The comments that April made about Roxx are blown way out of proportion. Its simply a fairly factual statement about their past relationship.
It's not like she criized Roxx' ability.
As far as WEW goes, I've never watched but I know Shantelle has wrestled for them. They don't sound any worse than Ring Divas who Knox, Ringer, Ariel, Lacey, Rain, Shantelle and others have worked for.
Again, my position is I don't care if April does or doesn't wrestle for Shimmer. But if D&P have a reason for not booking her than I'm sure its valid.

Point is people don't like how WWE use how women look as reasons for not hiring, yet some are using that excuse here. As a person, I don't know what she is like and if she is a trouble maker, it is sensible to keep her away in that sense. But I don't like how people are judging by just her looks and who she has wrestled for when she is at least a mid card performer in Shimmer by her talent alone. You actually have a good point there. Numerous fans and I think SHIMMER has proven themselves, that they are all about talent...which is what April has. Looks doesn't matter right? So why doesn't the same apply to April?

I've never really been a fan of April Hunter or Talia. (T&A. ...yeah. ...) It would probably cause a disturbance from the womens' wrestling purists, if you know what I'm saying. I also don't think they fit in with shimmer. But those opinions aren't valid because I don't know anything and neither does anyone else who isn't involved directly.
Kayla Sparks and Melissa Stripes on the other hand. . ..I've been a fan of them since I first logged on the GLORY years ago. I'm indifferent to April Hunter.

While I like April Hunter for her size ((let's face it she is pretty powerful)) I feel that she's more suited wrestling guys than being a member of the SHIMMER family.
SHIMMER doesn't need April and I can see why. D&P all ready have a marketable roster that the fans like and there's no reason to bring in April anyway.

"Seriously, one person does not a promotion make." Completely agreed. But the orginal statement was could Hunter contribute in a way that's both talent wise and marketable? I think yes. "Shimmer is the premier Women's Wrestling Promotion in the U.S. today." Isn't it a shame that being the only real women's wrestling promotion in the USA makes you PREMIER by default................. I don't count chick fights, which runs sporadically or WEW which incorporates too many strippers and non wrestlers into "matches".
I agree with the blowing out of proportion comment. I've seen and heard interviews where April Hunter puts Nikki Roxx's abilities over as one of the best females in wrestling, ever. She's even said that Nikki is better than she is. The question in the interview was "why didn't the Killer Babes go further?" and that is an appropriate answer if its true. It's hardly slagging.
I find it alarming and odd that the mentality on here is that if April Hunter were with Shimmer, she'd be talented and great. But since she's not with Shimmer, she isn't.
I've always liked the majority of her matches. Has she had off days? Of course. Regardless she not only has some great, innovative offense and submissions but she takes other wrestlers offense very well too and doesnt seem to shy away from anything. The woman can go in the ring and no matter where she works no one can take that away from her. That my two or three cents.

I don't count chick fights, which runs sporadically or WEW which incorporates too many strippers and non wrestlers into "matches". Shimmer is far from the only women's promotion in the USA. ChickFight runs just as frequently as SHIMMER or WEW do, just a few times per year. If you're going based on how often shows are run, World Women's Wrestling is the only real regularly running women's promotion in the USA. But saying that would be absurd. Shimmer has a strong following, ChickFight does well in its region and has their DVDs in stores, WEW has tv and PPV, and WWW runs most frequently. All are women's promotions in the USA that should be considered when evaluating which is the premier company IMO. Who said that? It seems that the April Hunter fans say they like her, and those that dislike her say as much. Nobody said she'd suddenly be talented and great if she were part of Shimmer. She'd be the same April Hunter we see in WEW or the Naked Women's League. Pass.

I'll say this now before things escalate any further and I have to delete this thread like happened with another in the Misc. Discussion section earlier tonight. Feel free to exchange your opinions here on the SHIMMER Forums, but when it comes to namecalling or insults... that sort of thing will not be tolerated. I don't like having to lock or delete threads. Everyone please be respectful. Thanks.

Why was the other thread deleted? I must have missed it. Who is being disrespectful? I would never insult one of these ladies. It shouldn't be like that when we're just having a discussion. There should be no insults towards any of these athletes when all of them worth mentioning here put their hearts and souls into their careers for us.

from what i've seen, april is certainly a good enough wrestler to work for shimmer. she may not be the best worker on the roster, but she is certainly competent and has worked to improve. i have no idea what she's like to deal with, as none of us would know that. it might be compelling to bring her in as a heel, playing on the natural antagonism someone with her background might have with other shimmer purists, not to mention the whole "exclusion" angle could be exciting.

I have heard from other people that Nikki Roxx isn't very loyal to her friends in general, not just April Hunter. Nikki has every right to look out for herself first and only if that's what she chooses to do, and that's not something fans should be concerned about, but neither is someone's biased perception that April somehow "slagged" Nikki Roxx.
I have spoken to a number of well regarded women wrestlers, some of whom are in Shimmer, who say that April is talented and a good worker, and that they are glad to work with her. She has wrestled all over the world and held titles in a number of promotions, so that would also belie the allegations that she's somehow "difficult." In fact, she's the current Champion of Queens of Chaos wrestling in France.
I find that when people can't think of any VALID complaints about someone, they dredge up that old "difficult to work with" innuendo because it's one of those things that can't really be proved or disproved. It's character assassination of the most cowardly kind. The fact is that April has worked harmoniously with many of the women on the Shimmer roster in WEW and other promotions all over the world, so it's ludicrous to say that somehow she wouldn't be able to "fit in" or work with those same women in Shimmer.

Invasion? That could make for a very intersting story line, ie: Chris Hero and ROH?
