I like how just because it's a women's fed everyone is like "who's sexy?" You'd never see this on a ROH board. Oh well, can't change anything. It's all about t&A one way or another.

Well I think this type of topic will be more common place now that Shimmer has made it into majior retail stores. The price of fame sadly.

Igby, a poll like this is NOT fun. It totally distorts what Shimmer is all about. I get the DVD's to watch women WRESTLE. Not show their @$$. Sex does not factor into everything. Do you look at a little girl and think . . . . See that is disgusting. So kill this thread already and get to the real poll question. Who is the best wrestler in Shimmer? Grow up. well a lot of other people seemed to be enjoying this thread. i even brought it to the attention of Rain and she didn't seem to mind. she seemed to find it amusing actually pointing out that these women are sexy does not denigrate in any way their athletic ability. in fact i made the point earlier that one of the things that make a SHIMMER wrestler sexier imo is if they are a good athlete and good in-ring performer I think your problem is that you think sex is 'dirty' and shameful. sex is a part of life, a delightful and fun part of life. if SHIMMER was ONLY about titilation that would be lame and exploitative because it would be reducing these women to only part of who they are. but if SHIMMER had NO sex appeal...you know if Amber didn't wear those short shorts or if Tiana didn't wear those cute little pigtails in Volume 7 then...well...it wouldn't be as fun to watch. you have the right to your opinion of course but i don't think you should go around moralizing to other people and telling them they're 'disgusting' if you want to start a poll about who the best wrestler is go right ahead (i already shared my thoughts on that topic in a recent thread)

Agree with igby. From what I've seen Shimmer promote the wrestling and athletic abilities first and formost, but if the girls look attractive and athletic thats all well and good. In other promotions it often seems to be the other way round with wrestling ability the lesser element.

I don't think sex is dirty and shameful, I'm against that line of thought, and it's that kind of thinking that causes T&A to be an attraction but on the other hand I'd rather threads pertaining to wrestling have the most activity. So far, this thread is the biggest of the recent ones and that's a little sad. Talk about angles, promos or something like that.
It's come to be my experience that even womens' wrestling fans aren't really that talkative about the subject even on an all womens' wrestling board it will almost certainly degenerate into something about how sexy they are so to get any discussion at all on womens' wrestling you eventually have to go that way. I didn't want to go that way on my board, I wanted to talke about angles, matches and storylines the way you would Steamboat/Flair but no one wants to do JUST that so.. ... .

I wish someone would take that line of thought when it comes to Spanky, Daniels, RVD or Styles. 2 out of 3 falls is sooooo much better when you can see ass.

I'm with Igby. Hate to break it to some of you, but the attractiveness of a roster of female wrestlers to an audience of 90% or more male fans is going to wind up being brought up whether their looks or their wrestling ability is the main focus of the promotion. Should all of the wrestlers cease wearing gear that might show off their physiques? Of course not.

I don't think there is anything wrong stating who you find attractive from the promotion. Shimmer is based on talent, not looks but in everyday life people have opinions on what people look like. I've seen on other forums men can be judged on how they look with women and gay guys spamming threads on who they have a crush on the most, and the same can be said towards the women. It isnt deregatory (sp?) to have an opinion on who looks good and who doesnt, as everyone here watches just for the wrestling I'm sure. If it were a point on "_____ shouldnt be in Shimmer as she has a face like a dog and boobs the size of walnuts" then i could see a problem, but this thread seems pretty mature about the subject. Just because the promotion is based on pure talent, doesnt mean there isnt an opinion on their looks also, but I'm sure that opinion doesnt factor in whether they buy the dvds or not. That is when it become deregatory (sp?)

As long as it isn't overpowering. More wrestling talk.
Anyone who knows me knows that I think Spanky is the perfect man but even if I did go around spamming no one would let it outshine the wrestling threads on a board. All I'm asking is that this thread doesn't outshine legit wrestling threads on this board. It gets like that on GLORY most of the time and get pretty cheesecake-ish which is why I don't go there anymore.

This is the only thread on the board that is based on the appearance of the wrestlers that I've seen in many months. The vast majority are about other aspects of Shimmer. People are freaking out over one thread with top 5 lists.

Does anyone else agree while appearance isnt the factor that should determine whether you're hired or not, talent should be, that you should work on your appearance to have a good "look"? Now don't confuse this with trying to look like a Bikini Model.....my point is not just for women but all wrestlers, they should try and creat their own unique look and enhance the features they have, instead of creating new ones with some silicone like most do. Some examples could be Team Blondage, not great wrestlers but it was a good gimmick and unique look that you knew they were apart of Team Blondage when you saw them. Others could be Nattie Neidhart's attire, MsChif's gimmick, Cheerleader Melissa's look or even Daizee's Flower Power look. One thing i hate is seeing wrestlers come in looking like they are just someone normal off the street, unique looks and gimmicks is something i prefer to see in wrestling.
And if you have a decent body, show it off in flattering outfits also. Allison Danger I think could look great but has some hideous attires. Same with Rebecca Knox, her debut attire was nice but the rest haven't been very good at all. Some might say why should this matter if they can wrestle great, and I'd agree with that as I'm a fan of them but wrestling IMO is also about being a personality and looking different than everyone else. I don't judge these women on what they wear, but their ability even though I still believe if you have a good body, why wear something hideous which makes you look worse than you are?

I think Danger's attire shows a lot of personality. It has a strong japanese/pure wrestling feel to it. I really liked the black and green cat attire. That was cute. I like her half-american, half-japanese gear. It's not about showing off the body all the time.
I agree with trying to look good, appearance helps in wrestling. No one is going to take you seriously if you don't present yourself professionally. I think individuality is something that womens' wrestling was really lacking everyone was just wearing pants and a top, there was very little variety.
