value, thats the thing. and there may be people who don't follow the message boards who aren't as sharp on the draw as we are.

Also, put a $10 cover charge on the after party. Best $10 anyone could ever spend. If anyone gets turned away from the eagles club, they can spend the GA tix price to get in 39ten, if you do get in the eagles club then it's the 10 dollar cover. I could suggest also if you are one who was turned away from the Eagles club that you have to pay a 2 drink minimum on behalf of one of the SHIMMER talent. Yeah your account is gone, but there's just so much wrong with this. 39Ten sponsors SHIMMER, with the idea that SHIMMER encourages their fans to spend their money at 39Ten. But yet SHIMMER gets to reap in hundreds on cover charges from those fans? This means a) less fans show up and b) there's less for the fans to spend on. 39Ten pays for sponsorship, and gets very little in return. Never gonna fly. Anyway, I thought I'd do a little math to put the cost in perspective. Assume there's 75 less GA seats, with 110 total GA seats, GA would have to rise to $33.63 a day (and sell out) in order to make up the lost revenue of this ruiling. Give or take a bit of course.

I don't know how many attendees are local and how many travel, but for anyone traveling a decent distance, another 10, 20, 40 bucks over the weekend is a small part of the equation. That's a fraction of the cost of flying or even driving if you're coming from very far away. No big deal. And it only happens twice a year, so it's stupid easy to budget for that. I'm a cheapskate in many things, but I still say: raise the ticket price and keep bringing in athletes from far and wide.

As someone that flys in for the shows, I have no problem paying a few extra bucks for tickets. The tickets were actually the cheapest part of my weekend when I came in for the last set of tapings.
I guess the question is what portion of fans are local and how many travel? There's probably a difference in opinion there.
I've only been to one set of tapings. It was insanely packed during intermission, but I didn't see it as a big deal. It's probably only cramped for an hour the whole weekend.

We've made the decision to try going with $30 GA this time around, in an effort to keep the weekend roster around the same number of wrestlers as we've had recently. That is not to say that "everyone from last time will be on the shows this time," as we do have plans to switch a few wrestlers out, and "trade" their spots/expenses to pay for bringing a couple of wrestlers back who were absent last time, and also to debut a couple of new faces as well. We want to keep things fresh, and slight changes in the lineup are necessary to do that.
If we have difficulty moving all of the tickets at these prices, obviously for tapings later in the year we will drop them back down and make the necessary roster changes to make sure the venue sells out.

I'm sorry that I didn't get a chance to respond to your original question; things have been quite hectice as of late. I'm happy you made the decision you did. One aspect of Shimmer that I think is important is your fervent support of women aspiring to be wrestlers. If you were limited to only a small roster of talent, it's difficult to imagine Leva Bates, Cat Power, Melanie Cruise, etc. getting the chances they did...and doing pretty well for themsleves. You've proven yourself to be a very good businessman and an excellent, excellent booker. I'm sure you'll make this frustrating situation work.

Charging a cover for 39Ten is insane. It would be one thing if it was a closed event where only Shimmerites attended but to charge only us $10 a head and non-Shimmies nothing to get into a place reeks of stupidity. And speaking of aftershows why was the last one so lame? Nothing happened! Unless my opinions of the one before it with the dance off was so awesome that nothing couldcompare to it, it seems like the last set of AP's were boring. But then again I was all messed up on Vicodin's so I mighta missed the best one yet.

Yeah...the afterparty in September ruled. It took a little while to really get going but once it did it was total craziness.

The Sunday afterparty took a long time to get going, but at some point it was like a switch was flipped and everyone suddenly went crazy.
