maybe in the more intimate setting of NXT but not in the arenas.
I wouldn't be too negative on the Paige character though. She's one of the most over people on the roster so it's clearly working. I'm sure they'll do all different things with her character down the line.

I loved the match. Great to see HHH out there with Paige at the end. Two women, who are actual wrestlers, with actual gimmicks being allowed time to wrestle and get themselves over and the crowd loved it. The fact HHH was there at the end really gives me confidence that the Divas division could be on the right track when HHH takes over.

Wow, just watched volume 48. Didn't think anything would top Skater/Kana, Athena/Ray and the elimination tag team champ match, but Saraya vs Melissa was the match of the night. Just an excellent hate filled fight. Nothing fancy, just brutal realistic drama. The backstory between these two is as simple as all wrestling angles should be and adds an extra layer of tension before the bell has even rang. Melissa got jumped before the match and she knows she's doomed but she will go down swinging. I'm not usually the biggest Melissa fan but she's great here, in fact it's the most I've ever liked her; for once, she's the one being bullied and she's showing vulnerability. Her selling is phenomenal. And then there's Saraya, as terrifying as ever. The maniacal look across her face as Melissa has her in the cobra clutch is chilling. Her expressions and the way she stalks around the ring are all lovely touches. Her strikes all look as real and as stiff as ****. What a performer.
