Have to say that I didn't appreciate Tomoka Nakagawa as a heel, as much when she was a member of Revolucion Amandola, as I do now...probably, because R.A. was more about Kyoko Kimura & Atsuko Emoto than Tomoka IMO. But, after seeing her feud with Ayumi Kurihara, I can see the SUPER-HEEL in Tomoka now more than ever...and it's cool

I don't usually comment on these appreciation threads, but I have to say that I was surprised to see the relative lack of interest in Ms. Nakagawa. Comparisons are usually odious (as someone famous once famously said), but I felt Tomoka had a combination of pure wrestling talent and personality that put her above the other three joshi girls. She has a style about her that easily transcends the language barrier. These things are always very subjective, but she made the biggest impression on me and I'm surprised more on the boards don't seem to feel that way too.

Honestly, I had no idea that she had a thread dedicated to her or else I would of posted quite sometime ago that she was my favorite out of all the Joshi women to debut at SHIMMER. She does a great job at playing a heel, but it's pretty much impossible for me to pretend that I hate her. I'm extremely excited to see her next weekend.

Well really, only Hiroyo and Ayumi get much fanfare on this board. I'm pretty much the only one who constantly talks about Misakitty so that's the main reason her thread gets updated as much.

The thumbs-down rocked; the spitting water in people's face rocked. But all these pale in comparison to untying the referee's shoe so she can choke her opponent. She's a heel, but I love her anyway.
And, by the by, to uttely ruin an appreciation thread, Tamoka is my second-favorite Joshi; Hiroyo had me when she stared down Del Rey. Much love to Tamoka, though.

Lol yeah, especially considering this is, from what I've been told by people who've gone to japan, pretty average for your normal japanese girl:

Tomoka wrote on her blog about her SHIMMER trip. She talked about facing Ayako Hamada and Cheerleader Melissa in singles. And she blogged about my gift t-shirt! She laughed at my "instructional booklet" which showed her that my inspiration for her Tomoka Flame...I actually had forgotten that my real inspiration for the artwork was from that photoshopped photo of her breathing fire from the April SHIMMER tapings.... Later she also blogged about having tag teamed against with her "Daizee-Sensei" and having their first tag team victory! WHOOO! Then she blogged about the beautiful cut-outs that this guy made for many of the wrestlers (hand-painted I believe) and how she was so surprised that the cut-out was made to spit water out of its mouth! She thanked all the American fans :-D

I'm a big Nakagawa mark - she's like your annoying little sister who gets away with everything and then your parents blame YOU for what she did.
